As a mom with young children, my husband and I felt it would be in our children’s best interests if I stayed home with them rather than returning to work. Both my husband and I felt that me raising our children was a better option than daycare, but it also meant we were going to need to make many sacrifices. Me staying home meant that our monthly income was going to be reduced to just his monthly income, which meant we had to rework our monthly budget. And reworking the budget meant we were going to have to make big changes in our spending habits.

Over the years I have probably spent hundreds of dollars, if not thousands of dollars, on household cleaning products, as well as beauty and health products. It was just something that I felt was necessary in order to keep my home clean and my family looking and feeling their best. However, I was starting to grow tired of wasting money on this stuff and I was growing leery of exposing my kids to all of these things that contained plenty of harsh chemicals.
