THE LEAN STARTUP SUMMARY
Eric Ries, The Lean Startup Summary
The Lowdown
The Lean Startup is a wholesome guide for improving the odds of a startup's success. You'll find innovative steps and strategies for creating and managing your startup. You’ll learn from the real-life successes and collapses of others. The book aims to improve the success rate of new innovative products worldwide. In the words of Dan Heath, this is a mandatory reading for entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurship is a kind of management. Yes, you read that right! Hard work with no sense of management has ruined millions of startups. Even Eric fell prey to this in his early days. This, along with many other important aspects, has been explained in the book. Before his success at IMVU, Eric failed twice in the startups which seemed perfect at that time. He didn't know what he was missing and desperately needed a piece of advice. After all the years of experience and finally finding out the steps to a successful startup, he summed up all he had learned so far and put it down in this book.
This is a book for entrepreneurs and the people who hold them accountable. The five principles of the Lean Startup, which will be explained later on, are as follows:
1. Entrepreneurs are everywhere.
2. Entrepreneurship is management.
3. Validated learning.
4. Build-Measure-Learn.
5. Innovation accounting.
The book has three parts: Vision, Steer and Accelerate. Vision focuses on having a clear sight and plan of what your objective is. This section
