     Nature’s Law (1) God’s love!

Nature has generously equipped most animals with a sixth sense of things that maybe harmful to them. Their survival depends on recognizing a danger in time to avoid it, but good old mother nature did not endow the frog with that gift. It seems she over-looked a serious flaw in his warning system, that sometimes prove fatal. Did you know that if a frog is placed inside of a pan of warm water, in which the heat is being raised gradually, the frog would make no attempt to escape? Since he is a cold blooded creature, his bodies temperature remains approximately the same as the water in which he is placed. He does not notice the slow change that takes place as the temperature intensifies. The frog remains oblivious to his current danger, he could easily hop his way to safety, but he is unaware, blinded to the penalties which comes along with ignorance. He will just sit there as the smoke curls around his little green body. Eventually! The boiling frog will succumb to an unnecessary death, that could have easily been avoided.

Since as far back as I can remember I have been in and out of confinement, but this one time stands out to me the most. The year was 1986, I was sixteen years old then. I walked into a service station with a friend of mine to buy a few things so well at least that’s what I thought. All I can remember is this friend pulled a gun and demanded for the employee to give him all the money. I was so startled I fled from the store, leaving my friend behind. I don’t know at what point the police began to chase me, but they did, and I eventually was caught. By me being a minor they took me to the city jail and placed me in a holding cell. The Montgomery City Jail is surrounded by a grave yard, except for the front, and the right side. The cell I was placed in window looked directly out into the grave yard. I stayed in my bed alnight staring out that window, watching the fog billow around the headstones, at one point of the night I saw a huge rat that at first I mistook to be a crawling corpse. I was so afraid I immediately jumped out of my bed, fell to my knees and began to ask the Lord for deliverance! People, as I was praying…the door to my cell opened up a small fraction. Fear overtook me and I hid my face from the Lord and buried my head beneath my covers. From that day, the pan of water called, my life, began to boil.

We as human beings tend to become excited over sudden dangers such as: war, epidemics, earthquakes, and ect…! However if a threatening problem arises very slowly, perhaps over a decade or two, we often allow ourselves to boil in happy ignorance. This blindness to gradual disaster, is best illustrated by the way we have ignored the turmoil that is spreading systematically through the younger generation of Americans. We have passively accepted a slowly deteriorating youth without uttering a croak of protest. Suppose the parents of yesterday could make a brief visit to our world! Certainly they would be dismayed by the juvenile problems which we have permitted to become wide-spread (and they are spreading even wider through urban America!) Narcotic usage by American juveniles are indiscribale. The danger is now getting publicity. The adults who have not worked with teenagers recently to what degree this activity has infiltrated adolescent society. In the past few decades things have really gotten out of hand. In the 60’s there were exactly 3,500 juvenile arrests for narcotic usage in the state of Alabama alone. People, I have never used drugs, but I have some handsome brothers out there. They have allowed drugs to take over their life. With the talents my brothers have, they should be millionaires right now! But they won’t let their best friend go! They best friend has been keeping them down for a long time, and they know it. They just can’t come up out of it.

Kids look…drugs are a addictive habit that stays with you for many years. You may think it won’t affect you, but let me put it all out on the table for y’all. You won’t receive anything from this friend, no house, no car, no land, or nothing! So what can you get out of this friend called drugs? Nothing! Nothing! Nothing! Do y’all really see this picture? Drugs ain’t doing nothing for y’all, but keeping you down and out. Your money is making the drug dealer rich! You’re paying for his big house and his flashy cars, but what about yourself? I bet a penny to a dollar, that the same drug dealer you buy from wouldn’t loan you a hundred dollars to save your life. Why can’t y’all see this picture? Your friend don’t care about you! What they care about is what they can get out of you! This message isn’t just for the kids. Its for everyone whose a slave
