    About the Author

To my sons who are there for me.

    Upper Realm Centuries ago:

Lucian, what are you doing? Kohan barks at his heir.

You think I don’t know father? Anger burned inside him. The mantle of leadership was mine. Mine! You gave it to Redal. He is not first born. Power shot from his hand at Kohan.

Kohan blocked the burst. Lucian, stop this! What would you have me do? You are destroying the other races from the Realms the Goddess created. We were charged with protecting, not causing the mayhem you have caused.

The other realms are nothing! We are more superior to the others and should rule them. The lower beings should serve us. Lucian searched for an opening to attack.

That is not the will of the Goddess. Our laws are absolute. You know this. Why have you turned against the teachings? Kohan beseeched Lucian. Come with me. All will be forgiven. You can still help with ruling. Redal will need your help and council.

No father! I will lead the Clonmores. My followers will help me to take what is rightfully mine. Narrowing his eyes, Lucian attacked his father. You and Redal will pay for taking what is mine.

Kohan ran unsteadily through the portal to Upper Realm. Redal! We must prepare for war!

    Father! You’re injured.

There is no time, your brother is coming with his followers and is going to try taking the mantle from you. If he does, nothing will be safe. Kohan grunted as he stood. Guards! Gather the women and children and take them to safety. Just them an explosion rocked the Realm. Horror came over everyone in the great halls face. Goddess save us.

Fire shot from homes and building crumbled. Lucian had told those who followed him to destroy everything. Screams filled the air, as bodies lay broken on the streets. Laughter came from men killing those who ran for their lives.

Kohan called his power to him and sent it out. Killing those with dark hearts. Redal, start gathering those you can. Lead our guards and men. This must be stopped. More explosions and screams.

Father! I know you’re in the Great Hall. Come out and show our people you deserve to lead. Lucian sneered as he called out. You too brother. That bitch you married can’t protect you from me. I should have the power she carries. You are weak! Power shot at a home over from him.

Lucian, stop! Redal yelled. You’re killing our people. Have you lost all reason?

I will use the lesser being and rebuild. My followers will repopulate the Upper Realm. We will rule over all others.

The war waged for centuries. Both sides had heavy losses. Unfortunately, it didn’t stay contained to the Upper Realm. Using portals to gather weapons and stealing magic, Lucian sent his men to all other realms. The cries and deaths called to the Goddess. She empowered the dragons and Fae of the realm of magic to help fight. Great battles raged to beat them back through portals.

Until finally the Upper Realm itself, so damaged fell. Redal and his Goddess, along with a handful of others escaped. The rest fell, with Lucian. Redal knew Lucian would return, but now he was drained, and their once beautiful Realm was known as the Lower Realm after falling below all others.

When the war started the Goddess gathered up the deserving soul from her fallen Clonmores and placed them in a special realm. They were kept safe until the time came they could come back.

    ––––––––

    Chapter 1

    Present Day:

The night was cold and wet at the fish camp. So many sleeping. He makes a low whistle. From all sides, dark figures emerge. House doors where broken in and the screaming starts. He really enjoyed the screaming. Changing he runs in and grabs a small boy running from the house.

Not my baby please! He’s only two. Let him go, please. She sinks to her knees as she hears the bones in the boy’s neck crush. Blood spurt in his mouth, rich as it always was with a child.

Two other wolves were biting a man that was held down. Soon he would have an army. He could keep some of the women to bear young. Some would be born wyer the others could be turned or killed. His pack was stronger and larger than any other, anywhere. No other predator had as many. Even the lions and tigers combined couldn’t bring him down.

He heard gun fire to the rear. Running toward the sound he was a girl child with a rifle in her hands. This would be fun. Then he saw one of his wolves laying dead. Ok, sweetheart now you just caused the death of everyone in that house. Telepathically telling his wolves they started slowly around the house. One jumped her from behind tearing her apart. Then the rest took the house. All you heard was screaming, then silence. He hated humans, they felt all you needed was a gun to stop anything. Well, his pack could out maneuver a gun by numbers alone.

Sweeping the fish camp for stragglers. He saw one of his wolves raping a woman instead of following the plan. Sliding over he grabbed the wolf by the neck and bit down breaking his neck. Then killing the woman. He wouldn’t have whelps of wolves that were that weak. Rounding up the rest of the wolves he had them carry the men they had bitten to the vans and the women to the rangers. Looking around he sensed nothing alive. Everyone got into the vehicles and left.

