About this ebook

This man had remained on the same spot helpless, hopeless, abandoned, rejected, impotent and unforgiven for 38 years! (That was even before Jesus was born). He had no man to help him. He stayed by the well of blessings and miracles for 38 years, yet all was not well with him. Many knew he had an ugly past. Some had forgotten about him. Most never knew who he was. To his family, he has been forgotten. To the society, he was no longer relevant. The Bible even never mentioned his name.
But one day, Jesus was going to the Temple and stopped by to attend to him.
He did not even know Jesus.
Why would Jesus stop because of a man who had an ugly past?
Why would Jesus stop because of such a man who never have faith to be healed nor ever knew Jesus?
Why would Jesus stop because of a man who is unforgiving and unforgiven?
Jesus stopped and asked this man a simple but heart-searching question:
DO YOU WANT TO GET WELL?
This book is specially written for three reasons.
To find peace in Gods forgiveness
To find peace in forgiving others
To find peace in forgiving yourself
The healing begins when the silence is broken.

    COMMENTS

One of the most profound statements in the bible is, Do you want to get well? Many people in life go around with an ailment, a challenge, a difficulty without the hope of getting well. These people are not aware of the power of Jesus Christ to heal them. In this powerful book, you will learn how to identify potential obstacles to receiving your miracles from God. The author, through the inspiration and revelation of God sheds a new light on how to properly answer the question; Do you want to get well? I pray that as you read this book every area in your life that needs healing shall be touched in the name of Jesus.

People are different. While Jesus is the only way to God, this book illustrates how each individual may experience a unique path to Jesus. The style is very readable, the events in the history of Christ’s ministry are vividly portrayed, and the unifying theme resounds. In its profound simplicity, this collection of stories from the Bible shows how Jesus is available and accessible for every individual.

    THIS IS FOR YOU

The mysteries that are revealed in these Biblical histories will put an end to your miseries.

The devil never wants you to realize that he was fighting a battle that has already been concluded. Jesus had won and the devil had lost.

Jesus had already won the battle long ago, and He wants the victory to also be made manifest in your life. So He is sending this message to you at this very time.

That is why I am dedicating this book to you.

Yes. You! For making this discovery for recovery. For searching out this that has been revealed to unveil what has been concealed from you.

I don’t need to know you, but Jesus knows you. Even before you were born, He had known you (Psalm 139:13-18, Jeremiah 29:11). He knows your pains and your shame. He sees them all, and understands all you are going through. He had also seen the ones you have gone through and also the ones you will go through.

He wants to stop because of you, and make you what He wants you to be. He wants you to fulfill the purpose He created you for.

JESUS CAN STOP BECAUSE OF YOU series shall feature the one on one encounter some folks had with Jesus that changed the stories of their lives for good; made us to read about them, and also long for such encounters that would change our own lives for good. This series is to make you realize that God is more than what people say. And that God has His own several ways of meeting people’s needs, not just a way. He gives different strokes to different folks.

These are not just happily-ever-after fables. They are not just Sunday school stories. They are not just any other stories, myths and legends. They are true-life moments in which the real God met real people with real pains; and was stopped to do something real good for them.

These stories could answer the questions we often ask God:

    Why me?

What have I done to deserve all these?

    Am I the only one?

    How long?

Why is God so far away from my pains?

Where was God when I hurt?

These stories were revisited to serve as a reminder that:

The God who visited still visits.

The God who saw still sees.

The God who heard still hears.

The God who blessed still blesses.

The God who created still creates.

The God who re-created still re-creates.

The God who restored still restores.

The God who touched still touches.

The God who spoke still speaks.

The God who saved still saves.

The God who gave still gives.

The God who forgave still forgives.

The God who cleansed still cleanses.

The God who healed still heals.

The God who stopped still stops.

He only has the answer to your questions and He wants to do what you can’t and nobody else could. He has done it before and still does it. If only you could let Him, He would do it for you too.

The hymn titled Pass me not Oh Gentle Savior! written by the great woman called Fanny J. Crosby, has inspired me greatly to write the JESUS CAN STOP BECAUSE OF YOU series. This hymn made me to look into the lives of the folks that Jesus had stopped to visit, heal, bless, and forgive; and to make them as contact points of prayers for every one of us; that the same Jesus that stopped because of those folks can still stop because of you. And as a lover of hymns, I also included some other hymns that inspired my writing this particular volume, and I am sure will inspire your reading too.

