    Introduction

When the Lord made man, He placed within him a hunger that drives him to search for a power much higher than himself, one that he may refer to as god. Man is smart enough to ask himself the questions, Who am I? What am I? What am I doing here? And where do I go from here? Man’s life presents to him more questions than answers, questions like, Why, for what reason, or to do what? That drive is so great within man that he will pull a god out of his imagination, and worship him. There is a void within man that can only be filled with the one and only living and true God, YAHWEH, the Creator, and Supreme Ruler, of heaven and earth.

Man has always looked up to what has fed into his life, or that which has provided necessary things to him. That is why we sometimes find him worshiping the sun, the earth, the sea, the trees, animals, etc. Then man has a tendency to reverence things that he perceives to be mightier than he, and things that he believes can destroy him. So sometimes we find man worshiping the mountains, volcanoes, thunder and lightning, and again the sea, and the wind. Then man has always had a reverence for things that he does not know, things that are hidden from him.

When Paul went to Mars Hill, in Athens Greece, he found alters to every god known to them. He even found an alter that was dedicated to the unknown god. The god that they did not know was YAHWEH. This book is dedicated to helping all people, everywhere, to find YAHWEH, and to ending their search.

I believe in God; and I believe that if anyone had experienced the things that I have experienced with God, they would believe in Him too.

The things that we believe in are the things that we have some kind of association with. Our beliefs occupy space within our minds, and they send us on a search for those things that are compatible with those beliefs. We long for confirmation. There is a strong resistance to those things that tend to supplant our established beliefs. Therefore, we need to scrutinize those things in which we place our faith. We need to divide those things into different categories.

    1.   The things that we suppose

    2.   The things that we think

    3.   The things that people who we believe in believe

    4.   The things that we believe

    5.   The things that we believe in, or on

    6.   The things that we know to be true

    7.   The things that are proven to be true, based upon things that we believe, but are not necessarily true. (Built on sinking sand)

We don’t see pain, but we have some kind of association with it; so we believe in them. We don’t see electrons, but we see what they do; so we believe in them. We can’t see magnetism or gravity, but we can see the effects of these on different objects, so we believe in them.

There are two things that are said over and over in the Bible: Behold, and He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. The things that we know and believe in, are the things that we have looked for, and have beheld; or the things that we have listened to, and have heard; things that we have come to understand. People’s faith is made up of the things that they are hoping, and evidence of things that they cannot see. It’s called a belief system. These are things that people depend on, and hope that they are right.

When a couple gets married, they are showing trust in their spouse, and hope that their marriage lasts. When there is a person whom you consider to be your friend, you have in some way, bound yourself to that person; and you are hoping that they will always prove to be a friend. There may come a time when you discover that that person, in whom you have placed your trust, is proven not to be your friend, but instead an enemy.

Sometimes we believe in things that are solid, steadfast, and unmovable; and then again we may believe in things that even from the very beginning, were not very trustworthy. If we had beheld, perhaps we would have seen it; and if we had listened and heard, we would have understood that this thing or person couldn’t be trusted.

The chair that looks weak, and that one that you have seen to let others down, and about which you have heard that it has failed to hold others up, is a chair that can’t be trusted.

When you believe, and really do believe, in things or people that are untrustworthy, those beliefs stand in the way of your progress, and your true destiny. Therefore, false beliefs are very detrimental to the well being of anyone who holds these false beliefs to be dear to their heart. In your heart is where it all happens. Everything that you see in this world came out of somebody’s heart.

If any god is to emerge as the one and only true God, he must meet these criteria:

    1.   He must be beyond our ability to understand:

    2.   He must be intelligent, beyond our wildest imaginations:

    3.   He must not have to give account to anyone:

    4.   He must transcend every law that there is:

    5.   He must not be limited by time and space:

    6.   He must have imagined everything that is:

    7.   He must have created everything that is:

    8.   He must know how everything that He created works:

    9.   He must be able to communicate with everything that He made:

    10.   1He must not need help from anything that He has made:

YAHWEH is that God, and it is icing on the cake, for this God to tell us how and when he did all of these things, and to offer us proof of His existence, through fulfilled prophecy, and through miracles, signs, and wonders. And it is nothing short of mind blowing, for this great God to communicate with us, and to enter into agreements with us; thus binding, or obligating Himself, to perform the things that He had promised. This challenges us to prove Him. I believe in the Lord our God, and I believe in His Son Jesus.

The book whose time has come; it’s about time:

For many years I have been mindful to write a book that glorifies our Lord. I had even started writing it several times, but I didn’t get very far, in writing it.

Now I believe I know what prevented me from completing that book before now. It is because the book was more about me than it should have been.

The Spirit of God has reminded me, that if I am trying to write a book that glorifies Him, then people should not come away, after reading that book exalting me. They should come away being in awe of God almighty. After all, all of the things worth writing about are the things that He has done.