On the side of the road was a torn teddy bear with blood on it.

Will you take the case, please? The police say they can’t find him. They wouldn’t have even known for sure, but two of his wolves were found dead. No one will go against him. The young woman was crying hysterically. Three other families with pictures of the attack were also in her office.

Why did you come to me? There is a council of paranormal that handles things like this. Have you contacted them yet? I wanted to see the reaction to that.

Two of the men scoffed. As soon as we said Johanis they looked everywhere, but us. I thought the one would piss himself. No, they’re not going to help. We got your name from a PD officer named Trent. He said if anyone might go after him it would be you.

Wow, thanks Trent. I hope I can give him something in return. Like a broken knee. I am truly sorry for your loss. I will agree He has been hard to capture. These pictures aren’t unusual for one of his raids. I have open cases on my desk from the last two. Believe me you’re not the only ones wanting him stopped. I will take your case.

Thank you, we have figured out what we could pay. I started shaking my head. We can get more if it’s not enough.

The men looked disgusted and Shelly something or other was ready to cry again. Listen I don’t want your money. He needs to be stopped and killing kids is always wrong. We will let you know as soon as we get information. With that I showed them out.

Johanis was a bastard in every sense of the word. Grew up in a small pack. Mother drank herself to death. He became the pack whipping boy. Swore he would someday be in charge of the largest pack in the world. When he left the pack, he was from he had killed them all. Boo hoo and all that. He could have done anything, but now has a taste for blood and violence.

I needed information, time to go to work.

Goddess, she hated the dark. So many things could and would go wrong. So, she had to ask herself.  Why was she here again? Oh, right he was coming out of the club now. That outfit should have been banned before he left his house. Opening the door to her truck she sauntered over.

So, Jorgey, long time no see. He hated it when she called him that.

How many times must I tell you my name is Jorge and Debra; must you dress like you just went to a thrift shop? Looking her up and down he sneered at her worn jeans and T-shirt. I thought witches loved to dress in designer gowns. What happened to you?

You know I had a bag of Fey blood for you if you had information for me, but I think I might find someone else. Turning on her heels she headed towards her truck.

Who else knows how to get information like I do? You know I’m the best. Now let’s talk about Fey blood. His eyes had already started getting a red tinge to them.

Well you know who Johanis is right? That name got a response.

You know he owns most cities. He kills Vamps just for fun. A shiver went over him. You must have a death wish to go after him.

Now, you see he just killed a client’s father. I took the job because I have three others going with his name on it at the same time. Looking at her nails. So, do you know where he might be holed up? Since you know so much info, this should be a snap.

Ha, you think I don’t know what you’re doing. You get me four bags of Fey blood and I will get a location.

I will give you three and a bag of witch blood, but Jorgey if it doesn’t pan out I will come looking for you and you know I will find you.

Done, meet me here in four days. I will have it by then and for goddess sake wear something decent. I have a reputation. He walked off towards his Corvette.

She would have a location this time. Johanis took out a small town two days ago. The strongest were turned the rest either held as hostages or used for food. The humans were now looking at all Wolves. Johanis would get packs killed that haven’t done anything. She had quite a few friends that were wyer.

Heading back to her truck she noticed people looking and pointing. What you never had to call for roadside assistance? Not that her truck was anything to sneeze at. Cherry red Dodge ram, fully loaded. It gave her Aunt fits, then again, she gave her Aunt fits.

Heading home she thought back to a time when she cared what Aunt Luci thought. She was only seven when her mother died. They told her it was from complications having her. Yeah that gave her warm fuzzies. No one knew who her father was. Some said her mother fell in love and left the coven to have her, others said she was raped and in shame she left to keep her. Either way her aunt made sure she knew it was her fault. Her mother would have been head of the main coven in New York, but now her aunt was. Luci wouldn’t even acknowledge her as family. She was better at magic than her aunt, another reason her aunt hated her. Told her to never use her last name in public. Like that was going to happen.

Her cell phone rang. Tell me something good Ben. Ben Calloway had gone in with her to start their hunter business.

You were right the Vamp that was turning without a license was in the abandoned building on fourth.

I told you he was. Bet he didn’t like you showing up. So, what did you do with him? Is he worm bait or did you get the manacles on him? She didn’t care which one. Derri had been warned. He couldn’t just grab someone and turn them without permission. Especially the mayor’s son. That didn’t go over well.

