By Leonardo Etch—Me, Myself & My Pen
This is a collection of my writing from the last decade, since the fire within me for writing was reignited. Thanks for reading my book—I hope you find some pleasure in doing so. Some say I’m a person that’s hard to read and that I have hidden depths . . . . so I say you have to look a little deeper!
I hope you get the message.
Thanks for the love to my Sarah Loo, Sam, Mum & Dad xxxx

Our Amazing Bank Holiday Weekend
Saturday arrives and all the planning and preparation
Now has to come together,
The Invitations done, with all those little things too,
The only Unknown is the Weather!
Eight weeks of work, Loo at my side, As usual
She gave her all,
The Cake, the slideshow, the Venue too,
Lets hope we have a ball,
40 years of marriage Mum and Dad enjoy, but tonight
I am the Host,
All sorts of different pressures, People arriving
from the Coast!
My Solitary wish tonight is that after everything
we have done, it goes to plan,
So many things to think of, Especially Sams
performance with his band!
Along with my Commitments on this night, I have
agreed to sing a few tracks,
With Hindsight this extra worry makes it
twice as hard to now Relax,
Still awaiting Guests arrival we Stall our 8’oclock
Start,
But its time for a decision, Sam’s Teacher
must depart,
The Accoustics were not brilliant as most guests
now start to Sit,
I knew it was too loud when Mum said
Can you turn it down a bit
,
Apart from one small Hiccup, All goe’s well
and people say very well done
,
Thats what you have to do when called on
as Number one Son!,
The Buffets ready by this time and the
Cakes Unveiled to view,
Sam and me Worked hard on it, and Mum
and Dad loved it, that’s true,
Something so Unusual happened, Jan and Les
Appear out of the blue,
Their first appearance for well over a decade,
For Our Party, What a Coup!,
For Mum and Dad I mean and All our
Effort is worth while,
Us Letchfords always pull off a great party,
Its good company with Style,
Now its getting late, time to go, so we pack
Dads motor with a pile of food,
The Beefs gone in more ways than one!
But Dad’s still in a good Mood,
I get home late, pleased with my work with
great help from my Loo,
We pulled it off in the very best way
that we could ever do!
Sunday morning and my Head is Heavy,
but my heart is feeling Sweet,
That was one Groovey Ruby you will find
Very hard to beat!
Monday morning, half past Eight, and the weathers
looking Glum,
I turn to Loolar and say "I’m not going
Today to the hop fields, I’m gonna ring Mum",
"Sorry Mum the weathers bad, I don’t fancy
it today",
She Sighs with disappointment but She
Just says Thats Ok
,
Ten minutes later my mobile goes, its Mum
and I Say Hello
,
She’s spoken to Aunty Cathy and down there
the Sun will glow,
I realise that with all there aches and pains
and pills they both really want to go,
Down to the Kertish Hopfields whether cloud,
or Rain, Or Snow!
Ok
Mum "We’ll give it a crack, I will see
you just after 10,
OK love
the phone goes down and I just
know She’s happy again!
On the Dot Dad Rolls up and as usual
we are running late,
But everyone is very cool, no one getting in a
State,
We eventually get going, two cars to take us
all,
The Old A2 and Seven Mile lane a journey I
will always Recall,
Mum and Dad both pointing out places visited
beore,
A pleasurable journey, not the expected bore!
The Tickled Trout and tight Country lanes a
drive back into the past,
I trundled along at a gentle pace not like
me I usually go fast,
That was the setting for the day, a day to
forget about TV,
Down in deepest darkest Kent, that’s the place
for me,
Meet up with Bomber and all his Crew, Cathy
and David Wait,
Our Family Convoy Setting off, yearning for
that Hop field gate,
Down to the back field, time to set up, our
Chairs and Seats and grub,
Settle in, put on the kettle, get used to
be grassy Shrub,
The Sun by now was baking us, a beautiful
Kentish day,
I’m Sure mum sent one to the big man upstairs,
to help us on our way,
Time for a walk, seeing Sheep and Heffers,
Glad that I had met em,
Mum and Dad there in Spirit, though their legs
Just wouldn’t let em,
We picked Some Damsons, Berrys to, sat on an
Ancient Tractor,
Met the farmer, just like Pop Larkin, but he was
not an Actor,
Arrived back at the Field and Sam got out his
Guitar,
I think he’ll look back on this day as his
first time driving a Car,
He really Played Some lovely tunes, everyone
Joins in, and Claps,
Behind the wheel he’s a natural, through the
field he does several laps,
The Sun beats down and two teams are picked,
Its Rounders for the young,
An hour of fun and I’m feeling done nearly hit a good
home Run,
Tune to pack our Chairs and bits and head
off back to Home,
Thank the Farmer for his welcome, and Allowing Us
to Roam,
Like we have done as a family for Five decades
and more,
We’ll be back if that’s all right, next bank
holiday for sure,
Through the Single pile lanes, Dad warns me
what may Come,
Some heavy farm like traffic, be careful love
Says Mum,
Seven Mile lane, comes our way again, and
we’ve had such fun we say,
The best weekend for a very long time, and a
brilliant Bank Holiday!
Sarah my Loolar
Sarah in hebrew means Lady Princess,
A Beauty that has given my heart such Success,
Renamed Loolar because of her Charm,
A duty for me to keep her from harm,
Heavenly face, with blonde flowing tresses,
Jade eyes gleaming, along with her dresses,
Attractive and so very pleasant to the eye,
Nubile and desirable, so glad I’m her guy,
Electric personality, people always adore,
Misty her first love for that I am sure
Yearn to be near her every second of each day,
Love that most mortals would hope for and pray.
Occasionally I pinch myself in case its a dream,
Overawed by her kind Heart or so it would seem,
Letchy or Pumpkin she calls me with Love,
And on this Earth, no other, I hold above,
Rarest of Relationships I’ve been granted its true,
DEEPLY ETCHED

A poetic Challenge!
I am tonight Staring into a Literary Chasm,
A task I have set myself, Can I do it?
My Wordy experiments can take up to 2 month,
Asking new Questions on this great word bonanza,
Tasty phrasedogy that my pen loves to eat,
Titbits nourishing my literal Craftwork,
Endings and beginnings I have to Complete,
Musing and Reflecting each letter I write,
Polished, even elegant to show good tutorship,
Testing knowledge as each written line comes to pass,
Inaugural entry into this Academic Abyss,
Nourish the page trying to Accentuate,
Gathering gems like Noah and his Arc,
Torrentual expression, I hope for a downpour,
Orative journey theoretical and Abstractive,
Complex but enjoyable putting me to the test,
Revamping and modernising my written Abilities,
Enthusiastically my love of words has grown,
Adamant that when read my prose will please,
The message I try to give you is free,
Each reading will tempt you to a higher ground,
A short bubbling dip you have spent in my word Jacuzzi,
Poetry is part of this word loving Man,
Once you click and suddenly find what I’m covering,
Each one of you will literally start great DISCOVERY
Write Right?
Words when written produce a new story,
If you love poems, your pen brings you glory,
Producing fresh prose to delight the page,
Allowing new thoughts, opening your next stage,
Not knowing the next line when you start to flow,
Can make your heart sing and your soul grow,
Once you immerse yourself completely within,
Words and Expression, it help you begin,
to
