Slumping on the sofa, my sister, Leanne Wainwright, sighed with exhaustion.
‘I'm so tired,’ she groaned.
It was November 2021, and she had a week off from work as clerical assistant in the eye department of Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
‘I'm going to sit here and watch Christmas films every day,’ Leanne, 39, said.
I frowned.
Christmas was Leanne's favourite time of year.
She had more festive jumpers than normal ones.
Even her little Shih Tzu, Peanut, aged 4, had one!
Leanne was a social butterfly, and as the season got into swing she was usually out, mulled wine in hand.
