    Overview of Terra Boundaries

Luke is a battle hardened alpha werewolf. Growing up during the worst of the Fae wars had damaged him inside and out. When he discovered his soul mate was an earth Fae he rejected her immediately and forced himself not to think of her ever again.

As an earth Fae and a born healer the war and its casualties were often too much for Magdalena to endure. So when her soul mate rejects her just for being a Fae she quickly agrees to help create a new dimension and escape the realities of the real world.

So what happens when Luke and Magdalena find themselves both living on the same side of the veil? Will Luke have the strength to reject Magdalena again or this time will she be the one doing the rejecting?

    Prologue

The Fae once ruled the earth long ago before my time. Once they owned the earth, sky and the seas. They even owned all the beings born and created. The Fae were a proud strong race. Like the beasts and the humans Fae lived, loved and laughed.

As the war between the Fae and the beasts escalated and the Beasts gained the upper hand the Fae were forced to hide in the shadows and fear for their lives. Each year the Fae species dwindled. Soon, very soon they will disappear as a species from the earth.

It's their own fault their days are numbered. They desired to live forever as masters of the world. They used the ones with beasts within them to do their bidding. When they fought back the Fae created the human race to defend them so that they could continue their endless quest for more power and more domination.

The Fae made two fatal errors during the war. The first was to create the human race. They created humans in the image of the beasts but left no magic in their souls. The humans could fight the beasts on the Fae's behalf and could breed three times as fast as the Fae.

The humans however came with new diseases that killed the Fae faster than the beasts. Before long in order to avoid the germs and plagues of the humans the Fae were forced to cast the humans out of their homes and into the hands of the beasts.

The second major error was the magic used by Queen Jaranna that split the souls of beasts in half. The old queen Jaranna along with her brother harnessed the magic of many Fae to create a spell they believed would finally turn the war back into the favor of the Fae. They split the souls of every beast in two and cast them out in different directions.

As they'd hoped the shattering of the beasts’ souls stopped them dead in their tracks. Many beasts even died from pure heart ache. The spell however had unforeseen consequences. More specifically it had also rebounded and hit the Fae people as well.

For a time the fighting paused while both the Fae and the beasts tried to learn to live with half a soul. Then the beasts did something the Fae never expected. They searched and found their missing half of their souls. Beast mated, blooded and bonded with beast and sometimes even humans. With the knowledge that they could be reunited with their missing piece of their soul the war moved on and the beasts regained control.

Unlike the beasts, the Fae didn't find their other half in a Fae. When the spell rebounded on the Queen their missing halves were cast out among all the beasts and humans. When they found their other half in a human slave or a beast they rejected it. It was considered sullied and impure and was buried inside an unworthy vessel. Fae law dictated they killed it and moved on by simply embracing the part they had left. After a time the Fae became somewhat emotionless. Soon the beasts and the humans began to mate and the Fae had no more recourse. It was clear the time of the Fae was over and the age of man and beast had begun.

I was born during the final few years of queen Jaranna's reign. I was just a small child when Jaranna cast the spell and tore my soul in half, leaving me feeling empty and vulnerable. I lived with my parents in a small colony of earth Fae. My parents moved us often in an attempt to avoid the war. I like my mom and dad was born an empath and a natural healer. Basically that meant I not only sensed but I actually experienced the pain and emotions from those around me.

Shortly after my twentieth birthday destiny cast my soul mate into my path. As fate would have it, his name was Luke and he was an Alpha Lycan sent to destroy my small colony of Earth Fae. He and his pack ruthlessly attacked our camp and ended the lives of all who engaged them in battle.

Because we are empaths and natural healers my parents and I are incapable of violence. The emotions of the wounded and dying rendered us useless by virtue of overwhelming influx of pain and sorrow. We were forced to lie on our sides and writhe in pain until the battle was finished.

When Luke found me and my parents he immediately cast judgment against us and labeled us cowards. Our hands and feet were bound together so that we could not run or fight. The act of binding us together filled me and the other survivors with despair. Then as expected he sentenced us and the other survivors to burn to death at sunrise.

I knew before he did. I felt my soul call out to his and I knew his body held the missing half of my soul. I wanted to say something; I wanted to beg for mercy for my family and the other survivors. Since he was my soul mate, he just might be lenient with us. I suddenly found myself filled with hope.

Then he reached out and grabbed my arm. I felt tingles of pleasure in the spot where his hand connected with my arm. It was so wonderful I might have moaned in pleasure. I looked up into his eyes and I knew he knew too knew that I was his soul mate.

I held my breath as I watched his face process several emotions. I opened myself to his feeling and I knew he was experiencing turmoil. Then to my surprise I could feel hatred and pure repugnance fill his heart and soul. I watched his eyes roamed over my entire body before he spit in my face and proclaimed loudly enough for his entire pack to hear

This one has my missing soul within her. I reject her! As a coward and a filthy Fae she is not worthy of me.

Then he threw me towards another Lycan. I assumed was his beta based on the emotions coming from him and said in a voice filled with hostility

Michael, see that she burns with the other cowards and survivors. I am going to work with the others and see if there is any salvageable food or weapons before we head back to our camp.

Then he turned and moved out of my visual range. I heard the one he called Michael take a deep breath. Then he pulled the rope that tied me to my parent and the others and forced us to sit inside a circle of rocks. Below us was dry wood clearly meant to accelerate the fire. I watched as he looked to the sky to determine the hour. By my guess we had less than an hour before he would set us on fire. Knowing that our time had come my father called out to the survivors, his voice strong and full of conviction.

My fellow Fae let us die with pride and dignity. Concentrate and allow yourself to find peace in meditation.

