My Poetry Treasures: With Words of Love and Beautiful Visions

This book is full of pages of wisdom. Memories of the authors life,
of her parents, children, and grandchildren fill the pages of all her many treasures this author has written for her book.

As a Starlite Caf member on the Internet this author has been able to compete in many challenges and even win some of the contests. She has a chapter of all her entries and winning poems in this book.

The author likes to write inspirational poems. Being a very compassionate person she writes of Mother Nature, Love, and Animals and of life in general. Sometimes she writes of fantasy and magical dreams and many humorous stories.

Her late husband, Frank A. Pellegrino also an author of poetry always inspired her and she promised him she would do her best to carry on his legacy of writing poems. One chapter is a tribute to his iife and how she found a way to say good-bye as he entered his eternal home.

This author hopes that all who read this book would find a lot of pleasure and enjoyment as they read her many pages of written treasures she is sharing with husband, family and friends too.

. Aliceanne Pellegrino-Henricks was born in Bloomington, Indiana and lived there until 2001 when she married Frank A Pellegrino and moved to Niagara Falls, New York. After her late husband’s death in 2006, She remarried George B. Henricks in 2009 on Valentine’s Day. A beautiful life of love and togetherness makes for their happy marriage. The author is a mother of two children, Tim L. Gilmore and Marianne Gilmore, Jordan. Both children gave her two Grandsons, Timothy Lewis Gilmore II and Zachary Michael Jordan. The author is the daughter of William A. and Virginia A. Davidson, also of Bloomington and now deceased. She has 4 brothers, William M. [Ellettsville] Edward L. [now deceased] Larry C. [Bloomington], and John M. Davidson [South Carolina]. The author is a Graduate of Bloomington High School and attended Indiana University. Her degree is in the field of Optometry with an emphasis on children’s learning disabilities and teaching how to get the eye and brain working together. Her desire is to write a book on “The Confusion Between the Eye and the Brain”. The author likes to writes about her children, grandchildren and the beauty of life, nature and love. I dedicate this book to my loving husband, George B. Henricks, who is the love of my life. His encouragement

everyday has made it possible for me to carry on my late husbands legacy of writing poetry. I have been gifted

with a talent of writing, compassion for others, and a strong desire to excel as an author. Without George, I could not have been able to be successful.

CHAPTER I

INSPIRATIONAL POEMS

GOD’S PRECIOUS GIFTS

One cannot count the raindrops or the stars at night,

The number of clouds high in the sky is a beautiful sight.

One cannot count the ripples in a stream moving in each breeze,

Nor can we count the pebbles or leaves on every tree.

What truly matters is the number of little things

Is the beauty and joy that each gift God brings.

God washes away our troubles and takes away our pain,

He is always with us as we walk in the rain.

He handles the hardships and troubles in our homes,

No problem is too big for God no matter where we roam.

We reach out to God for blessings and to show us His light

He sends us rays of hope and sunshine to make it through each day and night.

One cannot count the raindrops or the stars at night

But we are always blessed with everything God gives us in sight.

What is always a special blessing are the precious little things,

With all the beauty and joy that each gift God will bring.

At the break of dawn there appears in the eastern sky

A part of all the golden sun that breezes and whispers by.

Every time I pick a beautiful rose, its wonder fills my soul,

One of God’s miracles with gentle and sweet respose.

God’s gifts are miracles I feel very sure they are for me and you,

God quietly blesses the earth beneath the heavenly skies of blue.

RECOGNIZING GOD’S GIFTS TO US

Each day on earth that I live I can see

What a great world God has made for you and me

I see the birds and beautiful butterflies flying so free,

The rainbows are shining high above the trees.

I marvel thinking God made and gave these beauties to me.

So many things we take granted that God made and gives freely.

The farmer’s plant but God made grow the rows of yellow corn,

He allows the sunrise to come up each and every morn.

As I look out my windowpanes I can appreciate the glow,

Even in the wintertime his reflecting light shines upon the snow.

All the little spider webs are outlined in the dew,

Our precious Lord even helped to make these too.

Our world, even in chaos, is full of everything,

Man needs to open their hearts and happily sing.

Yes, every day here on earth that I live I can find

A beauty full of life to appreciate, of all different kinds.

From God’s point of view, it is very plain to see,

God has gone the extra mile for you and me.

WALKING WITH GOD DOWN THROUGH THE YEARS

A lifetime can be glorious though we can’t see down the years

In my little private moments He knows my joys and sees my tears,

While we are talking to God, our lord can see it all.

Whether soft or hard times He guards me from my falls.

When I sometimes feel lonely, He guides the path that I should take,

Though many paths may be hard He says it is for my own sake.

When I talk to God, mistakes he doesn’t want me to repeat

He fills my heart with assurances and gets me back on my feet.

I take my disappointments as I call upon Him and His hand,

I never fight against his will for I know he gives me a good plan.

He reminds me I’m his child and He loves me very much with each test,

God says one day I will know that all was for the best.

What make life even fuller is talking to God in love and prayerful ways,

I’m thankful He has protected me and led my feet to paths of today.

Walking with God and sharing my heart as loving Him comes first,

Yes I walk and talk to God to quench my lonely thirst.

When I talk with God each day, He fills a void that is here,

He helps me find my heart’s desires and takes away all my fears.