The manacles went on. I did a stun spell and he was so good for me. He started laughing. The surprise on his face was priceless. Wait till the mayor gets done with him. I would have rather been staked.

Me and you both. Jorge said he would have a location in four days. I hope it pans out. Johanis needs putting down hard. He’s been rogue too long.

You know if he finds out you’re after him he’s gonna kill you, right? He’s a mean son of a bitch.

Did you see what he did to the children in that fish town. They didn’t have a chance. They were torn apart. No, I’m not backing down. She could still see the pictures of the bodies.

OK, I just thought I would put it out there. I agree with taking him down. Ben always went after child killers.

I’m going to head home. Talk to you tomorrow. Hanging up she turned into her driveway. Her mother had never trusted her sister, so she left everything to her. A friend of her mothers, the attorney kept everything in trust till she hit eighteen. When he had opened the safe deposit box, she had to laugh. Her aunt had been tearing the mansion apart looking for Hendington jewels and here, her mother had put them in a bank.

Ford, I’m home. When she had moved out of her aunt’s house she took Ford with her. He had been her best friend while there. He was also in his eighties and almost deaf now.

    Ford!

Why must you yell miss. I can hear you. Did you just come in? He ambled over. Your truck is so quiet.

Debra had to laugh, the Dodge was many things, but it wasn’t quiet. She went to the kitchen and fixed her and Ford some dinner. She told him she loved to cook to keep him from burning everything. Ben stayed with them more times than not, so she made him a plate.

Going in her office she pulled up any leads on other cases she had. She had started hunting paras that went off the leash when one of the homeless shelters she volunteered at had been hit by Vamps. No one would take the case because the ones involved were rogue. Hard to track and hard to catch. Ben had been at the station when she was trying to get help. He was a wizard top class. I have no idea why he was there, but when he heard what was going on he offered to help. Next thing we know we have a hunter’s license and were partners. I worked great.

Debra, are you here. Ben came running in. Turn on the tube.

Getting up I turn on the news. Again, there has been a mass killing on the Eastern side. Police are on the scene, but it looks like the nest of Vampires were killed by someone with knowledge of their whereabouts. When we get more details, we will be broadcasting them. Shutting off the TV, I sat down hard. That was Derri’s nest.  If the mayor’s son had been there he would be dust too. How many had died and why. He was in the undercells. There was no way he was out.

What do you think Ben? Someone wanting revenge.

If so why wait until he’s in undercell. Why not dust him too?  He was pacing in front of the TV. What if it’s a message? You know he felt his children die.

But again, why wait? Who else was in there that would make it a hit? She thought of all the uptown nests. Their Master would have had guards. Derri must not had any. Or did he. We need to go there. There should have been guards. Let’s see if any survived.

Running to my truck Ben jumped in. The East side took maybe twenty minutes normally, we got there in fifteen. I know most of the PD in this area, so I walked up to see if there was anything yet.

Well, if it isn’t Hendington. If your gonna show up at scenes like these why not get a badge? Laughing with his buddies.

Trent, you always an asshole or just for me? His buddies laugh harder.

Ok, Deb what are you here for? You already brought in Derri. Seems someone just cleaned out a nest caused by a rogue. Trent hated paras.

Well, that’s your call, but why would they wait till Derri was caught? Why not dust him too? I hated being that blasé about it, but maybe Trent would talk.

Not sure why, but the security guards were found knocked out in the next building. We’re still waiting for the paramedics to all clear them.

Bingo, I knew there had to be someone watching. Nodding at Ben, he nodded back and eased over to the paramedics. He had a way of getting people to talk then forget they ever talk to him. He was doing his mojo, while I looked around. There wasn’t much to see. There were piles of ash here and there along with clothes. Then I saw something familiar. A gaudy outfit just like, at the club. Jorge had been here. Backing out I walked to the truck.

They don’t remember much. The guys that hit them were really big. One said he heard someone say he’s in there. Nothing after that. Ben looked over.

Jorge was in there. He was the one getting the information on Johanis for me. I promised him three bags of Fey and one bag of witch blood.

Where were you going to get the witch blood. I have never seen one give blood away. Ben looked at me closely.

I was gonna bag my own. I have never needed to give any before, but this was going to get me a location. What does it matter? This must have been where his informant was.

Never ever give your blood to anyone. Do you understand? You don’t know how dangerous that would be. Ben headed toward the truck.

I’m going to be giving my doctor some Monday. I have a rash that won’t leave. Drives me crazy off and on. Doctor thinks it might be allergy. So, figured I would bag some after. She had no idea why Ben was freaking out. It was just blood.

