    Darkness Ends – The Beginning

    ––––––––

    Prelude

Who knew that the mythical race of Tykerians actually existed? Many told stories of the mighty war. Some said they were wonders, while others said they were destroyers.  Tykeria was a beautiful planet filled with gleaming buildings and wondrous sights. The people had evolved to become so powerful they no longer needed ships for space travel. They would simply become pure energy and leave into space. They had found that the only way to die was to will your own death and your power would go to join with the universe. Their race could do wonderful things and often did, but with all races there were some that leaned toward their darker sides. Destroying as much as they created. Sometimes taking out whole races just to see if they could. They policed themselves as there was no being powerful enough to stop them. The elders of their race found if two or more focused their full power on the one found guilty they could break apart the very atoms of their essence.

Very few had to be judged. Most of the Tykerians were happy to go around the universe creating beings and new planets. The would add a moon or new stars. There were so many places in all the galaxies and systems to visit and work on there was no need to destroy. They made sure none of the inhabitants of the world they visited saw them. They stayed to themselves.

As with any race with unlimited power some of them would go to distant planets without technology and act as gods.  These mortals would worship them as they wanted.

Once the others found out about this group they went to stop them. This caused a war between a race of very powerful people. There was destruction throughout most of the universe. Some that were far out in space came back to find most of their race destroyed along with many planets.

The ones that were left decided that they would return to their planet. They would not interact with any more mortals. After repairing the damage.  Most went back to Tykeria.

    Chapter 1

Dearest Sophia, it is my burden to tell you the story of your origins. If you are reading this journal, I have gone from your life. You have been the light in my life and I have been blessed by the Goddess to be allowed to raise you. You must understand the past to correct the terrible wrong that was done.

First, let me explain how it all began:

None of the Tykerians realize that one of their most powerful scientist was missing. Many had perished during the great war. He had gone in search of new parts of the galaxies and didn’t realize he had gone far from the planet Tykeria. Searching the closest inhabited planets, he decided to experiment on his own essence. The balance of the universe shifted with the power it took to split into two separate beings. The wave of energy pulled a darkness that hid and waited.

Once the separate entities could take form, they took the shape of the Mistress of Light as she would have a more delicate part to the balance. The other part formed the Master of darkness as there must be darkness to go with the light. Try as they might, they could not go back to being one. Therefore, they settled on a planet close to them. The Mistress chose the name Seriphine, she created her own people and creatures of pure light. The Master took the name Kisalk, the people and creatures he created were not evil, but rather lived on the darker regions of life. He saw no need for softness or light.

The planet they landed on had mortals throughout it. Most of the mortals went on with their lives working with each other. Some would use violence against their own. They would steal and murder over greed most of the time. Kisalk took and interest in these mortals as the energy they gave off was darker than he had felt before.  He became addicted to the feel of the evil that started gathering. His creatures also started changing and drawing on the energy.

Go out and find the mortals with dark hearts. Ease them into even more evil acts and to bring others with them. Kisalk could feel the power in him surging with every act.

Yes, Master it shall be so. We will do as you wish. His creatures had twisted the very meaning of darkness.

Kisalk you must stop, this is not what was meant to be. We are to create not destroy. Seriphine tried reasoning with him every day.

Go meddle with your own kind. Create all you want. Leave me be. I have found a new source of power and my creations are living well off their feeding. He laughed at the pain he saw on her face.

Back at her castle Seriphine sent help to the mortals that were being abused and murdered by the power struggle. Go and help where ever you can. Try to stop innocents from paying for the plan Kisalk has started. I am planning to move us somewhere safe.

Mistress we will hurry and save as many as we can.

Many of the mortals tired of being playthings of the evil started to fight back. Evil had spread across the world and the Mistress did all she could to offset the balance with the light. With the creatures in the middle and dying as the mortals couldn’t distinguish the difference. She gathered up her beloved creatures and left the planet in search of a world where they could grow and multiply in peace and harmony.

Unfortunately, for Kisalk since they were two pieces of a whole, both had to be together on a planet to keep the balance in check. This was a great thing for the mortals. Against his will Kisalk was yanked from his throne with all his minions. Screaming in rage his dark light followed Seriphine.

After traveling for years Seriphine saw they were far enough away that she created a world. The planet was lush with green growth. There were no humanoid inhabitants only animals and lower life forms. She touched down in a lovely forest, with huge trees and bodies of water. Calling their new home Mystyc, she opened her arms with eyes closed and let all her people and creatures loose to explore their new home. She would hide this world from all mortals. She could still send her creations off world, but mortals would not know of her world.

Meeting with her Sorcerers and Sorceresses she made a council to handle the day to day activities.

Gwendrine, Seriphine’s most trusted friend and confidant. Came over to her. My Lady should we see about your brother. You know he will be angry you took his prize.

He knew it was costing lives but had no care. I had to pull him away before he destroyed the mortals. They will forget us as nothing but stories and fables. As it should be. Closing her eyes, He has arrived and yes he is angry. We will prepare for retribution. Kisalk has grown to strong on the evil of men. Now it must be purged and reset to the normal darkness that makes us equal.

Looking around, Gwen call the council. We have much to do. Our people need homes and places to start lives. Food and work will be a beginning for us all. Smiling she remarked, I am going to create some Guardians to keep us protected.

    It shall be done Mistress.

On the other side of the planet Kisalk also descended. He was angry at having no choice in the world. He turned the forest on his side to a volcanic and dry area. The surface growing harsh with his anger. Letting his minions loose they were unsure of what to do. No mortals to torture, nothing to destroy. They looked to their master to see what he wished of them.

A young harpy named Vinmu with lust for the throne went to Kisalk. Vinmu spoke to Kisalk Master the light creature and their Mistress are the cause of all our troubles. Can we not destroy them once and for all?.

And how would we do this do you think? Should I send you alone to destroy them? Kisalk sneered. Or maybe the handful of starving minions I have. No, I need and army. We have become weak living off the mortals. Now we must regroup and find leaders among all of you.

Many of the Trolls and dark giants volunteered to build and train the others. Barracks were started. Vinmu along with the other harpies flew off to find food and then train with the others.

Seriphine will know soon enough what I am doing. Our kind can feel each other’s presence. If I can take control of her, going back will be easy. Kisalk thought hard on this, Only she has the power to keep me here. Once the balance shifts I can take us to any planet anywhere and the mortals shall be under my control. Under the influence of so much evil he truly believed he could over take Seriphine.

The battles started small with outer villages being destroyed. Guardians would save most of the inhabitants, but not all. The deaths were hard on everyone.

Guardians were being trained harder and harder. Yondic, the lead Guardian appealed to the Mistress after a huge battle.

This has to stop! he cried. We have enlisted the dracons and the winged ones’ males, but they keep coming.

"Commander bring all the outer villages closer to the castle. Get
