About this ebook

Reno Tibljas is like everyone else in the world: he has loved and lost. In his debut collection of poems, he reflects on the beautiful disorder of life and explores the meaning of love.

Tibljas leads others down a lyrical path through the peaks and valleys of love in a variety of poems that offer a glimpse into his heart as he searches for his soul mate. While contemplating loneliness, the agony of heartbreak, and the joy of romance, Tibljas illuminates love and loss from different perspectives and times in his life.

Loves Peaks and Valleys shares a compilation of poems that passionately explore the many emotions related to love and loss.

    Preface

Like everyone else, I have loved and I have lost. The following verses reflect feelings, thoughts, emotions I’ve experienced in no particular order to reflect the beautiful disorder of life.

To Cvetka, Austin, Kayla, Sherri and Marla

    Continue to Believe

There are times when I feel so alone but not alone

I know there are people that care for me

And I know those who have departed

From this world are still with me

    Looking out for me

But I long for the sight, sound and touch of a woman

Not just any woman and not really for the sex

Though it is definitely about the intimacy

The melding of thoughts and emotions

And the making of love as opposed to sex

I sometimes wonder if I really belong

To this world at this time

    Everything seems to take precedence

Over finding the time to find the one

    I’m supposed to be with

Yes, I am drinking wine at this time

But I don’t feel any different

When I haven’t had any alcohol or drug

    The only difference being

The words come out onto the page more easily

What happened to that time in our lives

    When we were young

    When the most important thing

Was to find someone to be with

We didn’t seem afraid to try back then

Now we use our busy schedules

To insulate us from ever having someone

Get close enough to hurt us again

    Have we really grown

    Or have we stepped back

    So
