    What She Needs

It takes a very special kind of person to get whatever they want, all the time. Some can get what they want, some of the time, but there are the few, the more determined ones who get what they want all the time and at all costs.

Candice was one of those. An only child, raised by a recluse mother who loved her daughter more than anyone could fathom, sacrificing both present and future to make sure that her daughter got what she needed of life.

That very way of thinking, that very way of doing things, gave that child since she was knee high, the impression that she could, and more importantly, should get everything she wanted, or deemed necessary.

Was there really anything in the world that someone could not live without? Probably not. But, the idea and what was instilled in that child's head from an early age was what she took with her to adulthood.

All those small things that parents would think were not that important and to just let slide away, another day, to be taken care of, not so. Those are the very easy things that a child keeps into the hidden recesses of their mind, that resurrect in their adulthood when faced with moral decisions. Whether to engage those needs and wants or take the high road accepting defeat sometimes, walking away unscathed or scathing.

Not those children, who then became those adults, victims of that kind of self absorbed rearing. The thought that a child should have everything, should have what others could not or what others have, God forbid, before they did, was unforgivable in the minds of that kind of mother.

Yet, she had meant well. Serena loved her daughter. Nothing that that woman did intended to hurt her child but the results were just that.
