There’s an oft-quoted slogan about faith: “Faith begins where reason ends”. On the surface, this may sound wise, but in reality, it misrepresents biblical faith as separate from reason.
What is faith?
Simply put, “faith” means complete trust or confidence in someone or something. We often use the word this way, such as “I have faith in you”, or “I have faith the chair will hold me”. Although this use is correct, it’s incomplete, because biblical faith goes beyond feelings or a basic trust in someone or something that can fail us.