The Bible recorded that Jesus healed everybody and every kind of diseases and sicknesses everywhere he went.

    Let us check it out;

"Jesus traveled all through Galilee teaching in the Jewish synagogues, everywhere preaching the Good News about the Kingdom of Heaven. And He healed every kind of sickness and disease. The report of his miracles spread far beyond the borders of Galilee so that sick folk were soon coming to be healed from as far away as Syria. And whatever their illness and pain, or if they were possessed by demons, or were insane, or paralyzedhe healed them all. Enormous crowds followed him wherever he wentpeople from Galilee, and the Ten Cities, and Jerusalem, and from all over Judea, and even from across the Jordan River."—Matthew 4:23-25, TLB.

That evening several demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus; and when he spoke a single word, all the demons fled; and all the sick were healed. This fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, He took our sicknesses and bore our diseases.—Matthew 18:16-17, TLB

When they came down the slopes of the mountain, they stood with Jesus on a large, level area, surrounded by many of his followers who in turn, were surrounded by the crowds. For people from all over Judea and from Jerusalem and from as far north as the seacoasts of Tyre and Sidon had come to hear him or to be healed. And he cast out many demons. Everyone was trying to touch him, for when they did, healing power went out from him and they were cured.—Luke 6:17-19, TLB.

Yet some cases were very distinct, not because Jesus used special powers, but because they were singled out of the crowd, and were given special attention by the Lord.

The Lord Jesus shod light on this when he addressed the Pharisees and Jewish leaders.

"For example, remember how Elijah the prophet used a miracle to help the widow of Zarephatha foreigner from the land of Sidon. There were many Jewish widows needing help in those days of famine, for there had been no rain for three and a half years, and hunger stalked the land; yet Elijah was not sent to them. Or think of the prophet Elisha, who healed Naaman, a Syrian, rather than the many Jewish lepers needing help."—Luke 4:25-27, TLB

Some of these folks never knew the Lord, while some had very little knowledge of who the Lord was.

Some never worth the attention because of their ways of life, while some were so religious that they believed they do not need Jesus.

Some were determined to get healed, while some had given up all hope of ever being healed.

Some defied the crowd, while some were debarred by the crowd.

Yet Jesus stopped and attended to their cases.

    This series will make us ask the questions;

Why would Jesus stop because of these folks?

Why did Jesus stop because of these folks?

What did these folks do to make Jesus stop?

What must I do to make Jesus single me out of the crowd and stop because of me too?

The only person that can make Jesus stop because of you is nobody but you.

If only you make Him stop, Jesus will definitely stop because of you.

For there is somebody on the verge of breakthrough.

Somebody is on the mind of Jesus for a change and to receive the miraculous.

Somebody is the next on the line for a miracle—a great transformation, and that somebody is YOU!

Pass me not, O gentle Savior

    Hear my humble cry!

While on others thou art calling

    Do not pass me by.

Savior, Savior, Hear my humble cry

While on others thou art calling

    Do not pass me by

Let me at a throne of mercy

    Find a sweet relief

    Kneeling there in deep contrition

    Help my unbelief

    Trusting only in thy merit

    Would I seek thy face

    Heal my wounded broken spirit

    Save me by thy Grace.

Thou the spring of all my comfort

    More than life to me!

Whom have I in earth beside thee?

Whom in heaven but thee?—Fanny J. Crosby.

"Afterwards Jesus returned to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish religious holidays. Inside the city, near the sheep gate, was Bethesda pool, with five covered platforms or porches surroundings it. Crowds of sick folkslame, blind or with paralyzed limbslay on the platforms (waiting for a certain movement of the water, for an angel of the Lord came from time to time and disturbed the water, and the first person to step down into it afterwards was healed).

One of the men lying there had been sick for thirty—eight years. When Jesus saw him and knew how long he had been ill, he asked him, Would you like to get well?

I can’t the sick man said, For I have no one to help me into the pool at the movement of the water. While I am trying to get there, someone else always gets in ahead of me. Jesus told him, Stand up, roll up your sleeping mat and go on home! Instantly, the man was healed! He rolled up the mat and began walking.

But it was on the Sabbath when this miracle was done. So the Jewish leaders objected. They said to the man who was cured, You can’t work on the Sabbath. It’s illegal to carry that sleeping mat!

    "The man who healed me
