This book is dedicated to anyone who has been in love at some point in their life or has gone through a breakup. I feel your pain, but it will be alright in the end. This is for my hopeless romantics out there and for anyone who loves reading feelings in poetic form.
To My Audience
I’m afraid to let you in
Allow you to see my true colors
Unbeknownst to you, I’m a chameleon
And I don’t work well with others
My thoughts stay locked up
Concealed. Hidden from public eye
Like showing my emotions
Is a high paying crime
All the time I’ve spent,
All the hours wasted
All my feelings on the shelf
All my hidden creations
They will finally come to light
Go past judgment from you
I’m just afraid of the scrutiny
Or the negative reviews
These are my feelings
A journey traveled alone
A glance at my past
Just to see how much I’ve grown
But if I can touch one soul,
Change the perspective of one person
Then deep down I believe
The negativity will be worth it
So I hope you enjoy the show
The doors are now open
So be seated, open your minds
Enjoy being my audience
Welcome
Welcome, welcome
Come one, come all
Welcome to my universe
Welcome to my thoughts
Welcome to my dreams
My aspirations, the obscene
Welcome to everything
That simply makes me, me
All the things that make me tick
Little antics that make me pissed
All the love affairs, don’t be scared
But enter at your own risk
Better hold on tight
It’s a crazy, bumpy ride
But enjoy your time
Through the twists and turns of my mind
Share my innermost emotions
My inner demons, the commotion
Feel my pain through the flames
Share all the heartbroken
So please, take a seat
Sit back and open your mind
And welcome to my universe
Welcome to my mind
Are You the One
Are you the one
I can hold at night
The one I can rely on
To keep things right
And when shit goes down,
Will you be around
Or will you up and leave
To get out of town
Are you the one I can talk to
If I have problems
Can you say things to make things right
And give me ways to solve them
Can you make me feel better
When things ain’t going too good
The one that will make me feel
Like a real woman should
Are you the one I’ve been longing for
All my life
The one I’d stay with
Till the day that I died
The one I can grow old with
The one I can always kiss
And if you’re gone for too long,
The one I will always miss
I know I will be there
If ever you get upset
The one you can rely on
If you’re feeling a little depressed
The one you can touch
The one you can always hold
The one that will be with you
When you’re out in the cold
And when you can’t get a job,
I’ll still be there
And when I get a little something,
I’ll always share
I want to be with you
For a long, long time
The one I can never seem
To get off my mind
So I’ll tell you this
From the bottom of my heart
I want to be together
And no longer apart
This is Love
Even though I just met you
Seems like we’ve known each other for a while
I love everything about you
But mainly I love your smile
I love all the silly things you do
And baby I’m digging your style
I see you have much love for me too
By the way you make love to me with your eyes
And baby boy when I’m without you
My heart inside cries
Feeling your energy near me
Keeps my soul alive
I’m sure that what I’m saying isn’t anything new
Just wanted you to know how I felt inside
You’re my best friend and my lover
Couldn’t see me not by your side
I don’t think you know how much I care for you
I will give it all for you
Do it all for you
Do just about anything if you ask me to
I love it when you kiss me up
Or touch me with your gentle touch
This is more than infatuation
Baby I think this is love
What Matters Most
I’m not like those other chicks
You may see on TV
And I’m not the chicks
You see walking down the street
So what if I don’t dress
The way that they do
I wanna be different
I don’t wanna be just like you
I’m not after your money
I have my own
Don’t need you to buy me things
Just need your love shown
You don't have to spend your cash
I’m not a materialistic girl
I don’t want fur coats
Diamonds or pearls
I wouldn’t care if you were poor
And living in a box
I wouldn’t care if you were dirty,
With holy socks
I don’t care what people think of us
Or what they have to say
They can talk shit about us
Each and every day
I don’t think you get it,
I really think you don’t
You keep saying baby don’t cheat on me
Baby I swear I won’t
So take some time
To let my words set in
I promise I’ll be with you
Through thick… and… thin
Why’d I Let You Go
I saw you with your new girlfriend today
It hurt me deeply, I’m sad to say
I thought I was over you
But that I found untrue
I wanted to cry
As I sadly walked by
I can’t seem to get it through my mind
That you’re no longer mine
I still need your touch
Oh so very much
I long to kiss you
Hug you
Adore you
I miss holding you tight
And without you I’m not right
There’s a hole in my heart
Now that we're not together, but apart
I can’t stand this pain
Like being alone in the rain
Alone and cold
With no one to hold
You treated me like a queen
Was never mean to me
So why’d I let you go
Baby boy you were too old
Number One Fan
Today you told me
Some upsetting news
Although I’m happy,
I’m also sad too
I understand you wanna get
Off the streets
Attending school
Is what you need to succeed
You want an education
To better your life
Told me eventually,
I’d become your wife
To tell you the truth,
I can see that coming true
No matter what happens
It’s you I’ll always run back to
Don’t let anyone tell you,
You can never make it
You can do whatever
As long as you put your all into it
I just wanted to let you know
I’m behind you all the way
Just as long as you think of me
Each and every day
I’m here as you leave
Will be here when you get back
Yes, my Love
It’s always gonna be like that
I’ll be your Bonnie
If you be my Clyde
I’ll ride out with you
Until the day that I die
So this is for you
My number one man
Keep in mind
No matter what you do
I’ll always be
Your number one fan
What Do You Mean
What do you mean
You cheated
You cheated after all I did
Are you crazy
What do you mean
It’s all my fault
You say it’s not cheating
Till you get caught
I should have listened to
