About this ebook

To God be the glory for the things he has done. He has done great things.
I bring you greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
This book is written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It begins with memories of my struggle as a child learning to survive living in a life of poverty, where my mother did everything she could to take care of her children. It also depicts my enthusiasm to strive to be a breadwinner at an early age. The recording of the dreams started from a dream in which the Spirit spoke to me. Its sole purpose is to encourage those who have made a conscious decision to live according to the word of God that they are not alone. We are going to have trials and tribulations in this walk of life. Don't give up. God is always there with you. Even during the most difficult challenges of your life. Jesus said I will never leave you nor forsake you. I will be with you until the very end. Although we cannot see him, He has a way of revealing Himself to us. The assurance that God is with you is shown by the manifestation of how he places his angels around you to protect, encourage, and minister to your every need. In this book, you will read about the times in my life which God has revealed himself to me through angelical beings spiritually and physically. Through struggles and life challenges, they have been with me all the way. They were either by vision or physical existence. Hold on to your dreams and keep the vision alive.

Hebrews 13:5 says, Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

    Life as a child

I was born in Louisville Georgia on May 7, 1963. I was born to the late Jimmie Lee and Alzora Cooper Habersham. To that union seven children were born. I am the fifth child out of a total of seven children. I am the only boy, and have six sisters. Two of my sisters have preceded me in death. Through the course of my life, I have always witnessed my mother struggle to make ends meet. My mama never made it past the sixth grade in school. She could not read and write as well as her younger siblings. Mama didn’t have a job, so she would clean the house of many of the local residents for a few dollars and whatever leftover foods that they would give her. Because we couldn’t afford a car, I remember her hitchhiking for rides to get to the neighboring city to work in others homes. Sometimes it would be dark before she returned home in the evening. She was referred to as a domestic worker. Some may call it being a maid, others may call it housekeeping. That was her profession. Sometimes with the little money that she made, she would always think of a way to provide for us children.

I remember mama ordering approximately fifty to one hundred baby chicks for a few months to raise for food. Many of the baby chicks did not survive therefore; she had to order them over again and again. The chickens were kept in the chicken yard with a chicken coop and a hen house. Once the chicks reached a certain size, we always had something to eat. We separated the roosters from the hens. Some of the hens were productive in laying eggs which was an added benefit. We also had a pigpen where we raised our own hogs. Whenever the sows would have pigs, my sisters and I would claim one for ourselves. We would challenge each other to see whose pig would grow the fastest. I had my own pig to feed and I named him Pine rooter. Pine rooter was the runt of the liter, but he grew up to be one huge sire.

It was a sad day when we had to kill Pine rooter for food. It was also a joyful day because everyone in the community would come together and make it a festive day. Grandma would put her big cast iron pots on some rocks. All the smaller children would gather wood to make a fire. Once the fires were started, the men that were assigned to kill the hogs knew what they had to do. Sometimes there were at least four hogs. Once the hogs were killed, there were many other things going on as well. As the hogs were being cleaned and washed, there were other men preparing to butcher the hogs into various cuts of meats. We had pork chops, ham, blade steaks, ham hocks, neck bones, pig tails, fat back, and bacon. Whatever you could make they made it. In grandma old pots, she would take the fat and make lard, cracklings, and potash soap. The intestines were used as chitterlings and encased with ground pork to make sausages. Nothing was wasted. Even the hooves were used to make a tea when we came down with a cold. The hogs head was used to make a stew, hash, and some good ole hog head cheese. Those were the good days. That is what you call a community coming together. Nobody left empty handed.

My daddy worked on a farm as a farm hand. He didn’t provide us with much because he didn’t make much. He was more interested in his guns, chasing the ladies and fighting. Occasionally, he did sale a little moonshine. I am confident that he did the best that he could under the circumstances that he was facing. When he wasn’t in jail, or when mama allowed him to stop by and visit; I do remember him bringing us some wildlife that he may have killed such as rabbits or raccoons, and sometimes opossums. My mama sure knew how to make a meal out of those animals.

I can also remember countless other times of going to bed hungry. Mama tried to do the best she could to take care of us. We lived in a wooden house with no indoor plumbing. You could see the ground from broken or rotted floor boards. There were many times in which we didn’t have any electricity. When it rained, we had to put buckets on the floor to catch the water that came through the leaky tin roof. Some of the same water was used for bathing. Because we didn’t have running water, we had to take our baths in a large tin wash tub. We had a choice when it came to using the toilet. There were no indoor toilets so we had to use a slop jar at nighttime. This was discarded the next day. During the daytime, we used the outhouse that was located behind the house. That was one of the most difficult things about not having the luxuries that many have today

During the cold winter months, I learned how to use an axe very well. I would go out in the wooded areas with my mother, and we would chop down some trees and would drag them home; and later chop them up into fire wood. Sometimes mama would manage to pay someone to cut some logs and deliver them to the house.

Chopping wood and splitting logs was a hard task. One thing that I enjoyed about gathering wood for the winter season was to look for lighter wood. I enjoyed searching for lighter wood. Lighter wood was sort of like kerosene if you did not have any. It tree stomps were composed of a thick sap from decomposing pine trees. Once
