SOUL PRINTS
Soul prints is a collection of my private reflections, Of my souls personal journey here on Mother Earth, Of my many experiences and my personal connections, Of my multilayered being, my beliefs, and all their worth.

This beautiful collection takes form in many ways: From sweet love and laughter it will change to sad tears, But all will come from honesty, reflecting different days Of living humanly, not wanting judgment from my peers.

My intentions come from sharing in an imperfect place, Hoping that the various pieces, with so much diversity, Will reach out in this dimension, without a need to race, Simmer, digest, and finally resonate with many a new face.

All I ask of you is to hold, in all your head and heart, One hundred percent compassion, and you will play the perfect part!

    Letter to Brian and Matt

    A Tale to Tell

    A Gesture of Gratitude

This letter is to thank the ones who made this book possible. They start with Sister Corinthia, my sixth-grade teacher at St. Bedes. You taught me to be aware of details, to focus, and then to put the words on paper. You supported and guided me during a very vulnerable time of my life. I think of you often and regret that I never told you how you changed my life. Thank you for teaching me the passion of wanting to learn and be alive.

Next, I’d like to send a shout out to Dr. Langbein. I can’t count the times you told me to write my story. You’ve always made me feel important enough to listen to. In today’s world, it’s hard to find people who care a lot. I love how your head always follows your heart. Maybe someday you could write a medical manual on how to treat your patients with the utmost respect, which is what you’ve always shown me.

Then there’s Winnie Troxel. You’ve given me support in spades. When I wanted to stop writing, you kept telling me to keep going and not throw my pieces out. You listened to my pieces with such an empathic ear, and you gave me much-needed praises. You always let me be me, without judgment on your part. You’ve been instrumental in my evolution for this last decade.

This part is to Linda Hampson. I know you don’t want the public admiration I am giving you. That’s all the more reason—you deserve it. You talked me into the computer, and then you taught me the basic tools I needed to create this book. You gave me supplies to keep the work going. You cared so much for me, Angel, and Sunshine, during the hardest times of our lives. I feel you own this book as much as I do. If anything ever happens to me, the rights to this book are yours, with my gratitude.

If it weren’t for Ryan Stracci, a lot of my basic survival needs would not have been supplied. When people take it for granted that they have food, they tend to forget that others need help getting theirs. Ryan was there to help when my family was not. My life was dependent on him, and he’s actually kept me alive to do my soul’s work here. We have learned many soul lessons together, especially forgiveness.

The last person I’d like to thank is Polly Flanagan. After each piece was written, she was a sounding board. It was honored by being read out loud in her home. She was never too busy to honor each and every piece I presented to her. We are very different people, but she treated all my pieces with honor and respect.

Thanks to all of you, in each unique way that you helped me and supported me while I created this piece of art. I know that heaven looks down on each of you with gratitude too.

    Introduction

This collection of my poems, letters, and mini-essays all have purpose and clear intention.

This world is too complicated and overdone.

I want to leave something behind of value—true value—coming from the soul, my spirit, and my experiences.

I made my pieces as simple as possible, direct and easy to read.

I hope to connect with those readers needing honesty from the heart and soul.

God bless all who read these,

    Part 1

    Sunshine and Angel

I’ve chosen Sunshine and Angel to start this book.

They were on Mother Earth when I started to write.

It started with Sunshine’s cancer; I wrote his life book.

I didn’t think I’d survive, but I tried with all my might!

I wasn’t a writer, a poet, or an author, but I could speak.

So I took my pen in hand and did what he deserved.

I started at the beginning; I knew I couldn’t be meek.

It really hurt; he was dying; I was totally unnerved!

After his book, the poems birthed and created new life.

    Now Angel was living her last year but by my side;

As I wrote and wrote, she supported my pain and strife,

And now they watch me from heaven, and in them I confide!

Now I want the collection all compiled in one book,

To go out on a limb and let the world see

All of my heart and what makes up me!

    Star Mate

I am you, and you are me.

Let this unfold, and let this be.

We will dance till the dawn,

So shall you see: I am you and you are me.

From the heavens above and the earth below,

I am you, and you are me.

    From the beginning of time,

Your heart has been mine; I am you, and you are me.

The way will unfold if you just let it be.

I am you, and you are me.

The path will open; the skies will clear.

Just keep in the faith, my beloved dear,

For I am you, and you are me.

Together we’ll be through eternity; I am you, and you are me.

The star in the heavens and in your heart

Are one and the same; don’t let them part.

For I am you, and you are me.

And that’s all you ever need to see.

    Dedicated to Sunshine, my special
