I Broke Out Of Prison - Raittia Rogers

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to any person that is struggling with feeling trapped. Anyone that grew up not hearing the words I love you, you are smart, beautiful, handsome, you're going to make it, you'll be great someday, or that you can be anything you want to be. Those who have been pushed out into this evil world that gives fake love and sells false hope. Anyone who has ran away; forced to learn to raise yourself at a young age looking for that love and affection, attention, and care in friends. This is for those who've been in gangs, stolen, had sex young, fought, been in trouble with the law, or have felt their life spiraling out of control. Those who have been trained to listen to the lies of the devil because of what they've been taught and that which they've been taught is all they’ve ever known.

You want out and want help. I believe I have been sent to help you and tell you the good news; to break the chains of bondage and reverse the curse over your life. The bible says in Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

The children of Israel rebelled against the Lord and wouldn’t listen and obey their leader Moses. It took them forty years to leave the wilderness, a voyage that should have been an 11-day journey because of their slave mentality. So fair warning, you'll remain stuck if you don’t repent of your sins and have a change of heart; following after God's plans instead of your own. God's ways are not like ours.

    Introduction

The devil is really wrecking people’s lives, selling them false hope, deceiving many of their very identity of who they’re really born to be, tricking people at all costs, putting an end to people’s very existence. People are committing crimes every single day around the whole world. It’s just that some get caught and some don’t, but we’ve all committed some type of sin or bad deed in our life. But the ones who thought they didn’t get caught God saw it and someway somehow, you've had to pay for what you've done.

The attacks of the devil are spiritual warfare; emotional, physical, spiritual and financial in all types of areas. His job is to liquidate or eradicate people's lives. John 10:10, The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill and to destroy. I come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly. Second Timothy 3:1-5, tells us This know also that in the last days perilous times shall come for men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents unthankful, unholy without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. Having a form of godliness but deny the power thereof from such turn away."

People do not have self-control and need God in their lives. People are fighting cases, being put in jail, on probation, and even sent to the penitentiary all due to a lack of self-control. It costs an average of more than $31,000 per inmate per year nationwide in some states it’s as much as $60,000. According to the US Bureau of Justice statistics, 2,220,300 of adults were incarcerated in US Federal and state prisons and county jails.¹ The United States has one of the highest rates of incarceration in the world. With 655 inmates per 100 thousand of population. Without effective evangelism and discipline, 87% of prisoners will be repeat offenders, returning back to a life of crime after release from prison.²

    CHAPTER

    ONE

    80’S BABY

My parents were married when I was a kid. I enjoyed going to church being taught of the Lord with my big brother and middle sister, but my younger sister wasn’t born yet. I remember seeing my dad on his knees speaking in tongues and crying out to God. He taught us the The Lord’s Prayer from scripture and how to pray that prayer every night. My sister, big brother & myself would kneel down & pray each night; it really made an impact on my life still to this day. I remember that prayer and still kneel down to pray it.

My mom and dad got a divorce and I remember living with my dad. We moved back and forth from one parent to another. One time over at my mom's apartment, I was downstairs sleeping on the couch when this older man, who is a relative, somehow broke in quietly. He sat on the couch next to me and started touching me asking me does it feel good right here or right there all while touching my top & private parts. I was only 6 or 7 years old when this happened. I felt so uncomfortable!

I don't remember where my mom was during this time, because she couldn't help me. My dad would often come by to visit & pick us up, but I didn't tell him because he would've killed him. One day my dad got into trouble with the law and went to prison for many years, shortly before he left, he picked us up and we all spent a few nights together. He cooked dinner, lasagna and peach cobbler, and it was bomb! I'll never forget that. After he got locked up, I moved in with my mom who was trying her best to raise four children while on drugs and alcohol. She had many boyfriends and friends, so we moved around to different places, but she kept us in school and took care of us- fed and clothed us. We also lived in different shelters.

I lived with my grandparents, John & Mamie McBee, for a long period of time as well. They really took good care of us. There was a lot of fighting with my sister and I over stupid things. One thing about us two was that we weren’t afraid of one another knowing that we’re just a stair-step apart, but we we’re still sisters, so we’d make up. My mom never encouraged us to duke it out with one another but to get along because sisters aren’t supposed to fight. She told us she didn't want us to scar up our pretty faces fighting one another, but I still grew up fighting a lot especially at school. We were taught that if you hit me first, it was on!

    Chapter

    Two

    Thug Life

When I was growing up, I remember a boy was ragging and talking about my mom while in elementary school, and back in the day you didn't clown anybody's momma without getting into it, so that boy sure wasn't getting away with that. After the bell rang, we fought hard and he ended up getting the best of me. The students on the bus watched and said things like, Wow, that was a good fight to beat him up like you did. Because everyone was giving me props, I earned a reputation around the school for fighting. It taught the other kids not to mess with me because I didn't bother anyone until they picked on me first. So, as I began to