The scripture teaches us in Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. I might interject here; that it is recorded in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Because there are many different translations of the Bible, I must let you know that all of the scriptural references in this book will be from the Authorized King James Bible.

The reason that I use this version of the Bible is first of all; when it is quoted it is universally recognizable. Secondly, I believe that when people say that they can’t understand the King James Version, they are just being lazy; you don’t understand any other version either, unless it is revealed to you. Judas saw the works of Jesus with his own eyes, and did not understand. Many of the Priests, Pharisees, and Scribes also saw those works and did not understand either.

Moreover I believe that the King James translators were more capable of being correct in their translations than those of more recent years. Languages of living peoples are living languages, and they change over a period of time.

The people who lived closer to those times are more able to understand the meaning of their words.

I also believe that we must be careful, because the Word of God is the most precious gift that the Lord has given to man. It reveals to us the only Living and true God, tells us of our beginning, and establishes a unique relationship with YAHWEH, our God, and teaches us how to have eternal life, and to live with Him. Satan knows this, and is competing with God, and will take advantage of every opportunity to distort the Word of God.

How many English translations are there anyway? Does it really take that many to make the Word of God easy to be understood? As a matter of fact, it causes more confusion. And by the way, we know that some translations were written to change the way people think, and to sway them to the translator’s way of thinking.

Many years ago my friend the late Dr. Isaac Green, who had served as treasurer of the National Baptist Convention USA Inc., while he was pastor of the Central Baptist Church in Pittsburgh Pa., pleaded with me, Jemmie, write those things down. Don’t let them die with you. People need to hear those things.

I must write this book because early in my ministry, my experiences with the Lord were so awesome. Yet I had taken them all in stride and kept them mostly to myself. Eventually I began to forget them. I didn’t talk about them very much, hardly at all. So much so, that whenever I heard other people, on the radio, or television, tell of their experiences with God, I would say to the Lord, "Lord why don’t I have some of those experiences. Then the Lord brought back to my memory all of the things that He had done to me, with me, and through me; and I was ashamed, because I had forgotten.

The Lord be my witness, when I remembered, I realized that of all the things that I heard of the Lord doing in other peoples lives, none of them surpassed the things that He was doing in my life, at least up until that time.

The Lord is not pleased when we fail to give Him the glory.

In Mark 6:31-52, after Jesus fed the 5000 men with only two little fishes and five loaves of bread, and the disciples gathered twelve baskets of leftovers, He immediately, verses 45-46 constrained His disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while He sent away the people. And when He had sent them away, He departed into a mountain to pray.

The Lord sent them out on the Sea of Galilee, knowing all the time that there was a terrible storm scheduled to arrive on the sea, just about the time that they were in the middle of the sea. If the storm had not been scheduled, He scheduled one, just for them. The disciples had left before nightfall, but Jesus let them toil all night long, even though He could see them having trouble, until He came walking on the water, and calmed the storm. Jesus was not pleased with them, Mark 6:52 For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened. God forbid that I should not appreciate the miracles and the works of the Lord, lest I should fail to give Him the glory. Our Lord has done great things, and we should not fail to give Him the Glory.

The miracle of birth, bearing fruit after one’s own kind, the miracle of multiplying, is no doubt, one of the greatest wonders of all time; the ability of a species, to reproduce itself. That ability is due to a law of nature, a law that was legislated by the Lord God Himself.

Genesis1:11, And God said, let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth; and it was so.

Genesis 1:21-22, And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind, and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

Genesis 1:24-25, And God said, let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:26-28, And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Whenever the Lord said let, it was a command to everything that existed, not to hinder, nor even try to prevent it from coming to pass. And when the Lord said to man and woman to be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, that was a command, that empowered them to bear fruit after their own kind, and for it’s fruit to also bear fruit, and to fill the earth, and to take command over all living things of the earth. However man is in command under the Lord God almighty.

Thus God is the Law Giver, and the Lord is the first cause. Time is a sequence of events, and time is determined according to the things that the Lord created, and set in motion, according to His laws. Light is the result of electrons and photons, which the Lord spoke into existence, and darkness is blockage of light.

    PART 1:

THE LORD SENDS A MESSAGE TO THE WORLD

    Chapter 1

The Origin, Form, and Initial Effect of God’s Message.

Let me share with you, the letter from God, and explain how it came to be.

A Genesis experience at Genesis Baptist Church, Sacramento, California.

In 1997 on Mother’s Day, I was sitting in the pulpit of the Genesis Baptist Church in Sacramento, California. My wife, Marie, and I were visiting the church. The late Dr. Robert Porter, who was then the pastor of Genesis Church, was preaching the morning message.

