About this ebook

Eros' second victim, from his drunken folly on Valentine's Day, is in major trouble. Her life is falling apart and she is spinning out of control. Could it be the legend causing all this angst?

Legend says if Eros' lead arrow pierces your heart, it will turn cold as stone right before you die.

Samantha Porter is a woman who has experienced enough bad in her life. Her marriage was a mistake, she lost her coveted job, and her mother is sick. After returning home and landing a new job at the local paper, Sam feels she is getting her life back on track, and she even agrees to go out with the wildly sexy sheriff, Aidan Wolfe, the man she's been secretly attracted to since her return. Everything seems to go well on their date until Eros’ arrow pierces Samantha’s heart.

Sheriff Aidan Wolfe, Alpha of the Pacific Northwest Wolf Pack, is in a precarious situation. He is in a race with time to determine why there is a shortage of mates for his pack. On top of that, he has a group of wolves attacking humans, his little sister is driving him to drink, and the sexy human reporter he’s had his eye on has triggered his need to mate. Unfortunately for him, his wolf pack is dead set against it.

In Touch of the Irish 2: Wolfe’s Heart we meet new majickal beings like Mabh, Queen of the Wolves and Maureen, a Karma Faerie. But, don’t fret, Sheridan is back and ready to help save Samantha...and the wolves.

I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and hope I do much better with future book releases. Thank you for you understanding and patience. Savvy I began writing almost 20 years ago but only recently decided to publish. Writing has been one of the most enjoyable aspects of my life. It has allowed me to experience knew things, transported me to new places and allowed me to meet knew people. I also enjoy photography, graphic arts, and many other forms of artistic expression. I created the cover for Dreams and have created the cover for the next three novels in the series. Because I am usually behind the camera rather in front of it, I do not have an author's photo I can put up but I am working to correct this and hope to have it up soon. I have been married for nearly 25 years to my best friend, adventure/travel partner, confidant and greatest critic, Caleb. We have a unique relationship in that we do everything together. I call Caleb my greatest critic because he only wants the best for me and is always willing to give me honest feedback concerning my writing. We live in the Deep South, for now, but have lived all over the US and Germany. We have two Black Labrador Retrievers we adopted from rescue shelters. One is a full Black Lab and the other is a Lab/Australian Dingo mix. Thank you for your interest in my books, I look forward to giving you many years of enjoyable reading. The Gods

    Celtic Pantheon

Morrigan - Queen of the Celtic Gods, Goddess of War and Death, Supreme Warrior Goddess. Married to the Daghda. A shapeshifting War Goddess of Sensuality, Magic, Prophecy, Revenge, and War. Known as Great Queen, Supreme War Goddess, Queen of Phantoms, and Specter Queen. She kept company with Fea (hateful), Badb (fury), and Macha (battle). Also known as a Triple Goddess from Maiden, Mother and Crone. Patroness of priestesses and witches.

Aine of Knockaine - Queen of the Faeries. Goddess of Love and Fertility. Once had a love affair with Eros, God of Love and Excess. Eros often comes back to Aine to clean up his messes, because he knows she can’t refuse him, due to her being accidentally shot with one of his golden arrows. Aine is working on removing this curse, but for now is bound to Eros’ will.

Mabh - Pronounced Meev. The Wolf Queen, ruler of the Wolf Shifters. A demigod of the Fey people, and Queen of the Dark Faeries. She is the maternal half-sister to Aine, Queen of the Faeries, and Morrigan, Supreme Warrior Goddess, Queen of the Celtic Gods. Mabh is known to have a quick temper when her wolves are threatened. A powerful dark majick user, but not necessarily considered evil. She is logical and methodical, and is not to be trifled with. She has a powerful hatred of all things Greek, especially Aphrodite and Eros.

Aes Sidhee Fey - Pronounced ‘Ess Shee’ - Believed to be the ancestors, the spirits of nature, or the Goddesses or Gods themselves. In truth, they are not the Gods, but are the ancestors, the holders of the Secrets of the Fey.

    Greek Pantheon

Zeus - God of the Sky and ruler of the Olympian Gods. Father of Aphrodite

Aphrodite - Goddess of Love, Desire and Beauty. Mother of Eros

Eros - Primordial God of Love. Carries a double-stringed bow and, depending on his arrows, can make any soul fall in love or become cold and indifferent. The story goes Aphrodite was jealous of the beautiful human princess, Psyche. She ordered her son, Eros, to make Psyche fall in love with the most hideous creature on Earth. When Eros sets out to fulfill his mother’s command, he accidentally pricks his thumb with his own arrow and, thus, becomes a victim of his own magic; thereby, falling in love with Psyche. The same arrow that pricked Eros’ thumb hits its target, Psyche’s heart. The two fall madly in love, and Eros carries her off to his opulent abode, making her his wife. A short time later, Psyche’s jealous sister led Psyche into betraying Eros, which in turn made him abandon Psyche, leaving her to roam the Earth without him. After much strife and arguing and Psyche begging, Aphrodite eventually caved and set up a series of tests for Psyche to complete to prove her fidelity. Psyche completes each test successfully, thereby forcing Aphrodite to uphold her vow to make Psyche immortal, thus reuniting Eros and his bride. Don’t think the story is a happy one. Although Eros and Psyche are madly in love with each other, they don’t really like one another most days and fight constantly. What do you expect when one is the God of Love, Desire, and Excess, and the other is touted to be more beautiful and desirable than Aphrodite herself?

