Prologue

Once Tykerians roamed the vast universe. They were a powerful immortal race that had created where ever they went. They stayed out of sight of mortals as was their law. Then a few decided that they would find mortal worlds that had no space exploration capabilities and they would rule over them as gods. This started the great Tykerian war. For as powerful as they were, there was massive damage and the destruction of moons and planets. Finally, the war ended. The Tykerians repaired the damage and left never to be seen again. Some say they went to their home world. Unfortunately, one lone Tykerian had gone further than they had ever gone. When he went to go back he became lost and couldn’t even find any of his own kind. Being a Tykerian scientist , he decided to try something never done before and split himself into light and darkness. Giving them form the light was called Seriphine, the Mistress of Light and the dark was called Kisalk, the Master of darkness. Splitting in two had caused an imbalance within the universe. An evil entity formed from the imbalance on the planet the half Tykerians had started creating on. As this evil entity grew is affected Kisalk and his creations. Creating a world called Mystyc they hid from mortals. The Kisalk creates a son, Surun. The son carries the infection of this entity. As he grows the evil in him grow and tries to destroy all light on Mystyc. The evil entity has grown also and had now created seed that spread when exposed to a life form. It wished to spread across the universe and destroy anything made from the light. Seriphine with a prophesy given by an Oracle creates a daughter, Sacha. Her daughter is given Kisalk’s essence by magik at the time she is created. Causing her to be a whole Tykerian, with both light and dark. Sending Sacha with Gwendrine, her most trusted companion and Sorcerous of the highest order. They are sent through portals without set destinations to save the baby from Surun. The sorcerers had planned to freeze Surun until Sacha’s eighteenth birthing day, but Surun turns the spell against them. Only half the planet of Mystyc makes it to a sister planet Seriphine creates. Surun’s beast make it through the open portals and then the portals freeze over. With the planet under ice the spell to bring Sacha and Gwen home is destroyed. They are now living on Gashin until the evil beasts come after them. Fleeing the planet, Gwen and Sacha create a ship and save as many as possible. Will they be in time to save the universe?

Chapter 1

Gwen, they don’t want us here. I can’t take anymore. They treat me like a freak.  The only ones that even talk to me are Libi and Ric, and guess what? Now they are being shunned. I am sixteen cycles old. We need to leave. Sacha paced back and forth. Gwen could feel the power coming off her. Her anger at being shunned and fear for her friends was a living thing around her.

I know this has been hard for you. You have been raised as a mortal with all the emotions that they have. The glamour I put on you as a baby is starting to fade even.

Sacha whipped around at that. What glamour? Am I some hideous monster or purple or something? Why would you put glamour on me? Her power was so charged that things started appearing. A chair showed up right in front of her. Other items also pop up. Now I have things appearing. I promise Gwen, I am not doing this on purpose.

Calm down. Your powers are trying to release some of the pressure. That’s why I wanted to talk to you in the training room. You are so much more powerful than your mother. I don’t think she realized how much power you would have. No, you are not a monster, your skin glowed a pearl coloring. Your hair will be as spun gold with a rainbow of colors threaded through it and your eyes were also rainbow colored. The glamour was to make it so we fit in. I also put a shield around you so you wouldn’t be exposed to disease. You will be a beautiful woman. I noticed a glow to your skin lately that is all. As long as I am alive your glamour will stay active. She had been trying to calm Sacha since the incident on Nixim.

When can we go off on our own? She wasn’t going to give up. She had seen the way the others on the ship were treating Gwen. She knew Gwen wouldn’t say anything either. Things were getting worse. People resented they were on the ship. Many wanted to go back to Gashin. Now they shunned the only friends she had.

She knew she had a purpose to heal the damage the evil has caused. More and more planets had been attacked by beasts. Some say the pirates that have been attacking belonged to a peaceful planet with space travel that just started attacking anyone they found. She had trained enough to heal large sections of planets at a time. Ever since Nixim Gwen had pushed her more and more so she wouldn’t expend her own energy when she healed. She hadn’t told Gwen that this wasn’t the first-time things just popped up in her presence. She didn’t want to worry her. Gwen took on so much of the burdens on the ship, even when no one wanted her.

If things get much worse we will strike out on our own. We should have been at the Intergalactic Council by now. I plan on having a meeting with Carsel and find out what is taking so long. I will meet you later. Please just stay calm, you’re at a delicate point in your power growth. Gwen walked over and hugged her close. You know I love you so very much. Kissing her fore head, she went to the door.

Alright, I am going to go to my room to practice breathing. I will see you later. Going to her room she passed others in the hall. No one smiled or said hello. Most even looked hostel at her. Picking up her pace she made it to her room and shut the door. Looking at all the flowers and plants littering her room. She remembered when things had started showing up. She was going to talk to Gwen then, but wasn’t sure what to say. Since then with all the people on the ship turning against them she was scared this would be one more thing to criticize her for. She thought of things that made her happy like flowers, plants and furry little animals. Then a shantos showed up on her bed one morning after an awful dream. She started taking deep breaths trying to relax.

What do you mean we aren’t headed to the Council? That is where we need to be. Haven’t you seen what we have been dealing with? Shaking her head Gwen couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Who made the decision to change course?

I did. Wiscol walked into the room. We want to go back to Gashin. That is our home. Once we get off the ship you can go where you want.

