"This book is dedicated to Marjorie Gross, who was the person in my life during the time I wrote the content of this book, and is still, and will be the love of my life.—However, my life’s’loves cannot be ignored, and I am sure their influence has played a role in preparing me for this venture.—Here’s to love in my past, and to my present, which will be my future.
A Good Friend Today. And Tomorrow?
I am not a poet and I know it,
But give me a wild seed and I’ll sow it
I make no claim to fame.
And anything bad that happens, I am to blame.
But I try to be a good friend, right to the end.
No matter how rocky the road, or sharp the bend.
I’ll be right beside you all the way,
A friend to the end, I hope they’ll say.
Just a good friend I’ll try to be,
Through thick or thin, just wait and see.
Now then, could you spare a fiver or two?
And I’ll give it right back, the next time I come through
Your town, and I happen to see you around.
Now there, see the good friend you have found?
A Wonderful Happening
Honey, I love you, I do, I do, I do.
No one else in the world
Means as much to me as you.
It is a natural thing that happened to me.
And thankfully, it has turned out to be
A happening that also happened to you
And made us be a loving two.
Out of all the she’s and the he’s,
How did {fate} that force see fit to please
Us both with each other, and make us feel
That we could be a good deal?
And make me want to kneel at your feet,
And know you were the one for me to meet.
To fill my life and make me feel complete.
And now that we have each other,
My hope is that I’ll be able to smother
All the daily cares and strife in your life,
And enable us to become man and w-e.
