Chapter One
Our story begins with a beautiful woman named Sybil Jenkins. Sybil is very intelligent with a nice personality. She is known for her great shape and smile. She works as a counselor at Legal Aid, and has been married for five years to a wonderful man named Pete, so she thought.
Everyone adored her. She wore a short feather cut hairdo, which she kept up every week along with manicures and pedicures. The lady was very classy, as well as independent.
Sybil always had a mind of her own and followed her heart. Most of the time, she was doing more for others than herself. She was infatuated with a guy named Pete Stevens. Pete and Sybil’s courtship goes back to childhood days. They met each other when they were age ten. Pete would always pick and tease her. She hated his guts. But, they became friends and looked out for one another. Sybil is the baby of two children, Charles and herself. Pete was a friend of her brother Charles. Charles would always say that they would end up together, and they did just that.
Pete was one of the most attractive men in the neighborhood. He had big broad shoulders, muscular built, he wore all the fashion clothes, kept his haircut and groomed. He was truly a ladies man. Also, he was the Class President of the High School.
Pete had an ego problem. He felt that everyone was beneath him and that he could do no wrong. He felt like people owed him something; since he was used to getting what he wanted anyway. Pete only hung with people that were on his level of thinking, acting, and dressing. He would become angry with people who did not agree with the way he lived his life. To Pete, he was never wrong about anything. He truly thought he was perfect in every way.
Sybil always had a little crush on him, but will not let it show. She always wanted to date him, but did not want to become another girl on his list. It was prom time and Sybil did not have a date. All of her girlfriends had dates and was questioning her on who she was going with. The first person that came to her mind was Pete. But, she was so afraid to approach him to ask, so she put her brother up to do it for her. Charles ran into Pete and informed him that Sybil’s prom is coming up and she needed a date. I know you are interested, Charles said. You’ve been lusting over her for years. Pete smiled and said; Sure, I would love to take your sister to the prom, no problem.
Pete became very excited, due to the fact he always wanted to date Sybil, but never had the chance to do so. The prom was the perfect opportunity to finally get her to himself and alone.
Pete called Sybil on the phone and asked her did she have a date for the prom? Knowing that she didn’t, he just wanted to see how she would respond.
Sybil was so surprised she did not know exactly what to say. Her heart fell and she was extremely nervous. She responded that she did not have a date, but would he be interested in escorting her. Pete responded, of course I would love to chaperone you to the prom. Of course, this made her so excited that she could barely keep her composure and talk. He asked, are you still there? She said, Yes.
Pete asked her can you tell me the colors, so I can match my tuxedo with your gown. Sybil stated the colors were gold and brown. Once she hung up the phone she said, Wow, yeah, that’s what I am talking about.
Prom night arrived Pete showed up at the house in a Cadillac with corsage in hand. Her parents were very impressed on his entrance. He spoke to them and asked? Is Sybil ready to go? Mrs. Jenkins called out to her and when she came down the stairs, all eyes were on her, and Sybil looked like a princess going to the ball with her gold lace evening gown and shoes to match. Pete was mesmerized; he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Hello Pete,
she said, Hi Sybil, you look breathtaking. Sybil smiled and thanked him for the compliment. You look real nice yourself and the colors match perfectly. After taking several pictures, the couple was
