chapter 1
Tori walked down the staircase that led to her apartment over the bookstore. She stopped at the landing and looked with pride at what she had accomplished. When she was 18 and just out of high school, she had never imagined this was how her life would turn out to be. She had thought college and graduation. Meeting a boy that her parents would approve of and getting married. Possibly having a career. Having children. Growing old with her man. But none of her life had followed that plan. Her life had turned out differently and she had had to make some adjustments. But she was satisfied with the end result. Once more, before she opened her bookstore, she remembered the turning point in her life.
She had been born Charlotte Ann Summerville. She preferred to be called Tori by her friends. She had Bostonian parents who could trace their ancestory back to the Mayflower. Naturally, they would never call her Tori. She had been the only child of older parents. They were proper and always did the right thing. She had never been proper and never did things in a way that satisfied her parents. She always came up wanting whether it was deportment or judgement. She didn’t even look like her parents. She had carrot red hair and turquoise eyes. She was small in stature but a whirlwind of energy. And she enjoyed befriending kids outside her social set. Not wild or dishonest but different. Since she went to a public school, her parents didn’t have a lot of control over that. They could have sent her to a private school but that would mean leaving home and they weren’t ready to do that.
She continued to make up her social circle from the melting pot of public school. They were smart, enthusiastic, and dreamed dreams. No one in the social set her parents were in were like that. They were stodgy and had their lives already laid out. She never invited her friends to her house. They wouldn’t be welcome. But she visited their homes where she was always welcome. When she was old enough to date, her parents had several candidates in mind for her. But Tori had her own preferences for boy friends and it didn’t include her parents’ selections. She liked the bad boys who wore leather jackets and zoomed around on their motorcycles with her on the back. Her parents simply didn’t know what to make of her.
She moved from boy to boy never really getting serious about anyone until she met Donnie when she turned seventeen. She was in her senior year of high school applying to various colleges. She was smart and kept a 3.0 grade average without even trying. If she had made the effort, she could have had a 4.0. However, with her parent’s money behind her, she didn’t need a scholarship. So she partied in high school passing her courses and having a good time. There had been something about Donnie that had attracted her from the start. She found him to be caring and honest, never playing her false. He had nice blue-collar parents and lived in a nice blue-collar neighborhood. She and Donnie eventually started going steady. They would go to the same college and they would marry some day. That was the plan.
She turned eighteen on the night of the prom. She told her parents that she would be going alone but she was meeting Donnie there. She drove the family car to the high school and entered the gym. The theme was disco and the gym was decorated like studio 54. Tori had been part of the decorating committee and she had found a magazine layout with pictures. They had a spinning ball on the ceiling and everything. A band made up of some of the students had been practicing disco style music for months. She was totally psyched over her senior prom. She met Donnie inside and they danced all night. They decided to go to lookout point in the family car to make out and look at the stars. Previously, when they had necked, they had been able to put the breaks on it. But for some reason, this time they lost control. Suddenly, they went from kissing and caressing to losing their clothes and stroking each other. Tori had never seen a naked man before. She stroked and explored his body wonderingly slowly making her way down to the apex of his body where his sex was located. It was long and hard but soft to the touch. She took her finger and touched the end of it and it twitched. She flinched a little but kept her finger there wonderingly. She carefully enclosed the length of it with her hand and Donnie groaned. She made to remove it but Donnie laid his hand over hers to keep it there. He showed her what to do. She played with his sex until he stopped her. Finally, he laid her flat on the car seat and bent over her. He covered her breasts with his hands and played with her nipples. A burning started deep inside her needing to be extinguished. Donnie explored her stomach and her thighs and slowly approached the apex of her femininity. Tori could feel her hips starting to thrust up at Donnie as if they knew what she needed. She felt Donnie enter her with a finger and felt a pain/pleasure from what he was doing. They were both past the point of stopping now. She felt a pressure being applied to her sex and opened her eyes. Donnie was over her and he was entering her with his sex. She didn’t stop him; she wanted this. She felt as if she had wanted this forever. She felt him push his way in until he was deep inside her. She felt her virginal wall tear, hurting her briefly. But after, it felt so good. Donnie started moving in and out of her and she felt a need growing in her. He picked up speed until he was pounding into her. Suddenly, she felt herself tighten and a warm wave washed over her. She shouted Donnie’s name at the same time that he shouted hers. They came together with Donnie shooting his seed inside her. It had felt so good. Her mother told her that sex was bad but something that felt this good couldn’t be bad. After resting briefly they both dressed. They drove to Donnie’s bike so he
