1.
The Light of a New Sunrise
I wish to inspire a generation
to fill the world with love
There is a certain kind of brightness
that exists in everyone
Do not hold back the radiance
Let it out for all to see
Encourage others to do good things
and achieve their hopes and dreams
Give it dedication,
endeavour and persevere
to accomplish your goals with confidence
Why not take a steer
From an old war horse
with no where left to roam
He’s seen most things, been everywhere
Yet with still so much to learn
If ever opportunity knocks
grasp it with both hands, why not?
The chance is rarely there for long
and the moment may soon be gone
Plan and undertake
what you need to do today
Work on your aspirations
- don’t rely on chance or fate
And you may just be surprised
when you open up your eyes
In the early morning
to the light of a new sunrise
A brand new day beckons
promising a little more
than all those ‘grey starts’ to date
Go and open up your door
2.
Weaving of the Loom
There was no-one quite like you
Unique in so many ways
Numerous qualities and virtues
that can be so hard to find these days
You were a guiding light
Giving hope in the night
Love in the day
making everything alright
Leading by example
taking on responsibility
Doing what you could
to help anyone in need
Generous to a fault
giving what you got
- appreciative and loving
You would never know when to stop
Celebrate the goodness
Delight in the Kind
- those many cherished moments
as we gaze down the line
Looking back on your wonderful life
Now is the time
to think and rejoice our good
