Chapter One

Cami Walker hated moving. She hated having to pack all of her stuff in boxes. She hated being new to the neighborhood and having to make new friends. But she had no choice since she was married to Blake, a calculating and wealthy businessman. This time, Cami and her husband moved near a Navy base because Blake had been awarded a contract to do business there.

The Navy base, Blue Pines, sat right on the coast. A warm sun rose over the sand and a cool and gentle breeze blew through Cami’s open windows. Still yet, Cami didn’t quite feel at home. Blake warned her before they moved that the base would be full of shifters. She’d heard of shifters, but she never actually lived around them.  Cami had been raised to think shifters were dangerous, wild and ruthless.

Cami noticed Blake clearing out a box of his old things and setting them aside. Blake looked so manly with his polo shirt rolled up at the sleeves. Even though they’ve been married for seven years, she still found him very sexy. She strolled over to him and spoke.

You don’t have to do that right now, you know, Cami purred. 

Cami then lowered her mouth and kissed along Blake’s cheek. She felt his prickly five ’o clock shadow scratching against her skin.

Blake pulled away from her touch.

I really got to get this house together. Otherwise, we’re going to be living in boxes for the next six months... he said in a low tone.

Cami walked away very frustrated.  This wasn’t the first time Blake shot her down. For months, Blake had been turning her down whenever she tried to kiss or hug him. He had been so absorbed in his work that he hardly paid her any attention. Cami had been attending to herself more times than she could count...
