No cats were harmed in the writing of this story.
Tiger and Pierre
The Great Safe Caper
––––––––
Hello. I’m Tiger here. I’m the cat on the cover. The small cute one on the left. Do you like the cover? I posed for many hours for that picture. I worked my heart out on this book and Chris was nice enough to type it up for me. I wanted to make sure I gave him my best angle for the picture. I will admit the artist embellished a little. I think it was worth it. As you can tell, Pierre wasn’t as excited. He stood still long enough for us to get a good sketch. Anyway, if you like the cover make sure you tell Chris. He’s a great guy.
Chapter 1
Introductions and the Vile Crime
This story is about the night someone took something very precious to us. ‘The Event’ as it came to be known consumed us for several days. It struck us at our core and shook our very foundation of security.
Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Tiger, the senior feline on premises and the boss for all intensive purposes. I’m six years old -but who’s counting? I’m a lovable, playful, cute, spotted Tabby cat. I’m very low maintenance. I’m the matriarch in this house. That means I rule our little tribe. Now, even though I’m first and foremost a lady, I can still hold my own in the country. I used to be an ally cat until Chris brought me home to join the family. Now I’m a country cat. I lived alone until Beth brought home Pierre. Pierre is my little striped Tabby assistant. Actually, he’s not little at all. He’s twice my size and half the intelligence. I have been like a mother to him, so I’ll always think of him as little. He’s moderately good to our people, so I tolerate him. He does get on my nerves daily and I can’t stand when he...
-forgive me, I’m off topic.
You see, something dear to us was taken and we’re on a hunt to get it back.
It was a dark night and our people were gone. It was during the warm months. Our humans where gone for several nights in a row. Pierre being new to the house, wasn’t aware we would be left on our own for so long. He found out it’s a blessing and a curse.
Late that night, as I lay in my cat tower taking a nap -always keeping one eye open mind you- I heard a noise that jolted me awake. Pierre was lying on our cat bed on the seat of the grass zombie, excuse me, I mean grass reduction thingy -more on this later- and I saw someone