While I walk with God down through the years, later I will recall,

Some things were not as they appeared but God could see it all.

GOD GIVES WINGS TO ANGELS

God gives wings to Angels and I can clearly see,

God has sent one special Angel to watch over me.

My Angel tells me I’m guarded every day and will always be there

My Angel protects and keeps me under God’s special care.

God sends us Guardian Angels from Heaven above,

Angels remind us of God’s undying love.

Angels comfort and cheer us up whenever we are sad;

Angels can change our gloomy days into one that is glad.

God give wings to Angels so we can see the light,

Angels can guide us all through the darkness of any night.

With God’s Angel touching my heart happiness to me my

Angel sings, Yes, God sent us His sweet Angels who spread their wings.

Guardian Angel spread your wings as night is falling dark and cold,

Please watch over me, keep me safe as I await the sun’s first gold.

Now appearing in the sky are countless birds their songs we shall employ,

Until the gray twilight shadows flee and the earth resounds with joy.

As God’s Angels keep guard over you and me,

We can feel God’s peace so very loving and tenderly.

Tell me sweet Angel with wings, where you came from there are no tears,

Let me feel all the love from God, the one who sent you here.

THE POWER OF PRAYER

I believe in the power of prayers and say them everyday

It matter not what Faith you believe in, so don’t be afraid to pray.

God admonishes us to pray and He will answer you all the time,

It may not be today or tomorrow but in His due time.

Some say they know not how to pray or words to use in praying,

It matters not how or what we say it is praying and believing.

God hears our every word in prayer all the time,

Whether short, long or traditional He hears every line.

I’m sharing some of my special prayers that I pray,

Some are prayers I taught my children to say.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in Heaven,

Hallowed it be Thy name

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done,

On Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

And forgive us our debts,

As we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

For thine is the Kingdom

And the Power And the Glory forever. Amen

PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING

Thank You, God

Thank you God for all that grows,

Thank you for the sky’s rainbows,

Thank you for the stars that shine,

Thank you for these friends of mine,

Thank you for the moon and sun,

Thank you God for all you’ve done!

Dear Jesus,

I beg You to give Your special graces to our family.

May our home be a place of peace, holiness and love.

Omnipotent and eternal God,

the everlasting Salvation of those who believe,

hear us on behalf of Thy sick servant, [name],

for whom we beg the aid of Thy pitying mercy,

that, with his/her bodily health restored,

he/she may give thanks to Thee in Thy church.

A WORLD GIVEN TO US BY GOD

Did you know God colors the sky with rainbows?

He paints the heavenly skies blue,

God waters the earth with raindrops,

He sprinkles the green grass with dew.

God tints the leaves of trees with many shaded hues,

Some are amber, brown, and yellow also some a vibrant red.

God lays the grass of green down like smooth velvet,

So he can cover and provide the earth’s soft bed.

God touches all the silken petals

All the flowers that are so pure and fair,

The have a fragrance that floats gently,

Especially upon the morning air.

God sends rays of golden sunshine,

So he can warm and help things grow.

In the still of the bitter cold winter,

They can rest beneath the white snow.

God’s world to us is many things,

For sure God wanted us all to see,

For God gift to us is his wisdom and also his great love,

For all the people to receive like you and for me.

ANGELS HAVE WINGS

If Angels have wings I would soar up above,

Bringing you hugs and kisses with love.

If Angels have wings I would soar like an eagle

I would smile with you and all Heaven’s people.

If Angels have wings I would be your favorite one

I would spread my wings soaring around the moon and sun.

If Angels have wings they would fly upside down,

They would show you everything so you won’t frown.

If Angels have wings and I feel they truly do,

Their halos and wings will glorify you.

If Angels are Guardians from God above,

Then Guardian Angels give you my love.

If Angels are Guardians with halos shining bright,

Then my Guardian Angel is you every night.

If Angels are Guardians and our hearts they touch

I pray and thank God each day for them very much.

If Angels are Guardians that spread their wings

They will bring your love to me and all living things.

Yes, Angels have wings and are Guardian Angels for us;

They keep us together in spirit without any fuss.

EARNING MY WINGS LIKE AN EAGLE

I can fly higher than an eagle,

These words have been sung and spoken by people.

Eagles have wings and so do other birds,

Humans want them and want to be heard.

God gives us wings that only flutter,

They are Angel wings so we can stay out of the gutter.

Angel wings are not visible to all,

But they are there to not let us fall.

Believing in Guardian Angels with wings,

Is a gift from God and other Angelic things?

We spread our wings not like an eagle,

By reaching out to help other people.

Pilots earn their wings as they fly the friendly skies,

We trust the Angels that guide their arms and eyes.

God wants us to mount up like eagles and not feint,

Be diligent and move mountains like a saint.

Guardian Angels are a gift from God up above,

They are with us daily and sent with God’s love.

I can fly higher than an Eagle is my dream in this poem,

To be lifted up with Angel’s wings when God calls me home.

NO MATTER WHAT WE CAN FIND JOY

Ever think what really gives you joy?

As a child it might be a new toy.

How does one truly feel joy?

Like the first date a girl has with a boy.

Is joy something you see or feel

Sometimes both when you are behind the wheel.

Is joy something big or small?

No matter what joy is often big and you feel ten feet tall.