Robert Porter was a friend of mine whom I had met in 1975 at JFK Airport. I had joined five other pastors who were members of a team going to Liberia, West Africa, on a Christian campaign to win souls for Jesus Christ.

After getting to know him, I would ask Reverend Porter to preach for our revival each year at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, in Midland, Pennsylvania. He would also invite me to come and preach at his church, the Shiloh Baptist Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.

In 1977, Reverend Porter and I traveled together again, this time with a team of twelve other pastors on a missionary campaign to Nigeria, Africa. Our team was blessed to see nearly eleven thousand people accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior while we were there. Praise God. I wonder what they have done for Christ, since then. When my wife Marie and I got married in 1995, it was in the Genesis Baptist Church, and Dr. Porter performed the ceremony.

The Lord instructed me to write.

I was sitting on the platform May 11, 1997, and while the man of God was preaching, the Lord spoke to me, not through his preaching, but the Lord spoke directly to me, apart from the sermon, and said, I want you to write a letter for me to the world. I said that I would. While I was sitting there, and all day long, there was a burning deep inside me. I couldn’t stop thinking about what the Lord had told me to do for him.

Pastor Porter had asked me if I would be willing to come back next Sunday and give the morning message. I assured him that I would be glad to. After he and Hazel, his wife, his family, my wife, and I went to a restaurant to enjoy a nice Mother’s Day meal, my wife and I returned home to Santa Clara.

The next day, the Lord awakened me early, and His Spirit came upon me, and I began to write the Letter from God. On the next Sunday I delivered The Letter from God, for the first time anywhere, when I preached at the Genesis Baptist Church.

I later typed the letter on my word processor. Since then, I have printed thousands of copies of the letter, and my wife and I have distributed them across the country.

    Chapter 2

A Personal Letter from God, to Anyone Who Will Receive It

    A LETTER FROM GOD

    My Dear Child,

I call you my child, not because I have fellowship with you nor because you serve me; but because I made you, and I am responsible for you. I am writing you this letter because it is urgent. The time is passing, and the end of this age is near. I love you and don’t want you to perish. It is necessary that you understand who I am. If you know who I am, then you can better comprehend what you must do. I am a Spirit, and they who come to me must worship me in spirit and truth.

Before there was a where or when, I began to create. Creation is the beginning of time, and in the beginning I created the heaven and the earth. I made everything that was made. I made everything that you can see, feel, hear, taste, smell, or detect. I also made the things that you cannot see, feel, hear, taste, smell, or detect.

The inhabitants of the earth had forsaken me, and I had to destroy it by water twice. The second time, I preserved mankind by providing a way for my servant Noah and his family to escape.

I formed my son, Adam, caused him to stand up alive, and placed him in the garden that I had made for him. I intended for him to live forever, be at peace with and have authority and dominion over his world. I put no other burden upon him but that he would believe whatever I said unto him.

I made man a free-will agent with a mind capable of figuring things out and making good decisions, and of coming to good conclusions whenever he considers all things, all of the facts. Then people can come to the knowledge of the truth. I wanted Adam to have the opportunity to decide whether or not to serve me—by his own choice. For this reason, I placed in the garden eastward in Eden, two trees: the tree of life and tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

The tree of life bore fruit that, if a person ate it, could cause the person to live. This one-of-a-kind tree was also capable of revealing the heart of man. The tree was symbolic of the liberty that I intended for man and was accessible, available, and should have been desirable. Adam and Eve were free to, at any time, partake of that fruit and live forever because I had declared it.

I also made accessible unto Adam the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and I made it pleasant to the eyes. However I commanded Adam not to eat the fruit of this tree. I warned him not to touch it, because the day that he would eat of it, he would die.

I also suffered another voice and opinion to be heard by him, a voice of someone competing with me for Adam’s loyalty. I permitted Lucifer, that fallen, rebellious angel to persuade him to rebel against the one who loved him so much and wanted him to live forever.

Although that devil had done nothing for him, Adam believed Satan and Adam, by his actions, was calling me, the Eternal a liar. In Adam’s heart, he accused me of deception and fear of losing my glory to him.

Satan had claimed that he would win over my people, become their god, and steal my glory. Satan promised Adam, through his wife, Eve, that they would have the glory that I had enjoyed and that they would no longer be dependent upon me.

What a damnable lie! You all now know that knowing good and evil did not equip man to do the good and shun the evil. Instead of obtaining the glory that I enjoy, he lost the glory that I had freely given him. All have sinned and come short of my glory, and the wages of sin is death.

So I am writing this love letter to you, my child, to let you know that I love you. Although your father, Adam, called me a liar, by his actions; I am giving you as an individual the opportunity to be released from Adam’s curse, and to demonstrate that you believe my word and my love for you.

I am giving you the chance to realize and acknowledge that I, and I alone, am the one and only one, living and true God, and beside me there is
