Tammy having liberal parents she's allowed to date boys were on the other hand Debbie whose parents have high Christian morals keep a tight rein on their daughter Debbie, not allowing her to date searching through her cell phone invading her privacy consulting her teachers at school and she forced to attend Bible study once a week as well as Wednesday and Sunday worship.
At the age of sixteen Debbie runs away from home hitchhiking from Oklahoma City to Chicago Illinois her guardian angel on her shoulder she makes it there safely without altercation, once in Chicago an ignorant teenager having lived a sheltered life unfamiliar with the ways of the world and life on the streets a tough place for an adult much less a juvenile she will have to grow up fast and learn on her own how to survive or she will surely perish without help.
Referred by Catholic family charities to St. Peter's Catholic church, hearing her story she having shown him a bruise she'd got from falling down portraying it as a bruise she'd received from her in anger from her father a young priest named father Jason Michaels taking pity on her.
She remaining within the parish sheltered from the outside world until shortly after she'd reached the age of eighteen then after a tearful parting of the ways having formed an attachment to the nuns and the father at the parish, Debbie leaves the church bound for what would befall her no longer protected from the dangerous onslaught that lie on the city streets of Chicago.