Let’s go to your house and we will talk more there. Ben watched out the window as I drove home.

    ––––––––

    Chapter 2

    ––––––––

Ok Ben, what is your problem? We’ve been after Johanis for how many years, and you’re worried about a little blood. I went to my recliner and sat back.

What do you know of your parents? Looking at me he stood by the mantle.

My mother would have been head of the witch coven over New York. Got pregnant with me. Lost her position and died when I was seven. Have no idea who my father was. Some say he raped my mom and was never caught. Trying to shrug it off I just gave the highlights.

First, your mother was never raped. I will give my best spell that your aunt spread that rumor. The thought that he would ever. Ben started stomping and pacing. It was no accident we met in the police station. I had been watching you for years before that."

    Wow Ben, stalker much.

Not now Debra. Your father hired me to watch out for you when your mother died. He didn’t have to, we had been friends for centuries.

Wait, stop you’re not that old. I’m not sure why you’re saying all this, but enough. I’m going to bed. Debra started to turn.

Ben stood there, then poof he was different. Bluish tint to his skin. Midnight black hair. He had my attention now.

My name is Benji Collay. I am much older than you think. I am one of the few Djinn left in your realm. Your father’s name is Elledon. He is not in this realm right this moment. Ben, no Benji bowed to me. Ha, I can’t normally keep his feet of the furniture.

Are you trying to tell me my father is a Djinn? Because I may have a rash, but I am not any shade of blue. By the way, that color looks fantastic on you. That’s me full of sarcasm.

You would be that lucky. No, your father is not a Djinn. As you know paranormal beings started going to realm once Johanis started his killing sprees. The dragon’s and Fae went first. They already had homes there, so it was an easy transition. We Djinn go where we like. Elledon is the only Golden dragon. In all the centuries I have known him he has never looked for a mate. Finding your mother must have been a wondrous thing. Being he is still alive they must not have completed the mating ceremony, as they normal pass together. The night you were born I had followed Elledon. When I saw you and your mother it was heart breaking. He took you from your mother and was so very happy.

Why wouldn’t they be together if they were in love and mom was having me. I thought dragons were fanatical about children safety. Rubbing my face, I was trying to get a handle on what was going on.

You would be correct. Except, Elledon had a problem with a dragon that wanted to take over leadership. As soon as he had him taken care of he was going to move your mother to his home. The night you were born changed that. A witch and a dragon had never had a child before, because the magic they use is so different it wouldn’t mix well. Neither knew this. After you came your mother became tired easily and pale. Elledon asked me to look her over. The magic in you mixed because it filtered through your mother. I never thought she would make it seven years. She was stubborn and loved you very much. She knew her sister wouldn’t make a good guardian but had no other family. She died when Elledon was in realm. He leads all the dragons and was settling the newest ones.

If I am half dragon, why haven’t I turned? I think I would have noticed a tail. Really this was so very crazy on my looney scale. I get up a witch with a Rouge Wyer on the loose and now I’m a.... What would a half witch, half dragon be? I would have to think about that. My hands were shaky, and I started breathing heavy.

Most half breed dragons don’t change until they are fifty years or more. Have you not noticed you still look twenty-one even though you are thirty-five? I scanned your rash after you told me about it. Don’t worry about the doctor, it’s not a rash. You are in transition. I will have to go get your father. He didn’t like how upset she was looking and wasn’t sure what to do. Looking around for a way to leave and watch her he must have thought of something. He smiled and clapped his hands.

Yes uncle, you need something of me? The best-looking man I had ever seen just popped into my house.

Umm, Ben can you introduce us? Smiling at the newcomer she got up.

Ben frowned at me. Then looked at his nephew. Clapping again he disappeared.

Hey, where did he go? Bring him back. That was just wrong. Bring someone like him then pop he’s gone.

No, do not look at my nephew like that. I like him, and my sister would kill me if something happened to him. Your father would kill him before he could move. Let me think. You will have to behave and stay safe for a couple of days. Can you do that? Giving me a disgusted look he popped out of me house.

Funny thing, rubbing my face. I could have sworn Ben had been there. Well back to work.

With my informant gone I needed another lead. Then I felt bad about Jorge. I sent him out looking for a location. He said Johanis liked to kill Vamps for fun. One more nail in his coffin.

