About this ebook

I was inspired to write the poems in this book from experience in real life our loss and its
lessons from which we learn. The elements we deal with in our journey through life. Our
family, friends, love and faith. A special thanks to the people of hospice that help you care for a love one. My wife Betty had A.L.S. for four years before I lost her. I was able to care for her at the home she was a special lady. My poetry got me through this sad time.

Most of the poetry was inspired by the fact that I had just lost my second wife Betty to a heart breaking illness A.L.S. I took care of my loving wife at home for four heartbreaking years till she passed away in 2009. She was a very special lady. We were married almost twenty years. My first wife Darlene and I were married for forty years she died of breast cancer. This was after a four year battle. My second wife Betty took care of her husband Don for four years before he passed away. Don had lung and brain cancer also died at home with Betty’s loving care. That was in 1984 I knew Don and Betty for almost thirty five years they lived down the street from me. And my first wife Darlene. I was in construction and so was Don. We worked on a lot of jobs together for over thirty years. He was my friend. Betty and Don had a 1946 Jeep they sand dragged in on week ends. While both Don and Darlene were going through chemotherapy we visited at the hospital at the same time. I didn’t see Betty for some time. Then one day she stopped to see how I was with my loss. I asked about her loss. She said I need you to lean on also. Later we went out to dinner and that started a beautiful relationship. And we got married. We bought a motor home and traveled the U.S.A. We had such a great time together. She was a very special lady and I loved her dearly. When he passed away I had her laid by her fi rst love Don. I will lay by my fi rst wife Darlene. At my passing once a month I place flower on there graves. Writing poetry is good therapy for me. I am now eighty one it is rare in this lifetime to have two special loves I am truly blessed. I will be with them again one day. I don’t know what I would have done without the help of hospice God bless them.

    The Poem

The poem lets your soul roam free

Your thoughts go on and let you see

The person that you really are

    Shining brightly like a star

Each a copy of our creator

To be here now not later

    To do what’s expected sometimes

Life’s a poem that often rhymes

But given a chance to change our ways

    Life’s fulfillment on better days

    And when things go wrong

Write a poem or sing a song

We dream of things that are good

Of what we do and what we should

    Boundless beauty here for all

    Mountains and rivers

    Trees so tall

The poem shares our deepest fears

Our happy times and even tears

Our guardian angel is right behind

To give us all peace of mind.

The poem in this book are from my heart

    Note.

The way I think and am a part

Its hard to speak in words

    That show

But only in a poem that will flow
