Prologue

My sweet little girl, he said quietly. A tender smile belying the tears in his eyes. I can’t believe you’re all grown up. Jinx smiling at him as he neatly stacked the last box down in her dorm room. Her blonde hair fastened in a long, pristine ponytail, hanging nearly to her waist.

It’ll be okay, Daddy. It’s just college? I’ll only be a phone call away and we can Skype. Remember? I showed you how? I’ll be home on break at the holidays. Summer vacations, too? You’ll hardly know I’m gone, soothed Jinx.

It’s just… I guess the house will feel so empty with you gone. My little baby…

I love you, too, Daddy, she said quietly, reaching up and giving him an affectionate kiss on the cheek. Even on tiptoes, her petite body barely able to reach. Their tender moment interrupted as a wild tornado blew into the room. Long dark hair more than a bit windblown, caramel colored skin, chattering a mile a minute as she scattered an armload of things haphazardly onto the second bed in the room. Her bedraggled red-haired father trailing behind lugging several heavy looking boxes.

Is that it, beag amháin? he asked rather exhaustedly. His Irish heritage still predominant even after years in the US. Si, Papa, the strange mix of endearments sounding so foreign to Jinx. Almost as alien as the dark haired, caramel skinned, fiery eyed roommate standing before her. Tall, with a curvaceous body and tits that were hard to miss, she was still babbling non-stop as her Mother came through the door carrying a final suitcase. Her daughter definitely taking after her. The same flawless caramel complexion, lush figure and jet-black hair.

Andrea… I will miss you so much, Chiquita, sighed the small woman, arms hugging her passionately.

"Ohhh… Mamacita? I am only a phone call away. I promise. I’ll be home on break before you know it. Hugging, a string of endearments passing between them. All in Spanish. Jinx just blinking in awe at the loud, demonstrative family.

Finally noticing that there were others in the room, introductions were made. Andrea, ‘call me Andi,’ snickering as Jinx introduced herself. You’ll definitely have to tell me where that name came from, she giggled. Should I be worried? she asked impishly turning to Jinx’s father.

It’s a long story, grinned Jinx shyly, her pale complexion reddening.

Well… Not to worry. Looks like we have until next June, roomie? Andi countered, sprightly.

Chapter 1

She looked at the third bottle of Dos Equis a little askance. Jinx had always
