Chapter One

Who has a honeymoon at a ski resort? Misty Davenport seriously wondered. She had just gotten married two days ago in the sunny and warm Cayman Islands. And now, she stood outside the hotel bundled up in cozy faux-fur lined ski boots and a heavy jacket. Misty pulled out her pocket mirror and grimaced.

I look like a blimp... She grumbled to her husband.

Gregory grabbed the suitcases and started lugging them towards the lobby.

I’m gonna go get us checked in... He told her, ignoring Misty’s annoyed pout.

The whole thing was her husband Gregory’s idea to have a winter wonderland honeymoon and she hated it, but went along with it anyway.

Misty had met Gregory by accident two years ago at a mixer at work. Everyone said they made such a cute couple. And, when Gregory asked Misty to marry him, Misty sort of shrugged and mumbled yes.

"Ouch!" Misty cried while rubbing her forehead.

A severe throbbing pain pounded in her head. As she tried to pick up her bag a man had accidently knocked her in the head.

How about you watch where you’re going next time, huh? Misty hissed.

Suddenly, her eyes widened at the sight of a man with a pair of icy blue eyes. He had a fierceness about his looks. He must have been at least 6’5 and had a very muscular frame. Misty’s eyes traced his neck and couldn’t help staring at his bulging Adam’s apple. He had his broad chest puffed out without even trying.

His striking eyes focused in on her so hard it almost made Misty blush.

Is your head okay? he grunted.

Misty nodded giving her forehead another rub.

I think I just might survive, Misty joked. But you almost knocked me over.

Yeah, I’m built pretty much like marble. Sometimes I don’t know my own strength.
