Windows to the Soul - K. Bradley Washburn
INTRODUCTION
Windows to the Soul is a collection of poetry written over a ten-year period, from 1996 to 2006. The seventy-five poems in this volume are actually part of a larger unpublished work titled Tapestry, which contains every verse I have written from around 1995 to the present. Many of these are mere fragments, and the entire collection will probably never be published.
Two of the poems in this volume have previously been published by the International Library of Poetry. Forgiven (X) was published in 2005 in a volume titled Twilight Musings, and Masks (LXX) was published in 2006 in a volume titled The Best Poems and Poets of 2005.
I rarely title my poetry, so all of the poems in this collection are designated by a Roman numeral, followed by the title if one exists. As they are part of a larger collection, these numerals should not be considered titles, and are subject to change in future printings.
The bulk of the verses in this volume are either love poems or religious ballads, with a few random musings spread throughout. As you read the verses in this book, I hope you enjoy these windows to my soul.

But I just lie to myself.
I feel my heart in the dirt.
Ripped out and bleeding,
My soul torn to shreds.
Destroyed, and then some.
I say I’m okay.
And it’s true
‘Cause I’m numb.
III.
I never knew what love really was.
I thought I did,
But I was wrong.
I never believed in love at first sight.
Never believed,
Until I met you.
When
