No More Hiding In Darkness - Nichelle Rolfe

    Chapter 1: A Family Affair

My name is Nichelle J. Neal Rolfe. I was born in Portland, Oregon on April 3rd, 1967. My journey has not been easy, but I made a way out of no way. This is a story of terror, survival, and salvation.

I was born to Beatrice Neal and a man that I did not get to know until I got much older. Neither one of them gave me the support I needed as a child but that is just the hands I was given. My mom never grew up, so she never left granddad's house. She was scarred because her mom died at an early age, so she wanted to be close to family for protection. His house was a melting pot everybody and their momma could stay there even my siblings and cousins. Everyone came to Mallory and Shaver dumping their garbage, drama, and bad energy. My grandfather was there for everyone, especially me, when my parents were not.

My grandmother died when I was two, so I did not really have a chance to get to know her. He then got with my grandmother's close friend after she died. I called her Big Momma. She was the sweetest lady I ever met. I loved that woman so much. My grandfather was my mentor and like a best friend to me. It was times where he became out of pocket, and I questioned our relationship.

I thought that taking baths with him and sleeping next to him was normal until he started to put his hands on my breasts and private parts. There was no doubt in my mind that my granddad loved me but what drives a man to touch on his granddaughter
