What a somber day it was when Jeanie Traub walked into my office, slumped down in a chair, and told me she had been diagnosed with fourth-stage cancer at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas, and given three months to live.
I need for you to help me find God and find my answers,
she pleaded.
At that moment, I had never felt more helpless as a pastor or as a clinical social worker. I pledged to Jeanie that I would walk through her dark valley with her and that I would hold her hand, embracing her with the love of Jesus, and that I would not abandon her, no matter what. My knowledge of God extended over a period of twenty-six years. During those years, I had seen many lives transformed, people healed from various maladies and mental illnesses, but none were in the desperate predicament that Jeanie was in. Her brain wasn't working properly. She had chronic seizures and was unable to finish sentences or keep her focus. She was totally dependent on others to get her to her therapy sessions and often became lost when she wandered from her home and had to be retrieved by family members.
I began to cry out to the God of my salvation, my Lord Jesus Christ, who had healed me from a terminal heart disease at the age of twenty-six. At that moment, I was given the honor by Almighty God to watch one of the most miraculous transformations of a life that I had ever seen. We had long nights of prayer and petition before the throne of God, often ministering to Jeanie when her mind was so confused and demented that she hardly knew who she was. Not only would He spare her, heal her, and remove the cancer in her body, but He would also teach her, train her, and raise her up as a minister of His gospel to speak into the lives of cancer patients and those who had become as hopeless and as helpless as herself.
When I had an accident in 2003, suffering a broken back, spinal cord injury, and brain damage, my good friend Jeanie with whom I have a bond that will never be broken, served as a support for me during my time of trauma. She has had the privilege of walking with me through my healing process and has seen the hand of God restore my life and my ability to function.
I was recently given the honor of ordaining Jeanie Traub into her pastoral healing ministry. I have been a witness of the glory of God that has touched her life. I can only come into agreement with His will and His ways regarding Jeanie by shouting a joyful Yea and Amen
to all He has done. What a remarkable witness and glorious testimony she has of His immeasurable grace and unfathomable love for us all.
I can only weep deep tears of thanksgiving and rejoice over all I have seen and heard. I keenly remember the night we prayed for Jeanie at the Sheep Gate Fellowship and saw the glory of God touch her for the first time and begin that healing process. I am so grateful that He spared my dear friend, my apostolic daughter, and is using her every day of her life to minister His love to the sick and dying of the world.
Introduction
This book is about my experience of being healed of cancer. It is written to teach you about our loving God who does not afflict His children with cancer and disease. Just think for a minute. Would you give your child whom you love cancer to teach them a lesson?
Yet many people think this way today.
The Bible says that all good things come from God (James 1:17). The Bible is our guide to living a godly life. It is a guide for taking care of our body, our mind, and our spirit. It is the revelation of Jesus Christ, the son of our almighty Father God. It tells us that we can perish because of lack of knowledge. God wants us to take responsibility for learning the truth about how we are living our lives. Are we listening to the ways of man and this world, or are we listening to and following His ways?
The Bible is God talking to us on how we should be living our lives to have the joy, peace, happiness, and health that He intends us to have. John 8:32 declares, And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
This book is written in love that you shall find the truth, peace in your heart, and health in your body.
Those who trust in, lean on, and confidently hope in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides and stands fast forever
(Psalm 125:1 AMP).
I have written this book to encourage all those who will at least open their hearts to a different way of dealing with cancer and healing. The healing experience is not only about getting rid of cancer but also about getting to the root of why your body can or has become a host to this horrible disease. I will present to you my personal experiences and the useful information I learned along my journey. My prayer is for this book to give comfort, and strength, and empower you or a loved one on your path to healing. May God be with you as you read, and please pray yourself for truth and discernment.
I believe when we are healed from something, such as cancer, Jesus wants us to help and encourage others to be healed as well. I know when our family was faced with my mother's diagnosis of cancer over forty years ago, I researched everything I could, trying to obtain knowledge to help save her life. I would have given everything I had to know what I know now. My mother did not survive, but God has put a passion in my heart to get the knowledge that I received to others that they may be helped.
If you are reading this book and have not been diagnosed with cancer, my hope is that you will learn important information that you can implement in your daily life to prevent yourself from ever reading a book like this as a cancer patient. Not getting cancer is the best way to defeat it.
I will inform you about the healing principles found in the Bible. The Word of God has power, and when we receive the revelation of how powerful the Word of God is, we will greatly reduce illness and disease. Plants, herbs, and whole foods were our ancestors' medicines for centuries and helped to heal their bodies of many diseases. Because of our worldly thinking, we have become a society that is dependent on doctors to keep us well, instead of taking responsibility for our own health care.
Billions of dollars each year are being spent on drugs and advertising that has turned our way of thinking into popping a pill instead of eating properly and taking good care of our bodies. This is merely treating the symptoms instead of finding the root cause of the problem and healing your body. Sadly, we are only addressing the symptoms and neglecting the cause. It also reflects our lack of inner peace.
God created a wonderful, self-healing body that is designed to live for over a hundred years in good health. The healing power is within each one of us. The Paul Harvey Show featured a Brazilian woman who was 125 years old and living life triumphantly with a sharp mind. We do not have to die prematurely because of illness or disease, as so many believe today.
The first thing to realize is that there are many others, like myself, who have attacked cancer naturally and won the battle. Next, ask yourself how cancer may have developed in you and what circumstances might be aiding the disease? The most important question is, of course, How do I win this battle?
The keys to winning the war against cancer are education and action. You must learn about available research and resources, and then you must make informed decisions about the best approaches and treatment plans for your specific needs. Many people who do not survive this disease perish due to a lack of knowledge and participation.
You must make a total commitment to winning this battle. Attack this enemy as aggressively as it has attacked you with your commitment and dedication to doing everything possible to rid your body of this disease. It is a murderer within you.
