I grew up in Warsaw Indiana. I started writing when I was in third grade. The reason I started writing was to entertain my friends and family. I loved telling stories and eventually it turned into writing them down so I could tell new friends. I try to write something everyday, even if it is just a sentence or two. My grandparents, Rodger and Mary Phillips, owned a small campground around the lake. I spent a lot of my childhood there and would often go out into the woods for inspiration. My other favorite spot was the pier out on the lake. One of my biggest inspirations now is my 17 year old son. He was diagnosed with Autism when he was 3 years old.Watching him grow and learn and the way he interacts with people inspires me. His own desire to chase his own dreams has pushed me to do the same.

Megan walked along the crowded mall with her two friends Kailey and Tabitha. They were getting ready for their first college formal. Megan was excited about it. A boy that she had a crush on for a long time had asked her to the dance. She had known him since Kindergarten but her feelings for him did not grow until they were in middle school. Megan felt bad at the same time. Kailey had always liked Trevor too. Megan stopped suddenly as Kailey and Tabitha entered a shop. She followed them back to the prom gowns. They looked over the dresses for a long time. Kailey grabbed one that was black with white ruffles running down the back. Tabitha grabbed one that was red and laced up in the back. Megan looked carefully as the two headed for the fitting rooms. She found a long, flowing navy blue dress. She grabbed it in her size and hurried after her friends. They picked fitting rooms next to each other. Megan slipped out of her clothes and into her dress. She was working on zipping it up and heard Kailey and Tabitha talking about the dresses they had picked. Megan tried to hurry and zip up the dress but it was a little difficult by herself. She finally managed and stared at herself in the mirror. The navy blue color made her blue eyes seem deeper and more beautiful. Her long blonde hair looked even blonder. Her skin looked a bit paler in the dress but she thought it made her look beautiful. She smiled happily and opened the door. She peered out but did not see her friends. She stepped out fully and looked around. She called out their names but heard nothing. She walked towards the entrance of the fitting rooms and saw her two friends putting their dresses away. Megan sighed deeply and tried to wave them over. They did not see her and moved onto another dress rack. Megan frowned and started to turn away when something caught her eye. She saw a tall man with long, flowing silver hair and sparkling green eyes watching her closely. He smiled a bit and told her that she looked amazing in that dress. Megan felt her cheeks flush and thanked the man. She hurried back into the fitting room feeling her cheeks flush more and more. The man was not only handsome but rich. Everyone in town knew who Sebastian Bates was. He was a well off business man who seemed to have everything one could dream of. She was a bit taken that he had commented on her. Normally he did not speak to anyone that was not involved in his business. Megan pulled herself out of her thoughts and unzipped her dress. She slipped it off and replaced it on the hanger. She then dressed in her jeans, t-shirt and old tattered shoes. She grabbed the dress and headed out of the fitting room. She walked towards the dress rack but stopped. She looked down at the dress and then checked the price. It was slightly expensive but she had liked the way she looked in the dress. Megan smiled widely and decided to buy it. She was sure Trevor would like the dress as well. Megan walked up to the clerk and placed the dress on the counter. The clerk smiled and made small talk as she rang up the dress. Megan paid with cash and watched as the clerk placed
