My Inspiration
My words are a testament to my life. I grew up in some of the worst places for anyone with a dream. All I ever wanted to do was write. As a child, writing was my way of creating a life that I imagined, that no one could destroy. My days were long, hard, and filled with death and abuse. Every day, I sat in my closet, read books, and imagined a happy childhood that only existed in my mind. Despite all the hardships I encountered, I managed to survive and marry the man of my dreams and have the family that I always imagined. I’m still waiting on that white picket fence, but it’ll come—in God’s time. My belief in God has been the light in my life, my entire life. Some days, I did not have food or shelter, but somehow, I survived. Some days, I lay in a hospital bed because I couldn’t remember who I was or where I was, but somehow, I survived. God was and will always be my redeemer. I can only hope
