Thank God! Now that graduation was final over I was officially an 18 year old college freshman with a summer of partying ahead of me. Spending the week at my friend Eric’s family beach house had been just the way to kick off this summer of hedonism .

Living up to to the deal I made with my parents by securing a full ride scholarship, I was not required to work over the summer before I left for college. Unfortunately most of my friends were not in the same boat and I was finding myself with long hot days that I struggled to fill. At first it was fun to just sit on the sofa and watch television while my parents were at work. I soon was made painfully aware that summer programming was not very inspiring. I had went to the beach a couple of times but it felt a little weird going by myself.

Reading a good book had also been a challenge as I kept looking outside at the warm rays and blue skies calling my name. What the hell was I going to do with the next two months. Maybe I should go get a job just so that I don’t go out of my mind with boredom.
