    A Message from the President/CEO . . .

    Greetings,

Welcome to another quarter of insightful study. We look forward to joining you in this fourth quarter for a series of studies in God’s powerful and transformative Word. It has been our goal for more than 120 years to provide accessible materials that will help you and your local church keep Jesus a priority.

For this quarter, the first unit Jesus Rules Like God, focuses on the letter of Hebrews. Students will be encouraged to seek guidance from Jesus Christ, explore how God performs His work, and find comfort in the continuity of His presence over time.

The next unit, God Creates All Things New, focuses on the book of Revelation. The Apostle John shows his readers a transition that we can all look forward to with joy. There will come a time when we are no longer battling with the devil or with those who oppose God. Instead, God will make all things and people new and eternal.

The final unit, The Savior Is Born, focuses on the Gospel of Luke. In these lessons, we will see that God keeps His promises and that we can expect them to be great blessings for humanity.

We at R.H. Boyd Publishing Corporation hope that this quarter renews your hearts, minds, and souls to pursue Jesus Christ. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and guide you in your journey.

    Yours in Christ,

    Dr. T. B. Boyd III

    President/CEO

    QUARTERLY OVERVIEW

Jesus is the perfect Example for how His children should follow God. He has revealed His sovereign nature throughout the Bible, particularly through the books of Hebrews, Revelation, and Luke. We begin the quarter in the letter to the Hebrews and learn how Jesus rules like God. Next, we will see how God will one day make everything new and perfect. We will end the quarter with the birth of Jesus through whom salvation was first brought to the world.

Unit 1—October Jesus Rules Like God

Unit I, Jesus Rules Like God, is a five-lesson unit that studies the similarities found in the letter to the Hebrews between the sovereignty of God and the risen Christ. In these lessons, the writer describes Jesus as the eternal Representation of God and the Mediator for humanity.

Unit 2—November God Creates All Things New

Unit II, God Creates All Things New, is a four-lesson unit that focuses on the final two chapters of the book of Revelation. God showed John visions of how He would make all things new when His Son returns.

Unit 3—December The Savior Is Born

Unit III, The Savior is Born, is made up of four lessons from the Gospel of Luke. In these lessons, Mary learns that she will be the mother of the Savior of the world. Her cousin, Elizabeth, also miraculously gives birth to a son, John the Baptist, who would pave the way for Jesus’ ministry. The last lesson, on Christmas day, covers the birth of Jesus Himself.

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therefore content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

    14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