Most wolves liked the biker bars. I felt like I would look at that angle for the next few nights. I worked the local soup kitchen on Monday so tomorrow would be booked until five. I figured I would just go and listen I wasn’t gonna cause trouble.

Hey Sue, Becky, how was your weekend? I always got to the kitchen while the cooks where setting up. I brought donuts, they complain, then they eat. It was every week. I had decided the whole thing with Ben was a bad dream or weird dream whatever.

Hey Debbi, are those donuts? You know my butt is already so huge it takes two chairs. She starts laughing as she grabs one and groans while taking a bite. Oh well, what’s one more size.

Sure Sue, Becky you better get over here if you want a jelly filled Sue is looking hard at them. Something was wrong. She normally yells at Sue to back off. Becky?

Her boyfriend came in last night. Left a parting gift this morning.

When Becky turned around her face was swollen and bruised. I bet that isn’t all that was bruised from the way she kept from hitting her ribs on the stove. Tell me you called the police at least. She shook her head. She would never say anything about her boyfriend, but he always left his mark on her.

I used my magic and eased some of the pain and swelling. Fixed her cracked ribs.

Thanks Debbi. I didn’t know he was coming in last night. He hadn’t been back in months, so I figured he moved on.

Why do you let him in? You know he’s a bastard. His kind should be behind bars. It angered me so much that he got away with it every time.

You don’t know. He’s not like you and me. Frank is different, his eyes turn gold and stuff. Tells me I should be thankful a Beta is even interested in me. Told me last night his Alpha was going to rule the world. I think he’s crazy. She started shaking.

Hun, you come to my house tonight. Let him tell me that I have an iron skillet with his name on it. Sue went on and on.

Becky is he coming to your house tonight? Debbi was standing by then.

He was there when I left. I snuck out. He had been drinking something looked gross. Knocked him out when he was about half way through. I don’t want to go home. Her eyes were round with fear.

Didn’t I tell you, you’re going home with me. Sue was off again.

Girls, I gotta run an errand I will be back before we serve. They didn’t even stop. Once Sue starts she’s on a roll.

Getting to Becky’s was easy she was within walking distance of the kitchen. Once there I let my senses flow to tell if he was still there. Ahhh, there you are. The spell she wove was intricate. She froze Frank in place and then sent him to undercells. Putting silver protection all around the cell. Then she made a call to Trent. You have Johanis’ Beta in undercell with silver protection all around the cell. He has no weapons on him.

Have you lost your damn mind. Johanis is going to rain hell down on us. Trent was evidently not happy about me catching one of the killers. Get him out of there. These guys have families.

Where would you suggest I send him to? I was getting angry now. This maniac killed families.

Look I will make a call, send him to the main penitentiary. They have more security and for God sakes hurry. He hung up.

OK now to send him to the main penitentiary. It also had an undercell.  Just much more secure. Once I moved him there I reinforced the cell with silver and took the lock off the door. No picking locks for him. Then wiped the police station undercell from having his scent taken from the station at all as well as anywhere near or on Becky’s apartment. Using that much magic made me tired, so I walked back to the kitchen and had a donut.

The whole day was busy as it always was. We fed everyone until five so around four thirty everyone rushed in. Becky was feeling better. Sue was taking her home with her. That would keep Becky out of view. Sue lived ten miles the opposite way. I went home and changed into a faded pair of jeans and a leather vest, adding boots and I was ready to go.

The first bar I went to was a total flop. After being hit on too many times to count and told how all those boys could rock my world. I left.  The next two were more of the same. I have no idea why any woman would go to these places. I was going to wash my boots when I get home. Ugg.

The last place was called Big Bills, wow how original. I went in and sat at the bar. This place was nastier than the last ones. Ewww. What was that...I didn’t even want to know. Moving to another seat more towards the corner I ordered a bottled beer. No way was I hoping they actually wash their glasses.

Boss is having a fit. No sign of Frank anywhere. The corner booth down from me had two filthy men sitting there. I could smell urine and dirt from here. I just nursed my beer and listened.

Didn’t he have some bitch in the city he visited?

We looked the city over and had some change and scent the area. Nothing. You know the boss wants to move to that next fish camp. Those have been going easier than towns. The women we got in this last one kept me happy for days.

Yeah once they stop that damn crying. I had to beat one to get her to understand her kid was dead. Man, humans are slow. Boss says he has three breeding. He must screw all night. Both were laughing.

OK, don’t kill the evil wolves. I had to keep telling myself this over and over. I just quit listening to their garbage. That is till the smell got closer.