    The Legend of the Wolf

Rumor has it, Aphrodite was once exiled from Mount Olympus by Zeus. She ran to her friend Branwen, a minor Celtic Goddess of Love and Beauty. While staying in the Celtic Gods’ realm, Aphrodite’s eye was caught by a handsome Aes Sdhee named Mynogan.

Mynogan only had eyes for his mate Keeva and rebuffed Aphrodite's declarations of love. Enraged at being rejected, Aphrodite set out to destroy Mynogan and Keeva and enlisted the aid of Eros, commanding he shoot his lead arrows at the couple to turn their love to hatred. Eros’ aim was true and his lead arrow pierced Mynogan’s heart with the first shot. As everyone knows if one of Eros' lead arrows penetrates the heart, the victim's heart will turn cold as stone and, eventually, the blow will kill them.

As the lead infected Mynogan’s heart, he became cold and embittered toward all that loved him, and those he loved. His only and much beloved daughter, Grainne, saw what was happening to her father and, in an act of pure selflessness, offered herself to the Gods if only they would cure her father’s heart. Her offer of sacrifice was so pure and great the Gods felt moved to grant her her wish, but with one condition: Grainne would not die in her father’s place, but would be transformed into a shifter being and forever be separated from her loving family.

Mabh, Queen of the Dark Faeries, was so outraged that the pure love and sacrifice of a child would be handled so callously, she took Grainne into her home as her adopted daughter. As the centuries passed, Grainne flourished. Mabh was a wonderfully attentive mother, but there was something missing in her beloved daughter’s life. Knowing Grainne as she did, Mabhe set out to bring her daughter true happiness. Mabh searched the majickal and human realms for a companion worthy of a heart as pure as Grainne’s. After many centuries, she found Owyn Ap Nels.

Owyn was a human man known for his fierce protectiveness, loyalty and strength. Mabh was certain he was the perfect match for Grainne. As the legend goes, it did not take long before the two fell deeply in love. However, there were obstacles that had to be overcome in order for the young lovers to remain together. Grainne was cursed to be a shifter, which prevented her from mating with a human. Grainne was also an immortal and could not die a natural death. Loving a mortal, she would soon find herself alone once again.

Owyn, willing to sacrifice anything to be with Grainne, went to Mabh for help. Mabh, unable to reconcile her daughter being unhappy for even one additional day, cast a spell to change Owyn to a shifter being. As a human, the spell only allowed him one additional form, other than human. Owyn’s own nature of being protective, loyal and strong chose the form he would have, that of the wolf.

Loving Owyn as she did, Grainne gave up her ability to shift into other forms. Knowing the couple would only have the short span of Owyn’s human life to be together, Mabh cast an old dark majick spell linking Owyn’s mortal life to Grainne’s immortality, allowing the two to live many centuries longer than was natural. Not wanting Grainne to lose her mate and be heartbroken, Mabh cursed them twice. The first curse ensured only mated pairs could bear offspring. The second would cause the mated pair to die together.

Mabh’s interference with the natural order of a human’s life made it possible for Owyn and Grainne to be the first mated wolf shifter pair and, thus, made Mabh the Queen of the Wolves. Having linked the pair’s life forces together, Mabh had created a species of wolves that required the linking of lifelines to their destined mate. As wolves are known to be territorial creatures and tend to stay in one geographical location, this created a problem of finding true mates. Without a mated pair, there could be no children, leaving more and more wolves to live a lonely, barren existence.

Owyn and Grainne eventually had two sons. Filtiarn, the eldest, embraced his wolf and fathered the shifter packs. Weylyn, the second son, turned away from his wolf, creating a shiftless species of wolf shifters who lived only as humans.

As more centuries passed, Mabh watched as her beloved wolves became desperate for mates. This desperation led to aggressive behavior, and finally culminated in the hunting down of the wolves by the Sidhe. The Sidhe were a warrior class of Fey who were comfortable in the role of judge, jury, and executioner. The wolves dwindled down to small packs spread throughout the human realm. In a final effort to save her wolves, Mabh cast one last dark majick spell which allowed the decedents of Weylyn to mate and procreate with the shifter wolves, thus ensuring the continuation of the species.

As time passed, fewer and fewer of Weylyn’s decedents made themselves known. With the two lineages not connecting, Weylyn’s grandchildren became lost to the packs, bringing the wolves right back to their original plight. No mated pairs meant no children. No children meant no mated pairs.
