Today
Today is the most important day of my life,
Because today I have the power to progress.
Yesterday is locked in the past
And tomorrow is waiting in the wings
Barely beyond today’s reach.
Today I have opportunity
I can build on yesterday’s successes.
I can make the most of past regrets
And with educated hope apply the painful lessons
Of yesterday’s defeats and disappointments.
Today I have determination.
I have dreams I can begin to realize.
I am the architect and the contractor
Of the vision and the reality of my true potential.
Only today can I dream and build and realize.

The Christ Child
As we draw nearer to the day set aside to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, our thoughts turn to this Wondrous Little Infant Boy, rightly referred to by Isaiah as Immanuel meaning God with us.
We think of that sacred moment when Mary holds the New-Born King in her arms for the first time. As Mary touched the Babe’s tiny feet, do you think she realized these same feet would one day walk on water, or be bathed with kisses and tears of gratitude?
As the Christ Child gripped his tiny hand around her little finger, did she know these precious little hands would one day heal the sick, cast out devils, and ordain apostles?
As the Babe’s cry for nourishment sounded in Mary’s ears, did she envision Him fasting for forty days in the wilderness, and later feeding five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fishes?
As she wrapped the Babe in swaddling clothes, did Mary have an inkling that the very touch of His clothes would one day heal a woman and then later many others in towns and villages?
As Mary heard the Baby cooing for the first time, did she understand that only days earlier, as Jehovah, He knew every language perfectly?
We acknowledge Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer, the Only Begotten Son of our Father in Heaven.
May the Christ Child be the center of our Holiday season!

Before You Even Knew Me
Thank you dear Mother
For carrying me inside of you,
Keeping me warm and
Allowing me to grow
Before you even knew me.
Thank you dear Mother
For embarking on that extraordinary journey
Called birth with me, your travail carried me,
You almost touched eternity,
Before you even knew
