God had a plan and purpose for my life.

I hope that this book would be a blessing to everyone who reads it. We are not responsible for the families we were born into, but we are responsible for where we spend eternity.

    Introduction

1 Peter 1:20 says that we were predestinated from before the foundation of the world, and God had a plan and purpose for our lives. God placed his son in the womb of a young maiden so that he can be born upon this earth. For he was the Lamb slain from before the foundation of the world. God sent him to earth in the fullness of time to die for the sins of all mankind.

Likewise, we were placed in our mother’s womb at a specific time to be born and to fulfill our purpose in life. This is a decision that only we have to make. Joshua 24:15 says, Choose ye this day whom you would serve.

Born dead but God had a plan and purpose for my life, is the autobiography of my life.

    Part 1

On the third day of February 1943, a baby girl was born to Muslim parents. She was their fourth child. Before the baby came out, the hand was coming first. The midwife had to push the baby back and turn it so that the head can come first. Unfortunately, in their haste to turn the baby, something went wrong. When the child was born, she was dead and blue. The midwives, realizing that the baby was dead, put her aside and took care of the mother. In our country in South America, everyone had lots of space on their land, so they can bury their dead babies.

After twenty minutes, the two midwives decided to try and see if they do something to revive the baby before they bury it. They put the baby under a big basin (large bowl) and kept hitting the top, making a loud noise to revive baby, but it was not successful. They then put hot water jugs all around to see if the heat would revive the baby; nothing happened, no life. They did not know what else to do.

Eventually, one said to the other, Let us make a last try. If nothing happens, then they would have to bury the baby. One midwife held the baby’s two feet up with the head down, while the other wet a towel and smack the baby on the butt, then they heard a faint cry. To God be the glory; great things he has done. She is alive, they shouted. So that baby started life having lashes.

Today, that baby is 75 years old.

In those days, some women would go to their parents’ home instead of hospitals to have their babies, so my mother went to her mom’s home in another part of the country. Now, it was time for her to return home to raise her four kids with a husband who was an alcoholic and a wife beater. Many nights, when my father came home drunk and started to beat my mother, she would take us and run away to sleep at her friend’s. Sleeping was not comfortable. The house was small, and sometimes there were bugs inside. But we could not do better. I and my other three siblings went to primary school and later to high school.

Later, my mother had two other kids and was pregnant with her seventh child when my father died. I was fifteen years old. It was a relief to us when he died because we were fearful of him.

Now, the four elder siblings had to quit school because my mother could not afford to pay our school fees. But my father’s little brother decided he wanted me to finish school, so he paid my fees. Again, God had a plan for my life, so I found favor in my uncle. I finished school at age seventeen.

    My first School.

    FREEBURG ANELICAN SCHOOL IN GUYANA

    Part 2

Before finishing school, I had a boyfriend who would take me to school on my bicycle, then he would use my bike to go to his school. He would pick me up after school and bring me to a corner from home. That was the pattern of our relationship. He said he really wanted to marry me when he finished college.
