About this ebook

Proverbs is the Wisdom of God expressed through a worldly king, so it has much deeper meanings for all peoples. Solomon is best known as the wisest king and people came from near and far to see for themselves how wise he was. Funny,, I should say "was" because the words that Solomon wrote and collected live still today. These 900 plus sayings still resonate with power, precision, and proclamation! In 2013 I wrote a book of the lessons and findings from my ministry to an men's addiction home. I saw the same pressures of Solomon's day still existed and together we found that the same answers still applied. Go with me now as I complete my study of the remainder of the proverbs. I will release a 31 day listing of these proverbs until the proverbs are completed. Join me now in the first listing.

Proverbs Daily Devotions I - Mike Little

Proverbs 1:28-30 Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently, but they shall not find me, Because they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord: They would not accept my counsel, they spurned all my reproof."

Message: "You’ll need me then. You’ll call for me, but don’t expect an answer. No matter how hard you look, you won’t find me. Because you hated Knowledge and had nothing to do with the Fear-of-God, Because you wouldn’t take my advice and brushed aside all my offers to train you,"

Affirmation: I use the knowledge that God has given me each day to directly relate the news to His Good News. I see how God longs to fill me with the knowledge of Himself, and I use this filling to show my love for Him, daily.

The Lord has spoken and some refuse to accept His counsel. Some simply choose not to pay any attention to Him. Some openly deny Him and will not accept the Holy Spirit's teachings. How can man do this to the One who created him? Why can we live with ourselves when this contempt is on our hearts? It is not that they did not have an opportunity to receive this but that they choose to ignore what was in front of them and chose self over God. Is free will an evil thing that misleads us men? Bear in mind that the day is coming when all will call on the Lord to save them; but, for those who chose to ignore God and His counsel, it will be everlasting too late! How can we preclude this happening to us?

There is one very simple thing we can all do to make sure we don't face this rejection. If we will simply listen when the Word is spoken, we will be convicted of our weakness. We are warned throughout His Word for the ones with ears to hear. Hearing is not listening, but like any conversation, both parties must listen to hear the real message. If one listens, the Spirit will speak to the heart and the listener can hear the message from God.

Prayer: Lord, often I don't listen to Your message to me; I leap first instead of listening for your counsel. Help me today, Lord, to hear and appreciate your message to me. Help me know that many will refuse to listen to You because of some words or actions I have done; correct me gently and lovingly to become more for You. In His service,
