All the kids were accounted for except for Andy, so they all had to cancel the drill and go back in to find Andy. Andy became a hero that day and showed his Runch Bunch family that he is truly special!

Chianne Johnson- I am the author of The Runch Bunch® book series. I was born in Bronx, NY and raised in Queens, NY. I am a retired NYC Police Officer (Youth Officer), former high school and collegiate athlete, and former basketball coach . I have always had a love for children of all ages and a passion for helping them become better individuals. I have come in contact with a lot of less fortunate children during my career and I’ve helped mold a few of them into becoming better people and preparing them for the real world. I feel every child deserves a fair chance at life and it’s only fair if I contributed to that.I decided to write these short stories and bring awareness to children who don’t have a voice. Children with “different needs” seem to be forgotten. My goal in writing this series is to empower children of different needs and to teach other children that they are equal to them. I want everyone to treat people with different needs as if they are the same, because they are. They may have a physical challenge or a mental challenge or even a medical challenge but it still doesn’t mean they are not human. They have feelings, emotions, and a great heart just like everyone else. It isn’t okay to stare, or chuckle or to belittle someone because they are different. I want THE RUNCH BUNCH® to be the face and voice of children with different needs.