Hey baby, wanna come outside with me. I can show you a real good time. Leering he looked me up and down.

No thanks, I’m waiting on my date. He’s due here soon. I would rather date a gorilla in the jungle is what I wanted to say.

No real man would leave a piece like you sitting. Come on, I got something for you. Rubbing on my leg was the last straw.

Did you not hear me dumb ass. I’m here waiting. Now go away. Kicking my leg out I hit his knee.

That wasn’t very nice, bitch. My friend and I think you should come with us now. That’s when I felt the knife. Beginners mistake not watching. Thinking fast I had to figure what would be the best plan.

Looking at both of them. I quietly whispered, You never saw me and you’re going back to your hideout. Klarquenton. With that spell they turned and headed towards the door. Wyer were harder to put spells on so I used a stronger one on these two.

I slowly got up, threw some bills on the counter and sauntered out the door. They were getting into a beat-up pickup. I decided I would follow them without the lights out to see where they went. This might be it. If I could find where their pack was. They could be stopped. I tried calling Ben, it went to voicemail. Great, any other time he’s on the phone in seconds. Well the only thing I could do is put a repelling spell on myself in case I am caught. That wasn’t going to happen.

I stayed pretty far back. They headed south and drove for almost forty minutes. They must had been stopping after searching for Frank. Good luck finding him. They turned right just before the New York state line.  Then right into a state park. Bingo, you’re mine now. I kept going not turning in. After twenty minutes, I noticed I had a tail. Really, my luck is so not good today. Hitting the accelerator, I took off toward the city. They stayed close and somehow were gaining. Using magic, I added speed and made it to the outskirts of the city. All I needed to do was make it to the precinct and I would be alright. Then I felt something hit my truck in the rear. I looked in the mirror and saw a wolf in the bed of my truck.

Alright, asshole get off my truck. I was running spells through my head when the rear window shattered. The repel spell would keep it from biting me, but this was going to hurt. His nails raked across my arm showing me he meant business. Pushing my truck, I was almost there. He kept trying to get in and was scratching me up as he did. I was bleeding pretty bad at this point. As I pulled up to the station the wolf started backing out. I threw a cleansing spell to clean all blood from his fur, so he couldn’t track me.

Help! Help me! Doors of the building opened, and cops came running out. Some pulled their pistols when they saw the wolf running. Shot firing I heard a yelp and a thump. Thing were going gray, but I stayed awake.

Lady, hang on I’m going to call for an ambulance. He turned.

No, it’s alright. It looks worse than it is. Tell Trent, Debra said Johanis is in the National Park to the right just before the state line. Backing up I drove home in a daze.

Pulling in, I slowly got out. I knew I was hurt. I had bled all over my seat. I had to get cleaned up and see how bad. This is one of the times I was glad Ford was deaf. I made it to the bathroom and turned on the hot water. My clothes were a total loss. I threw those in the garbage. Setting the water, I stepped in. I wanted to cry out when the water hit the openings. There was more damage than I thought. After the water stopped running red at me feet. I wash my hair and myself as best I could. I was a mess. He had torn, up my right arm and side. At the end he must have gotten in enough to get across my stomach and thighs. The bleeding had stopped, but the pain burnt through me. I made it to the bed, fell on it naked and fell asleep.

Something was wrong. I heard yelling in the house, but I was alone when I came home. Someone had covered me up and most of my lacerations were heals to a pink line. Bellowing from somewhere below got my attention. Yep, someone was yelling. Ugg.  Would whoever is yelling shut up! Silence was my answer.

The door opened to my bedroom and Ben walked in. Next time I ask you to stay out of trouble for a couple of days, I will be more specific. How the hell did you get torn up so bad? Your truck is half destroyed and what isn’t destroyed is covered with your blood. He looked like he was about to lose it, so I just looked pitiful. Don’t even try that with me. Damn it Debra, you could have been killed. As it is you’ve been out for two weeks with fever and chills.

Now it was my turn to look surprised. Well now I knew how I was almost healed. I’m sorry Ben. I tried to call you. I don’t remember you telling me you ‘d be gone. Johanis’s Beta is in undercell at the main penitentiary. I found Johanis’s main hiding place when I was doing a stakeout. Left a message for Trent at the precinct made it home and passed out. I don’t remember anything after that.

"You mean that’s ALL you did. You are so lucky he didn’t catch you. Do you know what he does to the women he catches? If you’re lucky he only rapes you, the ones not as lucky
