    Prologue

    Jacob Damion

Jacob Damion was once a black-ops specialist who had completed many missions abroad taking out and or protecting high ranking people for the CIA. Jacob had completed all his missions with a no fail count and lost not one of his men in some of the most dangerous missions that were issued. His speciality was in interrogation methods by using items and or machines that were available to him in each location. Because of what he had done and saw Jacob was not able to settle down and start a family.

He had his commercial truck licence, so he bought a 2001 Western Star and with his own operating authority he was able to run all over the country picking and choosing his loads. Jason also had a business on the side which was helping people that had exhausted all avenues for help from the authorities. Jacob had placed an ad in the mercenary rags as Trucker for Hire with his contact information. The stories in this book are about Jacob helping these people. I hope you enjoy reading Chronicles of a Trucker for Hire.

Don’t Always Believe What You Hear

    Chapter one

It had been a long three months running down the road without really any time off to recharge his

batteries when Jacob received an e-mail alert on his laptop. Jacob drove on for at least another hour

before stopping at a truck stop in Galveston, Texas. After backing his truck into a spot at the back of the

truck stop Jacob reached into his bunk and pulled out his laptop and read the e-mail message. The

message was from an old friend that had accepted a position within the government of Mexico. His

friend’s job was to search out and destroy certain rebel groups that have been reeking chaos on the

people of Mexico. The e-mail read, how would you like three weeks’ vacation in the beautiful coastal

areas of Mexico. Jacob read the e-mail again and thought it was a joke but responded back asking for

details. He left his truck and went inside the restaurant to grab a bite to eat and a coffee.

While in the restaurant Jacob observed the other drivers eating and talking shop then said, "Shit I

Really need a break from the road to unwind." After grabbing something to eat Jacob headed back out to

his truck. As he entered the cab of his Western Star Jacob noticed his laptop was flashing advising him

that he has a message. He settled down in his driver’s seat and opened the e-mail. It was from his friend

stating have we got a deal for him. It read; Jacob it would be greatly appreciated if you could find the

time to help us here in Mexico. I have been authorised to pay you in U.S. currency the amount of money

as listed below as well provide you with a three-week all-inclusive vacation anywhere in Mexico upon

the completion of this mission. Jacob thought for a few minutes then asked them to send details of what

the mission was that they wanted him to take care of and details of the area. About an hour later, Jacob

received the intel that he had asked for. As he reviewed the information, he thought that this would be

real recon work as well as jungle warfare.

He placed a big grin on his face then whispered, I wonder what they have down there that I could use to inflict pain as I interrogate the bad guys. He kept reading the e-mail which stated that there were at least twenty-seven men in the rag tag group with military grade weapons and have several rpg’s available to them from the drug cartel. Jacob asked what would be available to him if he accepts the mission, as well as what type of support would he have access to. It was a little while before he received his reply stating that this would be totally under the radar and he would have no support from the government regarding this mission. However, we will provide you free access to any and all requirements which means if you have any cargo that needs to be brought across our borders, you would be cleared to come back without hindrance. Jacob thought for a moment then replied I need some time to check on a few things before I commit to this assignment. He then took out his cell phone and contacted his friend Murry. Murry answered the usual way, what’s up, then listened as Jacob explained about the mission that he had been offered.

After listening Murry informed Jacob that he has supplies going down there all the time for the government.

Murry said, I could provide you with whatever you need all you need to do is just ask.

Jacob asked, What about rpg’s and other explosives?

Murry said, I can get you anything you want, and have it delivered by air drop if required. Murry then said, Listen this sounds like it could be dangerous, even for you. These men have been trained at some point in time as military; if you do this please take it seriously, we don’t want to lose you down there, ok.

Jacob replied, I would rather die as a soldier then waste away doing nothing.

The two men said goodbye to each other then Jacob opened his laptop and sent an e-mail back to his friend in Mexico. The message was simply put please send all intel for review I will be down there in three days. After Jacob sent the e-mail message, he closed his laptop then went back into the truck stop for a hot shower. After Jacob came back from the restaurant he climbed back into his bunk and pulled out his laptop with its blinking light notifying him that he has an e-mail. He opened the laptop then read the e-mail from his friend in Mexico stating; this is what we have so far and good luck. There was an attachment which contained about thirty pages of intel on the rebel group. Jacob started to read through the intel but decided that he needed to have it printed, just because of the sheer volume of information and the intel seemed to be scattered from page to page.

Jacob headed over to a friend’s place that was in Texas. This friend of his had helped him out in the past rescuing several girls from down south. Jacob wanted to drop his truck somewhere where it would be safe. He then needed to have Murry provide either a van or pickup truck as he did before. Jacob pulled into his friend’s entrance way and hopped out of his cab just as his friend came over to greet him. The two men shook their secret handshake then Jacob started to explain what he was there for.

Jacob asked, Joe, would it be alright if I leave my truck with you for a little while?

Of course, you can drop your rig here for as long as you need, replied his friend.

Great, replied Jacob as he pulled out his cell phone and then proceeded to contact his friend / supplier Murry.

Jacob started to explain what he would like then Murry replied, "I have just the thing for you and will have it down there in two days if that is ok.

Jacob replied, Excellent, I am at Joe’s in Laredo.