That isn’t your choice to make. The threat is still there. Nothing has changed. Looking over at Carsel. Why didn’t you tell me?

Gwen, they have my family. I am doing as I am told. I really am sorry. Carsel looked at his feet. He had always liked Gwen. She had treated him good and taught him fly this ship.

Wiscol, I know the evil has been cleared from you. No others have had the seed. What would make you do this?

Now you see, you think it’s about this evil seed. This is about the fact that my whole life is on that planet. I have spent my life in service of others. I served in the Galactic Sector Guard for many terms. I found out you can make a lot of credits if you keep it from command. I finally had a nice home and enough credits to live how I want. Then you come along and take us in this ship. Well I want to go back and I have enough people riled up that it’s going to happen.

You are a law keeper. You are supposed to protect the people of Gashin, not take them to a planet that is going to kill them. That planet is still infected. Anyone who goes there will infected too. Why would you bring families to that kind of danger? She still couldn’t understand. Who do you think made this ship. I will turn it back around. I won’t let you endanger all these people for your own greed.

She didn’t notice the nod Wiscol made. Everything was suddenly black.

Take her to the room by the landing bay. We can figure out what to do later. Wiscol walked away with an evil smile. One down only one more to go.

Ric, have you seen Gwen? We were supposed to meet up and she never showed. Sacha walked up to the group he was talking with. Everyone looked up and glared at her.

No, I haven’t seen her today. If you wait, I can help you look. He started to stand. The others started whispering and getting up.

That’s alright, don’t get up. I didn’t mean to interrupt. She backed away and headed to the corridor. As she got to the door she heard one of the girls tell Ric. Let her go she is such a freak. My dad says it’s her fault we lost our home. If they had never came to Gashin we would still be there. They should just go away. Sacha moved faster. Blinking away tears she went to the training room.

Concentrating, she started visualizing Gwen. Looking for her essence. Gwen had taught her this to look for life on planets she had been healing. She scanned the entire ship. She couldn’t understand how, but she couldn’t feel her anywhere. So, she scanned outside the ship. Finally, she felt a hint of Gwen. It didn’t make since. It was outside this ship and in a small craft. Running out of the training room she went to Carsel. Gwen said she was meeting with him. He would have been the last to see her.

Where is Gwen? She found Carsel on the bridge.

Now Sacha, I don’t know what you’re talking about, but you know you’re not supposed to be on the bridge. Carsel looked around. There was sweat on his forehead. He was lying and there had to be a reason why.

Where is she? She had a meeting with you. She looked around then noticed on the viewer that she saw one of their small shuttles pass the ship. Who is on the shuttle? We don’t have a planet nearby. He was looking for a way to get away from her. What have you done? Power surged from her and knocked Carsel against the console.

Sacha turned to energy and passed through the ship wall. Chasing after the shuttle. When she reached the shuttle, and made it inside what she saw made her scream. Gwen was laying on the floor. Blood all around her. Sacha dropped to the floor beside her. Someone had beaten and stabbed her many times.

No, no, no! Gwen what happened, don’t leave me. I don’t know what to do on my own. Come on wake up. Lifting her head, she laid it in her lap. She scanned her slowly for damage. So much of her internal organs were bleeding. There were so many wounds on her skin and so much blood. She started trying to repair some of the damage, but there was just so many wounds bleeding. Her face was swollen were someone had beat on it. Why would anyone hurt her like this?

Coughing Gwen looked at her. Sacha, you must listen. Wiscol is going to take everyone to Gashin. He isn’t infected. He is just evil. You must stop him. Stopping she coughed again. I have always tried to be there for you. I know I’m not your mother, but you have always meant everything to me. I am sorry I won’t be able to take you back to Mystyc.

Don’t say that I will fix you. Don’t talk like that you are just as important to me. You’ve always been there for me. Please don’t leave me know. She was still trying. Tears were running down her face.

You can’t fix this dear one. I am too far gone. Remember you are going to do remarkable things. There are good people out there, take care of them. Don’t let anger take you over. It will destroy you. Her breathing was coming shorter. I love you my little Sacha. Don’t forget me and I will always be with you. Taking one more short breath, she was gone.

No! I told you we should leave them. What do I do now? I love you Gwen. Crying she bent over Gwen and held her tight. She didn’t know how long she stayed there. She noticed the color of her hair was different. The unusual colors laid against Gwen’s face. Her arm was glowing with a pearl color just like Gwen said. Sacha stood up and turned to energy. The shuttle Gwen was on she turned to a necklace to wear. Gwen’s ashes inside to keep always. Then she turned to where the ship had been heading.

Chapter 2

Libi, I need to talk to you. Sacha work her friend up. She didn’t know where else to go or who else to talk to.

Where have you been? It’s all over the ship that you went up to the bridge and killed Carsel for no reason. Libi was whispering and grabbing Sacha’s hand to drag her into the cleansing room. I don’t believe that you did that, but a lot of the adults do. They have been looking for you all this time.

Libi, they killed Gwen. I confronted Carsel when I couldn’t find Gwen. The I saw a shuttle pass the viewer up front. I questioned him, but sensed Gwen on the shuttle. My power flared and he flew back. I didn’t wait to see if he was alright. Gwen had been stabbed so many times that she bled to death. I couldn’t even save her. She lost to much blood by the time I found her. She told me Wiscol is taking the ship to Gashin. If it goes there you will all die. It’s still infected." She started crying while
