Poems Of A Musical Flavour: Volume 2
By Tiara King
()
About this ebook
This book features lyrics I wrote in 1991 when I was 17 years old and not doing much so what else would I do but write 131 songs. I was listening to more artists, grunge was in, and times were changing but my lyrics stayed the same. Lyrics from a young, naïve seventeen-year-old. The book also contains some witty one liners and anecdotes about what was happening, who I wanted to be, or who I had a crush on.
They are not perfect, nor meant to be, they’re just the musings of a young teenage girl with crushes and dreams.
Enjoy!

Poems Of A Musical Flavour - Tiara King
INTRODUCTION
This book is a culmination of my love of music.
In 1991 I was 17 years old and not doing much, so what else would I do but write 131 songs. I was listening to more artists, grunge was in, times were changing, but my lyrics stayed the same. Lyrics from a young, naïve 17 year old.
I’ve written a line or two about the artist or song that inspired me with the lyrics, and why, on many of the songs, most of which are pop songs unless otherwise stated, and hopefully I won’t get sued for using someone as inspiration (so many lawsuits going on these days). But jokes aside, I was young and a teenager and these songs are what I came up with. And now I’m publishing them just for the fun of it, and to have more books under my name on my author page and on my bookshelf.
Whether or not you enjoy them is up to you, but remember, if you plagiarise me, you’re being sued...and no, I’m not joking…
Thank you to all the muses, guides, helpers, inspirational musicians and singers that gave me the lines, the titles, the ideas for these songs. I honour you and dedicate these books to all of you.
1991
LOSING CONTROL
Rewritten in 1991.
V1
I feel I’ve lost all control,
And nothing seems real…
I should have listened to my heart,
To see how I feel.
V2
I can’t comprehend the change,
You’ve made to my life,
I’ve never felt like this, but with,
You it seems so right.
CHORUS
I lose all control, when I’m around you,
Oh baby you’re making me crazy,
And when you’re with me,
I just forget where we are,
And I feel like I’m Losing Control.
V3
I’ve never known anyone,
Like you before…
I’ve never known a love so strong,
Now I come back for more.
V4
Things seem so different,
I’ve changed my point of view,
On love and affection,
Now with you it’s just so new.
CHORUS
V5
You’ve stolen my heart,
And taken over my world,
But you know you’ll get the love,
All from this girl.
GETTIN’ DOWN TO BUSINESS
Rewritten in 1991 and is a Jem and The Holograms outfit.
V1
I’ve waited all week,
To be with you,
Now the weekend’s here,
And you know it’s true.
V2
We can have some fun,
Now we’re together,
We can get things done,
It might last forever.
CHORUS
Gettin’ Down To Business,
That’s what I’m doing,
I’m gonna have fun,
Now that I’m with you,
Gettin’ Down To Business,
I’m just doing, what has to be done,
So I can be with you.
V3
We can have a party,
Just for two,
We can play some games,
Just me and you.
V4
We’re gonna have a great time,
I’ve been waiting for this,
Now I’m gonna make you mine,
With just one kiss.
CHORUS
BRIDGE
Just one kiss and you’ll be mine,
Just one touch and you’ll be fine,
One warm embrace and you’ll be gone,
One slight caress it won’t be wrong.
DAY AFTER DAY
Inspired by Debbie Gibson’s Another Brick Falls from Anything Is Possible.
V1
Day after day I try to,
Head my life in the right direction,
Things may seem tough, oh,
But I’ve got a good intention.
V2
I know now is the right time,
The right time to make my move,
I’ve gotta take a chance, oh,
Coz I’ve got nothing to lose.
CHORUS
Day After Day I try to keep up, oh,
But the things I want are so out of reach, oh,
And Day After Day I got to, stop, pretending,
That the pain, is, never…ending.
V3
Time and time again I think that,
I seem a little, a little naïve, oh,
But I tell myself that I just,
Have to believe, oh, oh.
V4
And I know that, that I,
I see to hesitate, oh,
And I know before long, I,
Just maybe too late, oh, oh.
CHORUS
BRIDGE
And when life seems a little rough,
All I know is I’ve got to get tough,
Or I won’t get anywhere,
I got to keep on going on,
Even though it seems so long,
Go, a little further…
MADE IN HEAVEN ballad
Inspired by Kylie Minogue’s Made in Heaven and Heaven and Earth, and Debbie Gibson’s Negative N.R.G.
CHORUS
Somethings are made to last,
Like the love I feel for you,
We know it’s a love that’s true,
For it was Made In Heaven.
V1
It was a simple heartbeat,
That made me feel this way,
I’d never known anything like it,
Till this very day.
V2
I’m gonna make sure,
It works out right,
So I’m the one,
Holding you tonight.
V3
I only wanna be the one,
That gets all your attention,
I know now that nothing’s wrong,
With our situation.
V4
You keep saying,
I’m loving you right,
So I’m the girl,
Holding you tight.
CHORUS
BRIDGE
I remember days when I was so lonely,
But now you’re here and you’re the only one,
And in my sleep I hear you calling,
That this is the only love you’ve ever known.
NEVER GONNA LET YOU GO
Inspired by Debbie Gibson’s Deep Down.
V1
I’m not gonna sit around and cry,
I wanna keep you close so why,
Do you continue to run away from me?
And when I catch you, you smile,
Oh boy you know you drive me wild,
It’s an emotion that’s just so heavenly.
And when I’m dreamin’ about you,
I know, how I’m feelin’ about you.
CHORUS
I’m Never Gonna Let You Go,
Coz I took so long to feel it,
Can’t you see it?
And now I know,
That you believe it, receive it,
All my lovin’ belongs to you.
V2
Now that I’ve made up my mind,
I’m gonna take a bit of time,
To make you see that it’s true,
I’ve waited way too long,
I dedicate this song,
And all my love to you.
It was worth the waiting baby,
Coz you know, you’re making me crazy.
CHORUS
BRIDGE
All you have to do is touch my hand,
And I know you understand,
What I see in you,
We knew it was love in a glance,
All we had to do was give a chance,
To our love.
GOTTA TAKE A CHANCE
Inspired by Indecent Obsession #1’s Nowhere to Hide and Kylie Minogue’s Nothing To Lose.
V1
It seems like I’ve been waiting for days,
Just to see your face,
There was just no other way,
No steps, I could retrace.
V2
I wasn’t sure of how to go about it,
I wasn’t sure of what to do,
The only thing I know was,
I had to have you.
CHORUS
I’ve Gotta Take A Chance,
On our love,
Coz I won’t share you,
With any other girl,
Gotta make a move,
On your love,
Coz there’s no other,
Love in this world.
V3
I converted all my energy,
Into chasing you, oh, woh, oh oh,
Boy you know you’re the remedy,
For my breaking heart, oh, oh.
V4
There’s so much time to think about it,
So much time to plan,
I hope you understand why,
Things are in your hands.
CHORUS
BRIDGE
I know I have to take a chance,
But there’s no price I had to pay,
I know I have to make a move,
Coz when you want something,
You want it yesterday.
BEAT OF MY HEART
V1
As I was sleeping last night,
I was dreaming of you,
And I swear I heard you say,
Those words ‘I love you’.
V2
Well something magical happened,
Something I can’t explain,
Or was it just a Beat of My Heart.
CHORUS
You spin me round and round,