Murry replied, Please say hi to the old son of a bitch for me, then there was just the dial tone.

Jacob went over to Joe and informed him that Murry said, Hi to the old son of a bitch, then Joe let out a loud laugh.

Joe then said, That little twerp I will give him one of my bear hugs next time I see him, that will teach him to try and be a smart ass to us seniors.

Jacob laughed as he said I remember that last time you gave a bear hug. You could hear the guy’s ribs crack across the field that we were fighting in.

Joe replied, Well that taught the little bastard for running into me while he was trying to flee from you. The two men went into Joe’s place and sat down as Joe’s wife Melinda came over and gave Jacob a hug.

She smiled as she said, It is so good to see you, Jake. How was Murry and Daryl doing?

Jacob replied, They are doing well and living the dream. As she started to leave the men alone, she asked if she could get them anything to drink or eat. Joe asked if they could have a couple of beers, in which Melinda winked coming right up honey then left the room.

Joe asked, Just what are you getting yourself into Jake?

Jacob replied, Well its Terry that asked me to help out down there so how could I refuse.

Joe looked down at the floor and replied, Yeah, I suppose you are right.

Then Joe said, But please be careful, I hear a lot of shit about these guys’ and how they torture the shit out of their captives.

Jacob smiled as he replied, Thanks that means they have stuff down there that I could use as well.

Joe just looked at Jacob then responded, Shit I am starting to feel sorry for those poor bastards after what I have saw what you can do.

Jacob chuckled and said, Murry will be providing me anything I need to spice things up down there. After visiting for the day Jacob asked Joe to drop him off at the truck stop so he could meet up with Murry. An hour later, Jacob climbed out of Joe’s pickup truck and went around back to see if Murry was there yet. There in the corner was Murry with a hummer fully done up with a snorkel and all. Jacob walked over and greeted Murry with their secret handshake then started going over what the hummer had installed. As Jacob watched Murry open the storage compartments that were attached his eyes lit up.

Murry said with a grin, I hope this meets your expectations Jake. Jacob just stared at all the weapons and explosives that were in the back of the hummer and in its storage compartments. Murry explained that the hummer was recommissioned for the Mexican military and has clean access too cross over without being searched or detained. Murry added that you have a full tank of fuel as well as four Gerry cans that are full too. Jacob gave Murry a hug for the first time without being forced into it which threw Murry for a loop. Murry whispered in Jakes ear, You’re not going soft on me, are you?

Jacob pulled back and said, No but it’s the first time you got me a real vehicle to work with, as he laughed.

    Chapter two

Murry grinned and said, Well you just make sure that you come back from there, alright. Murry then said, I have loaded up the gps so that it has every little shithole of a village that there is down there.

Jacob said, Great and don’t worry, I plan on coming back.

Murry placed a big grin on his face which caught Jacob’s attention.

Jacob asked, Ok, what the hell was that all about?

Murry replied, I have upgraded your drone to be whisper quiet and it can deliver explosive devices with precise accuracy as well as has a camera with 360-degree capability. I have sent you the app for controlling the drone as well as there is a pair of day and night goggles inside the hummer that gives you the view from the drone. Jacob thanked Murry again just as Murry’s ride appeared to pick him up and take him home.

The little blond climbed out of the driver’s seat and waved as she shouted, Hi Uncle Jake.

Jacob looked over at Murry and said, You have Kelly working for you now?

Murry replied, She wanted to see you, so I told her she can pick me up after all what harm can it do.

Jacob went over and gave Kelly a big hug and whispered in her ear, You have no idea how much I have missed you. After the family reunion Murry and Kelly left and Jacob got down to business getting ready for Mexico. After Jacob went through the hummer and took count of the explosives that Murry had provided, he hopped into the driver’s seat and headed back over to his truck. Once he arrived at his western Star Jacob immediately went into his secret compartment on his truck and pulled out his ratty looking duffle bag and the rest of his equipment that he had stowed away and placed them in the hummer.

Several hours later, Jacob was at the border crossing and just like he was promised he was waved through without any complications. Hell, they never even bothered to bend down and look at who was driving the hummer. After driving a short distance into Mexico Jacob started looking for a place to pull over so he could get his bearings on where he was relative to where the rebels were located. Up ahead was a small business that looked like a drinking hole and a souvenir shop combined. He pulled into the parking lot that was full of American plates except three that he had noticed were from Texas. As he pulled out his laptop to check on his e-mails several rough looking men that were standing around the side of the building started to come over towards Jacob’s vehicle. Jacob had already noticed them and was prepared to deal with them if he had to. There were five men but two of the men stayed behind leaning against the building. Jacob climbed out of the hummer and asked the men, Hey boy’s what ‘s up?

Two of the men moved towards Jacob as one of them said, We would like to take a ride in your jeep.

Jacob looked at him then replied, Why would I let you take a ride in my vehicle when you’re so stupid that you can’t tell that this is a hummer not a wimpy jeep?

The man started to see red as he charged at Jacob at the same time pulling out a hunting knife. Jacob side stepped the man and as he went by Jacob grabbed the second man that was standing there by the neck a threw him onto the first man. Now that both men were down Jacob went to take care of the third one. Just as he went to grab the third man the
