Emotions of Open fields
Desires
I
I hold you in my arms so tight,
In my heart and all through the night,
Under the moon that shone so bright,
An angel’s face I see throughout my life.
II
Another girl has taken your place,
Though all I see is your smiling face,
They come and go in my empty eyes
When they see love is lost within my stare,
Burning on the edge of my fires lost empty pyre,
Chorus
The pyre is lost within my desire
The fire is burning within fantasies of my soul
Captured by memories that will not go,
Keeping me within this place of desire,
Lost in the void that shows only you and me,
Standing alone in fantasies of my own desire
III
When I wake to find an empty bed,
Though the sheets are still a mess,
I see the girl who has done her best;
But in fantasies I still see your smiling face.
IV
I’ll always be haunted by my memories
Of how blind I was to let you go;
Never knowing you took my heart
My Anam Cara; my long lost soul,
Split at the start of time;
Darkness of time that keep you searching in life;
Fantasies that will keep you searching within the void,
Fantasies staring at faces on the walls,
Chorus
The pyre is lost within my desire
The fire is burning within fantasies of my soul
Captured by memories that will never go,
Keeping me within this place of desire,
Lost in the void that shows only you and me,
Standing alone in fantasies of my own fire
V
Now I’m caught between day and night,
As the clouds fill up my empty life,
Covering your guiding star along the way
Born in clay; but split in life
In the dark; will it never be day.
VI
Now I see you on the street
Passion makes me wish we could fly,
How could such lovers make each other cry?
But the fantasies I feel can never be revised
As I stare within your empty eyes
Knowing these feelings will never change
But now you just pass me by.
Empty Room
I
Sitting in a room so full,
In a crowd; but on my own
Staring through this smoked filled room,
Hazy mist engulfs us all.
II
Misty windows tell the tale,
Maybe a shelter from the outside world,
Only knowing it all will end,
Staggering home along country bends,
III
People talking so fast,
Drinking as their brain goes numb,
Slurring and staggering to the bar,
Hoping to get just one more
IV
Staggering round this smoked filled room,
Watching friends of mine pass me by,
As the walls close around my empty bar,
Hearing the sound to the final bell
Open Fields
I
I used to run through open fields,
Fields so full of dreams,
Now lost so deep within my heart,
Where I run too; when I’m lost in time
II
Run, run through fields of green,
Where love and peace has its place,
Hiding it, deep down and safe,
So no one can destroy my paradise.
Chorus
Fields are open in your life,
Life is a view with choices within your grasp,
You must consider the choices given to you,
We are all standing still,
Focusing on the choices within our lives,
How long do we stand staring at the skies of hopes?
Voices on the breeze say we must carry on,
III
Fields I have run through to find myself,
As I get lost inside my head,
Searching for the place I lost,
Searching everywhere with closed eyes,
IV
It’s far but so near,
Deep down inside of me,
Almost within my reaching touch,
But slipping through my open arms,
Chorus
Fields are open in your life,
Life is a view with choices within your grasp,
You must consider the choices given to you,
We are all standing still,
Focusing on the choices within your life,
How long do we stand staring at the skies of hopes?
Voices on the breeze say we must carry on,
V
Watching it skip and fall,
Just a lonely teardrop within my heart,
Trying not to show the pain,
While my heart fills with shame.
VI
Standing still but running fast,
Calling on my fields to break my heart,
Falling short on life’s sweet grass,
Watching all the people as they pass
Pot of gold
I
Finding my pot of gold
Goal to follow through
Was the hardest thing to do!
When you’re feeling so low
II
Searching round the trees
Up and down every hill
Trying to touch the sky
Keeping my dreams alive
III
Lost within a pot of gold,
Searching for my open field,
Peace of mind I hope to find
Searching all my life
Fields changing in time
Sitting in my open fields
Once empty; now
Trying to find peace of mind
Walking on my feet
I
Walking along the street
Always looking at my feet
Skipping, stuttering, slipping over the cracks I see
Just to fall in the potholes so deep inside
II
Staring at the different faces marching by
All their faces fixed on the ground
I want to get off this merry-go-round
Standing aside and watch the people go by
Chorus
Walking watching the footsteps of the past
Staring at the roads that have made me blind
Of the past in which we pass in a glance
Steps in the snow; of wishes that will never show
Walking on footsteps that reflect my thoughts
Target of the show in which we never know
III
Trying to make people search within their minds,
Ray of light to see through the darkest clouds,
First we must stop and take control,
Tap into the inner dreams and fears we hold inside,
IV
Only then can we stare beyond the darkest clouds,
Find ourselves within the clay of man,
Stop the hate and despise we see everyday,
Clear
