About this ebook
Destination is a book of poetry that will hopefully encourage each reader to treat others with respect and kindness. As the saying goes, "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about."
Destination is written by a teenager who has battled bullying her entire life, and has seen the impact it has had on others in her life.
Teens will especially benefit from this book- those are being bullied will see they are not alone, and those who are being a bully may see how their words and actions affect those around them.
Charley Jo Guernsey
Charley Guernsey is a high-school sophomore. Her passion is for writing; both poetry and prose are a part of her portfolio but she is truly gifted to write poetry. She was born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, and the health problems related to those have resulted her having thirty-four surgeries. Spina Bifida is a birth defect where there is an incomplete closing of the backbone and membranes around the spinal cord, and most people who are born with SB are not able to walk, but Charley is blessed to be able to walk.Hydrocephalic babies are born with too much cerebrospinal fluid within the brain. One way to treat this is by inserting a shunt to drain excess fluid. As you can tell, Charley’s health challenges have been tough on her and her family, but she has been inspired to write because of these challenges. She has a message for those who are reading this book: you are not alone. She wants to inspire you to have hope. You can do anything you set your mind to.She wants to encourage you to be strong and brave; and to remember that God has given you a purpose for your life.

Destination - Charley Jo Guernsey
I’ve been at warfare for a time now…
Not with tenderness and loathe,
But with my soul.
Do you ever get that hollow feeling inside,
Like there is nothing left of you,
Or even for you?
Yeah, same here.
These battle scars are profound,
They will never mend,
They will never be the same again.
Haunting me for the rest of my life,
Day by day,
Even hour by hour.
These scars will remain on my heart,
Leaving a forever wound,
That not even a bandage could heal.
The agony I go through everyday,
Nobody really sees.
Because behind this fake smile,
Is a girl with depression and anxiety.
Making me the gloomy girl,
Who is scared of really, reality!
But that pretend beam
Goes a long way.
It makes everyone think
That everything is perfect,
That nothing is wrong whatsoever.
But really on the inside,
Is a girl who is struggling.
A girl who is wondering,
When everything will get better,
And that girl is me..
If I Had a Chance
If I had a chance,
I would turn back time,
So that you didn’t end up
In my life…
You said you weren’t like the rest,
Turns out you weren’t,
You were worse!
Do you see that girl,
The one in the corner of the room?
The one that is always so cheerful,
The one who never fails to make a smile appear,
On someone else’s face?
Have you ever thought about
