About this ebook

Fast Track to Victory, A Christian Guidebook is an unusual devotional book based on real-life experiences. Written and compiled by a former newspaper reporter, Cheryl Rogers, the book shares relevant life lessons including the retelling of her miraculous healing from Environmental Illness. Cheryl shares from the depths of her heart the lessons God taught her, lessons she wished she would have known years earlier. They include how to really love and forgive others (even when they've hurt us badly), why it's important to set aside pride, and how to deal with tragedy and death.

In short, Fast Track to Victory, A Christian Guidebook distills the biblical wisdom we need to live victorious Christian lives. A non-denominational book based on the King James Authorized Version, Fast Track teaches practical lessons that help unify the body of Christ.

    Preface

One of the biggest mistakes I made in life was not completely believing God was real. That doubt permeated my life, hindering my obedience, and more importantly, hampering my ability to have a relationship with the living God.

My conduct was based on religion, a set of rigid rules I tried to obey to feel good about myself — and to look good to others.

It wasn’t until I desperately needed God that I truly surrendered my life to him. It wasn’t until I surrendered my life to him that I really found him. It wasn’t until I found him that I learned the truth: You and I were made good. The things I didn’t like about myself ... weren’t me. Those things I didn’t like about others ... weren’t them. The devil and his demons had been lying to me, holding me down, and trying to keep me from being the person God made me to be!

Fast Track to Victory, A Christian Guidebook, is about encouraging you to seek and find the living God. It is about helping you know him better. It is about learning, in 40 quick lessons, how to live in the freedom he has for you.

In Fast Track to Victory, A Christian Guidebook, I share what God has taught me in bite-size, easy-to-digest portions. I offer biblical truths we often fail to get in other places: Lessons like how to love, how to cope with tragedy, why it’s important to avoid pride, and why it’s just plain smart to put God first.

I also include individual prayers to aid you on your quest towards spiritual growth and freedom.

While it’s possible to read Fast Track in one sitting, I believe you can get the most benefit from the book by reading one lesson every day for 40 days. My goal is to help you establish a regular prayer/worship time with God, or encourage and inspire you as you spend time seeking God on a regular basis.

Take time to pray over and reflect upon these lessons and study the Scriptures. Take God’s word into your heart.

If you prefer to undertake this study with the support of a small group, by all means do so! But start your journey; it begins with a single step!

It is my hope — and prayer — that these practical tools will put you on the fast track ... towards living the victorious Christian life. — Cheryl Rogers

    Acknowledgments

When God miraculously healed me from Environmental Illness, he used people of many different faiths to reach out to me in my need. It was impossible to credit anyone but him.

Besides my family, there were many others who prayed for me and taught me what they knew about God. All of them helped make this book possible. They contributed to this book because they contributed to who I am today. I am not a perfect, finished work — yet I have learned and grown, or was somehow blessed by their teaching, intercession or help.

I believe it is my turn to share what I have learned from God, the pain of my own life, and from many other people. Symbolically, it is like the baton, in this relay of life, has been passed to me.

    Thanks to all who helped.

Special thanks to Pastor Henry Wright, of Pleasant Valley Church in Thomaston, GA, and his staff, who played a major role in my spiritual growth and who have graciously allowed me to share their teachings; Pastor Sid Roth of Brunswick, GA, and his Messianic Vision radio show prayer team, who prayed for and declared me healed of Environmental Illness; and my pastor, Dale Brooks, from Centerpointe Community Church, Temple Terrace, FL.
