About this ebook

Politics has taken over all thought since Trump began his run for the White House. He has been in place now for almost 6 months and little has abated. You either love him or hate him and have something to say about him regardless. I have been writing in depth verse by verse devotionals about Proverbs for the past 4 years (off and on). Since all thought is on him, his ideas, his thoughts, and his actions I thought it would be unique to look at how he and his policies might look at the issues today rather than Solomon so long ago. Abortion, immigration, free will, Muslim ban, etc. are a lot different now than then. Islam had not even been thought of at that time. Come on and ride with me; we might disagree about some points and we might question one another, but is that not why writing and ideas were developed--to make us better Christians or people.

    Dedication

Completed and published between 1993 and 2002, the Message Bible by Eugene Peterson, has taken the Christian world by storm. He is lauded for his work in bringing the Word to believers in an understandable, easy to apply work. However, many others challenge his work as a strategy of the New Age movement to simply mystify Jesus Christ. Peterson used his life’s work to better explain Jesus to a lost, seeking world.

In 2009, our church pastor began a ministry at Converting Hearts Ministry in Creedmoor, NC. This addiction counseling and person-repairing work brings many once addicted people into a relationship with their Lord Jesus Christ and I love and support Shawn Saunders for his insight and Christian worship program.

During this weekly praise and Bible study ministry of my church and pastor Ernest Ferrell, I decided to help the men understand the value of reading one proverb per day and trying to live that ever after. I did a study of a verse that corresponded to each day. On the First day of each month, I did a verse in order from Proverb One and continued throughout the month on corresponding Proverbs. Before I could start, I wanted to do an outline of what was important in each of the Proverbs so I started with a study of each Proverbs for December of 2009.

Since I published the book I have received thanks and encouragement from many of my readers to complete this study. I am ready to put the remaining verses of Proverbs into monthly devotions until complete at last. Enjoy and review your thoughts about this devotional for me.

A few monthly segments ago, I thought about how much closer a devotion brings each of us to our Lord and Savior. I thought about how it encouraged us, made us think, and helped us make it through each day. It was at that time that the thought hit me that devotions (just like accepting Jesus) does so much more. We have a responsibility, regardless of our station in life, of speaking to and making a difference in our individual domain. We need to look at our Orders from the Scripture, determine what we can do to help, and we need to act. Use the questions at the close of each devotion to document what you can do! God Bless
