    Fulfillment; - Oliver Myers

    Focus on Happiness

Happiness is the key to a comfortable, joyful, and successful life, and it starts with focus. If you focus all your happiness, then you should focus on what you want. When you focus on what you want, you usually get happiness. Look forward with focus, and you shall receive. Why should you focus on happiness? What you focus on expands, and if happiness is your goal, then that must be the focus. Keep that thought at the front of your mind: what you focus on expands. The next reason to focus is to feel the feelings of happiness. Focus on what you feel. Happy thoughts come up, and you immediately gain those happy feelings. Who doesn’t like feeling happy? Enjoy feeling happy all the time, because your focus should always be on happiness.

Like attracts like—this is the law of attraction in motion. Your focus on happiness means you vibrate that frequency out to the universe, and you can watch everything on the same happiness frequency come back to you. Happiness vibrates on a high, positive frequency, and all things in the area, including your soul mate, vibrate on that same frequency. Others draw near to you as long as you vibrate on that frequency.

Energy is contagious: either you affect or infect people. You are the light, and your happiness will affect others’ happiness. People will instantly feel better because they see you happy. Your smile is a physical display of happiness. Also, you will infect people; you will inject your happiness in their sadness and bring a reason to celebrate and to be happy. Let your light shine—if not for you, then for others. You will help by letting their light shine.

Feel good, and find happiness. Many times there are endless items that draw attention to negative energy. Your fears or emotions bring you down to a state of despair. Why? It does not matter how much negativity is in your life. As long as at least one thing is positive, you have a starting point, a beginning, or a reason to feel good. Feel good for the sake of feeling good. All of the negative energy in the world can crush you. It’s just energy, so let it go and feel good. Feeling good is good for you. Your body slows the aging process and keeps success at the forefront of your mind. It keeps you and your heart filled.

Feel good because of what it returns. The universe will shower you with all the joy and hope waiting for you. An excellent receiver will receive. Be that receiver! Use intention at night and in the morning, and every day you will have something amazing to look forward to. Find the good for yourself. Think of one thing you are happy about having in your life, and with your mind draw an image of that thing. Build on one positive picture, and you will have a whole collage of pictures and feelings that make you happy.

There is much to feel good about. Forget about negative energy and feeling bad—simply enjoy the moment and enjoy feeling good. Feeling good is a reward, and you should reward yourself daily. You deserve it! Stop beating yourself up or tearing yourself down. Feel good about where you are, where you came from, and where you are headed. That is a bunch of good.

    Finding Your True Self

Find your true self. A chapter in the novel Changing the Game by Oliver Myers explores the theories and thoughts that we create about ourselves in a negative manner and that tear apart our lives. These negative thoughts steer us into the wrong types of relationships with the wrong people. We seek external satisfaction instead of viewing ourselves as the magnificent beings that we are created to be.

Let your light shine is the catchphrase for this chapter. Once you have done a full inventory, you can build on the wonderful attributes. However, after finding your shortcomings, you will be better equipped to see everything you want to change. Reflect upon your partner. By belittling your partner, you reinforce the theory of shortcomings being an issue. However, once you are aware of this, you can change your thinking by looking at it from another perspective and shining a new light on the subject.

Shortcomings are only characteristics that enhance your beauty—they do not take away. As you go through this chapter, look back to the times you covered your partner in shortcomings. See how different he or she looks now by viewing them as positive attributes. Now the past errors can be seen.

In order to get the most out of this chapter, this book, and your relationship, I want you to design and put 100 percent of your effort into searching for yourself, seeking the truth, and opening your mind to new possibilities. If you promise to give 100 percent effort, the person in the mirror will be somebody to admire. Your relationships will thank you. There is little to lose and a life to gain. The results of your tests will be in direct relation to the effort you exert. Begin with a self-evaluation, which is necessary to properly gauge who you think you are and who you actually are; that information can show you how deadly lost thoughts and theories can be.

    Loving Yourself

You are amazing—a wonderful, joy-filled spirit selected to inhabit this physical world and to indulge in all of the abundance, happiness, and love offered. You have been sufficiently supplied with everything necessary to fully enjoy your journey. Your journey includes several individual purposes of which you will masterfully take charge through self-discovery, openness, and value creation.

You know that your journey is about finding happiness through joy and fulfillment, and you will continuously pursue these with bursting intensity. Your pursuit will net you everything you’ve always wanted because of your intensity and focus. The physical world has made available all things, good and bad, for you to indulge in by simply choosing to seek. In order to seek out and gain all these wonderful possibilities, you must first look within to see who you are and how special it is to engage your full potential.

Knowing yourself is the first step to loving yourself, and it directly impacts your ability to perform at the highest capacity. Knowing yourself is more than being happy with your current situation; it is about being captivated by your heart, being mesmerized by your mind, embracing your emotions, and falling deeply and madly in love with yourself. By gaining an intimate and personal understanding of yourself that defines you on a deep level, you can define and shelter any goal of your choosing. Knowing yourself better than anyone else will help you to remain uninfluenced by exterior forces. You will always use your own thoughts to gain control of any situation in which you may find yourself. Thinking for yourself is the most powerful weapon you have at your disposal. No one will ever love you as much as you love yourself, so you must define yourself fully in order to expand outward. Find that amazing being who will continuously captivate you and others. To do this, you must employ self-evaluation that will communicate to you exactly who you are by discovering your true value.

Knowing yourself is very important. Without self-knowledge, you can never find happiness. It is not something external—it is within you. Everything else adds to your happiness. Your happiness is shaped from within and is expanded outward to the physical world by the relationships that you bring into your life. As a spiritual being, you vibrate a natural and authentic energy. Think of that energy as a magnet: it provides a strong connection to everything around you that is similar or attracted to it. What parallels and coincides with it adds to your happiness and vibrational feeling—what is in line with you.

