Scarlet Carson

Scarlet Carson was born in Georgia in the back seat of a Greyhound bus rollin' down Highway 41. She began writing at an early age, and graduated from both Macon College and the University of Georgia with degrees in English. Unfortunately, she discovered that English degrees don't mean much in the real world, and opted to channel her creative energies into writing short novels, which led to her winning the coveted Eagle Award. Today, she lives with her husband and two dogs on a farm in south Georgia, and embarrasses her family on a daily basis due to her erotic fiction.

    Chapter 1

You’re kidding, right? Ethan asked, looking incredulously at Cindy, then taking a bite of pizza. Monday was pizza night, and they had gotten their usual barbecue chicken pizza, and were eating while watching TV in the living room.

Amused, Cindy said, Nope. We got invited to learn square dancing. She then took a bite. Hot, she said, putting the slice of pizza back down on her plate. We’re always talking about doing something different. Well, this is different.

Ethan took another bite, and said, I took square dancing in college for a physical education credit. I hated it then.

It’s so hot. How can you eat it, Cindy said, watching Ethan chewing. She then tentatively took another bite.

I eat you, and you’re hot, Ethan said, looking appreciably at Cindy. Cindy was 38 years old, blonde, and, despite having an 18 year old daughter, still had a body that drew stares at the beach. Besides, it’s not good cold. Again, sorta like you.

Cindy ignored Ethan’s comments, and took a bite in earnest, enjoying the tanginess of the barbecue sauce. Seriously, though, she said after swallowing, I think it would be fun.

Ethan got up and walked to the kitchen to fetch another slice, then sat back down in his easy chair. How much does it cost?

I don’t know. The invitation said free open house tomorrow. I really want to go. We both need the exercise, and you always say that we need more friends. Maybe we’ll like it.

Cindy finished off her first slice of pizza, and got up from the couch and walked toward the kitchen.

Want another slice? she asked. Ethan shook his head no, still munching on the breadsticks that came with the pizza.

Cindy grabbed one of the breadsticks, and sat back down, looking at Ethan expectantly.

Ethan stared back at Cindy, who couldn’t help but smile.