Hearing my father’s words, I immediately closed my eyes and tried to push all thoughts and emotions away from me. I was taking long, slow deep breaths. I know the Lycan’s making sure to place smaller sticks and leaves at all around us, each time I felt one of them empty their arms I couldn’t stop myself from thinking how it was more kindle for the fire.

Then just as I sensed the sun was about to rise I caught a whiff of the overwhelming scent of sulfur. Sulfur was bad. Somewhere deep inside of me in a place I didn't want to go to, I knew the truth. The smell was from a Dragon. And a dragon meant our deaths would be incredibly painful since the fire from a dragon would melt our skin off, boil our blood and burn or bones to ash.

    Chapter 1

    Magdalena’s AKA Maggie’s POV

Demetri for pity's sake please stop fussing. I'm fine. I'm a Fae and can withstand much more than a human. If you want to fuss over someone go fuss over your human mate Rosalyn.

Demetri smiled at me then allowed his gaze to roam over to his human mate. I watched his face light with pure love and pleasure. I too allowed my eyes to follow his. Rosalyn was a beautiful human. Despite her torn dirty clothes she still looked wonderful. With long jet black hair, pretty bright blue eyes and perfect heart shaped lips not to mention her magnificent layer of teal colored scales.

I learned many things in the days following Demetri saving us. For one, it turns out that when a dragon blood bonds with a mate human or beast they too become covered in nearly impenetrable scales.

Also, it seems the beasts prefer monogamous relationships and are very modest with their bodies and their sexual relations. I was also exposed to a whole lot of new emotions that I had no words for like jealousy, envy and a weird and very strong form of possessiveness.

But the most important thing I learned was that the beasts could be honorable to a fault. They would do anything to protect their mate and they rarely if ever cared what species their mate was. I was told the beasts always accept their mate. It's the Fae that try to fight it. Then to my surprise I met several couples that were a mix of beast and Fae. That was the only lesson that cut me to the bone.

Roslyn laughed when she noticed Demetri and me looking at her. Then just to tease us she started to spin in a circle while cricking her finger towards Demetri to join her. I knew the two of them could use some much needed privacy so I waved goodbye and headed back towards the cave we currently called home.

I entered the cave and was briefly assaulted by the feeling of hunger. I pushed the emotion from my mind and forced myself to concentrate on finding my parents. I spotted my mom and dad huddled together around a small fire chewing on a piece of tree bark.

I knew my parents like many of the other refugees hadn't eaten in days. The truth is while we managed as a group to stay out of the battles, we were slowly but surely dying of starvation. It was just too hard to find shelter near a reliable source of food. It always seemed like we had to make a choice; safety or food. But I knew if we didn't find a reliable safe haven near food, this little band of refugees would seize to exist.

I sighed as I sat down next to my parents. My father looked up and smiled while he handed me a piece of tree bark. The bark had absolutely no nutritional value but it did allow for us to generate more saliva that hid our hunger pains just a little better. I absently started chewing on the bark when I felt rather than heard the attack.

A group of earth Fae attacked a sleeping pack of Lycan. The Lycan's awoke and started to kill anyone and anything that wasn't a member of their pack. Unfortunately our little camp was smack dab between the two.

I watched through pain filled eyes as Demetri tried to use his large dragon body to protect us. He took beating but still he blocked the Fae and the Lycan from getting into the cave. We heard and felt Rosalyn scream and knew that Demetri received a death blow. My father turned to me and the other Fae and shouted

My fellow Fae you know as well as I do that we can fix this. We can save us all. We can save our families and our group. We can create a dimension and leave this world and the war behind. Lend me your strength and I will sacrifice mine and my families.

I didn't really understand what my father meant or what the sacrifice would be. I only knew I wanted the pain to end. I held his hand as he began to chant. Soon all the Fae in the cave chanted with him. I watched as the world twisted inside and out. Then to my shear amazement I watched as the cave walls slipped away and our little band of refugees was instead suddenly on a quite hillside with no pain and no sign of the war in sight.

I turned to smile at my father and realized that both he and my mother appeared to be completely drained of their life essence. I squinted and pulled my dad into my arms. He weakly smiled at me and said in a soft voice

Your mother and I gladly gave our lives for yours and the others. Don't you dare cry and darken my gift. Honor us by making this new place a home. Love the others and try to find and embrace your soul mate. I trust in time your empath emotions will come back. I'm sorry I had to sacrifice them. I took only what I needed but I know you will be week for many months to come.

I watched my father’s eyes close then both my mother and my father simply disappeared. I should have screamed. I should have cried. I did neither however since my father's spell hadn't just taken my empath emotions it drained all my emotions. I stood looking at my new world and didn't feel a damn thing.

    Three months later

Doc Maggie, Demetri is bringing in what's left of a Lycan pack. They were attacked last night and the majority of the pack was slaughtered in their sleep.

I heard Riley's shout and bolted off the cot I'd been sleeping on. I flicked on the lights telepathically and immediately started to prepare my small hospital for the incoming wounded.

How many this time? I shouted back at Riley

Not as many as he'd hoped Doc. Sounds like only four survivors. The Alpha, his son and two other children from his pack. he said back

I could hear he was getting closer and closer to me. I felt a small pang of emotion thinking of the injured children but it quickly dissipated and I returned to my cold emotionless self.

Do you know the ages of the children? I asked Riley as he came around the corner.

Real young Doc. Demetri said they were so small he had to put them all in his mouth. Plus he thought they were sickly even before being attacked.

Hearing how small they were from Riley I quickly conjured three cribs. I would need to keep them contained safely in order to help them. Then I prepared a tranquilizer to knock out the Alpha. Chances are the Alpha wouldn't see me as a Doctor or an Ally. With his pack having been decimated he would assume I was a threat. I would need to keep
