Chapter 1

Damn, can life get any more screwed up? All this time the girl I love, my brother, and best friend have kept a secret, and not just any secret it’s a huge fucking secret, one that almost took that friend away from us.

Everything I ever wanted in life is standing beside me, crying her heart out.

Bella has not stopped crying since we found Enzo. I wish I could take away her pain. I won’t let anyone hurt her, and I will always be here for her. How parents could do to their children what Bella and Enzo’ parents did to them, I will never know. Their form of abuse to their children was more emotional than anything else, but that is the hardest to overcome. I only know it’s up to my brother and me to make sure they know they are loved and safe.

As we all make our way back down the hill to our house, Kaylee lets us know she has to head home. She gives Bella a hug and then poof, she changes and lifts off into the sky. I just can’t believe she is a dragon. This has all been one hell of a cluster fuck.

Jinx looks at me, and I know he is concerned, but I let him know through our bond link that everything will be fine. I am here for him and Enzo. We will talk to our parents about everything that has happened, and deal with it as we should, together, and as the adults, we have become. He nods his head and puts his arm around Enzo and leads him into the house. My heart is breaking for my best friend and my mate. Their lives have now been turned upside down. Why?