Once you develop happiness from within, you can easily expand by seeking relationships with people, places, and things that are similar in nature. Getting to know yourself is about creating a close, personal relationship with yourself; looking at your total self from an observer’s perspective, layer by layer; and falling in love with every aspect.

    The Art of Unity

In order to get the most out of your happiness and life, look at yourself as a product developed by adding elements together to create a perfect solution. Each element has to work in harmony with the others to get the best results. You are that perfect solution, and you have four key elements or layers that work in harmonious balance with each other to nurture the best results in your life. Understand each layer and how it works with the others to form stability. Once you have that stability, you can develop a true love for yourself and all four aspects.

Let’s break down the four layers and their relationships to one another.

    •   The physical or exterior layer; what you see in the mirror

    •   The mental or conditioned mind; a collection of programmed information nurtured in the mind to focus your thoughts into action

    •   The emotional layer or feeling center; where positive and negative feelings are attached to information

    •   The true self or your center; the natural, loving state of you

At first glance, each layer is detached and diverse; however, by looking deeper you can see they are connected with comparable attributes. Think of your physical layer as the result: it is the visual representation of the equilibrium of your inner layers. To understand that, you must take a look at the inner layers beginning with the emotional layer, because if something is in your life or on your physical layer, it is because you felt a certain way to take that action. The emotional layer is all about your feeling good, bad, or indifferent; this is where emotions get attached to the change, the outcome. Next is your mental layer, where you create thoughts that are attached to feelings as well as the most powerful feeling within you, your ego. The ego is your barrier between the emotional and mental layers. Under all of this is your center or true self, when everything else is peeled away and your natural or true state is left. Your goal is to be parallel to this state.

Self Discovery: The Art of Observation

    Trust in yourself. Your perceptions

    are often far more accurate

than you are willing to believe.

    - Claudia Black

Before we begin our journey to discover who you truly are on all levels, let’s take a look at your perspective on life; this will open your eyes to the various ideas you are holding in each of the four layers. Look at the lights for traffic. Do you know your journey? Have you planned your trip properly with the direction of your goal, or do you pace yourself slowly, watching others pass? Are you hoping to find a sign that identifies where you need to go? Are you simply waiting for guidance and help while you’re on the side of the road? This concept of traffic lights on the highway is similar to the traffic lights we use on our journey. On the highway there are many people directed by red, yellow, and green lights; because of these lights, each type of person travels through life in a very different way. Many people are a combination of the lights; however, lots of people are directed by only one. To fully understand this, we must understand each light and its specific direction, as well as find the key component in our journey, which is balance.

For starters, let’s take a look at the red light. If you have ever driven on the road before, you know that a red light is a directive to stop. For the highway of life, a red light signifies a failure to proceed, or a stoppage; this may be due to an obstacle in the road ahead, a lack of information or direction, or a significant need for help or guidance. This is not necessarily a bad thing with balance; there are times when we need guidance and must stop in order to move forward properly. However, in a case where your full directive is only the red light, you are at a point where help must be applied in order to move forward and gain progress.

Next is the yellow light, or caution light; this directive indicates danger ahead and to proceed with caution. On the highway of life, a yellow light simply defines continuing progress with an awareness of what’s going on around you. The yellow light seeks out opportunities and is a truly remarkable indicator. By properly using the yellow light, you can focus on opportunities and proceed when your direction is understood. However, you must have balance, know your course, and define suitable opportunities. With too much caution, you can let opportunities pass you by.

Lastly, a green traffic light directs you to go. On the highway of life, a green light is forward progress and continued effort toward your goal. The green light is a wonderful indicator; however, without proper use of the yellow light to be aware and to focus on opportunities—as well as the red light, to gain guidance and direction—you will not fully capture all of the benefits of the green light.

Each indicator light has a necessary advantage as well as disadvantage, and using balance will help you to overcome these disadvantages and proceed through the highway of life with a concrete goal or destination in mind. When explaining the journey of life, we must look at three major components that help to easily master the trip. The three major components are a destination, journey, and directions; with these components life is simple and the journey is easy.

    •   A destination or goal is a worthy ideal. It provides a reason to move forward and progress, and it’s a definite position that reaches further than where you are now. Any attempt at accomplishing more and being more is a purpose or an aim. This is the first step in achieving anything, because a destination gives you an aiming point; without that, there is no reason to move forward.

    •   The journey is the path or the way to go. With a goal the journey of life is success. Success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal, so a journey is nothing more than a goal’s progressive realization. Having a destination infuses the journey with motivation to accomplish it, and when combined those two elements become powerful entities.

    •   Direction is any available item or equipment used to create the journey that reaches your destination; it can be a map or guidance that lays out step-by-step procedures to reach your destination. Your direction in life includes the action steps or intentions that move you closer to your goal.

The journey of life must be followed using the proper equipment. Having a direction along with the journey greatly increases your chance at realizing your destination. Each item is very necessary, as well as the proper mind-set.

Now that you are beginning to look at yourself from an observer’s standpoint, let’s dig into the first and outer layer of this self-evaluation, which is physical.

    •   Your physical aspect is what you see in the mirror, how you are portrayed by others around you, and the graphic illustration of you in physical form. To begin this evaluation, stand in front of the mirror and look at yourself. Let your eyes scan every inch of your body from your head to your toes, and look at every part of you—the good, the bad, and the ugly. Using a nonjudgmental tone, describe yourself from your most appealing feature to your deepest, hidden flaw. Get really in-depth with yourself; break every single thing down. Write down every thought that pops into your head.
